- Transmigrating as a Cannon Fodder in the Apocalypse, Seducing the Mad Female Lead
- Chapter 5 - Playing the Green Tea
The woman looked up, her features delicate and refined, but her words were far from pleasant.
“There are still many people trapped inside the building. I managed to escape, but they didn’t. Please, you must save them.”
Su Tang: …
No wonder the female lead survived so long in the Apocalypse. Whenever faced with a crisis, she retreats behind the crowd.
The others who had ventured out to scavenge supplies exchanged skeptical glances. If they were to trust strangers so easily, they would have died countless times in this apocalyptic world.
Just then, a faint cough and footsteps echoed from behind. The group swiftly turned, leaving only one person to keep their weapon trained on the weakened woman as a precaution.
“Miss Su?”
Seeing Su Tang, the group exchanged puzzled looks. As the leader’s pampered daughter, she rarely left the Shelter.
“I just came out for some exercise,” Su Tang said, feeling slightly awkward under their scrutiny. She knew her behavior was a stark contrast to the original owner of this body.
But if she didn’t change, she would meet the same fate as in the original story:
Death by brick.
Her gaze then fell on Bai Yanxing, who was wearing a thick cotton-padded coat and holding a bow and arrow. She had already removed the arrow.
“Su Tang, what are you doing here?”
“I came to find you.”
Su Tang strode forward without hesitation, as if declaring her possessiveness to the world. She glanced lightly at the crowd before wrapping her arm around Bai Yanxing’s.
“Why didn’t you tell me you were getting up? You had me worried sick for so long!”
The tenderness and affection in her voice were something ordinary people could only dream of.
“I didn’t want to disturb you…”
Bai Yanxing felt a natural aversion to being touched by strangers. But since this person was her parents’ rescuer and her own savior, she didn’t push her away, merely allowing her to hold her arm.
The soft pressure against her arm made her fingers stiffen for a moment, and the bow nearly slipped from her grasp.
“How could that be a disturbance?” Su Tang’s voice was deliberately seductive, each word dripping with honeyed sweetness. She was slowly tightening her grip on the Female Lead’s heart.
“I saved you, so naturally, your whole family is my responsibility.”
Su Tang raised an eyebrow, her words carrying the weight of her position as the daughter of the Black Wolf Gang leader. Everyone had to obey her commands.
Though Su Tang desperately wanted to throw the female lead into a horde of zombies and eliminate the threat forever, she knew that the protagonist’s plot armor wasn’t so easily broken.
In the original novel, Bai Yanxing had indeed planned to find a new base of operations and assemble a team to attack the Black Wolf Gang after losing her parents. The female lead was the first teammate she encountered.
The building still contained supplies, but the others who had been too slow to escape had long since become zombie snacks.
“Are you telling the truth?” Su Tang lowered her head, her gaze fixed on the female lead. She was undeniably handsome, a potential threat to her.
Not saving her would be the best course of action.
“Of course I’m telling the truth.”
“I beg you…” The woman struggled to prop herself up.
“Alright, we’ll go in and rescue them.”
Su Tang had already made up her mind. Since she couldn’t extinguish the protagonist’s plot armor, she would make her work for her.
She would bring the female lead into the Shelter and assign her tasks like growing vegetables and cleaning latrines, ensuring she had minimal contact with the Female Lead.
It was a rather wicked plan, but…
In the Apocalypse, any display of mercy or weakness would lead to a disastrous end.
The Female Lead’s favor belonged to her alone!
The group numbered about a dozen. Bai Yanxing gripped her bow and arrow, her mind preoccupied with why Su Tang seemed so fixated on that man.
Could she be in love with him?
His fingers tightened around the bow, a sense of unease creeping in. She felt she shouldn’t interfere in such matters.
But if she’s in love with him, why does she cling to me so much?
What a strange person.
Still, a pang of jealousy stung him. Miss Su really falls for someone new every day, doesn’t she? Yesterday she was all over me, and today she’s agreeing to rescue a stranger’s teammates.
This was Su Tang’s first encounter with zombies. Despite her mental preparation, the creatures’ grotesque appearance still startled her.
The zombies in the novel weren’t merely the result of a viral outbreak.
They were infected by a bizarre contaminant—a malevolent entity from the ocean depths. Having read the later chapters, Su Tang knew its true nature: an ancient evil god from the sea.
Many might assume it was the great octopus, Cthulhu.
But that wasn’t the case.
The true evil god lurking beneath the waves was an extraterrestrial being.
Thus, these zombies didn’t rot. Instead, their shriveled skin was marked with spiraling vortex patterns.
These zombies had crimson eyes and teeth mutated into razor-sharp fangs, like those of a vicious wolf.
A single bite meant instant infection, so extreme caution was essential.
Bai Yanxing moved with lightning speed. From hundreds of meters away, she drew her bow, nocked an arrow, and pinned a zombie’s head to the wall in a single shot.
“Wow, Yanxing, you’re amazing!” Su Tang praised at the opportune moment.
But inwardly, she was scheming how to get closer to the Female Lead again tonight.
Little did she know that her casual, supportive praise caused Bai Yanxing’s fingers to tremble slightly. Her arrow, which could have pierced the zombie’s eye, veered off course and struck only its ear.
Undaunted, she swiftly followed up with another arrow, pinning the creature firmly to the wall. Crimson, foul-smelling bl00d splattered across the entire surface.
“Truly impressive!” Even the battle-hardened members of the Black Wolf Gang couldn’t help but marvel.
With just three arrows, Bai Yanxing had cleared the entire first floor of zombies. He’d definitely be getting extra chicken legs for dinner tonight.
That’s right, the Black Wolf Gang had a reward system.
Killing one zombie a day met the basic quota, but exceeding it earned additional rewards: fruits, vegetables, or meat.
Bai Yanxing stood up, pulled the arrow from the zombie’s body, casually wiped it on a cloth strip hanging from her waist, and returned it to her quiver.
“My dad’s throwing a banquet tonight. Want to come?”
Su Tang raised her small knife and poked at the zombie’s body, testing its texture.
These zombies weren’t the rotting flesh seen in movies; their skin was taut and tough. Without considerable force, a knife wouldn’t pierce it.
“Isn’t there a curfew tonight?” Bai Yanxing blinked.
“Tonight’s different.”
Su Tang remembered from the plot that the Black Wolf Gang could hold banquets whenever they brought back large quantities of supplies.
The Female Lead had used this opportunity to sneak in and avenge her parents.
Having read the novel, Su Tang knew the building contained abundant resources, including sanitary pads—a rare commodity in the Apocalypse.
As Bai Yanxing hesitated, Su Tang grabbed her wrist.
“Yanxing, you don’t have a choice. I saved your family, so you owe me.”
Standing on tiptoe, Su Tang spoke with fervent intensity, her breath ghosting across her ear, making it flush crimson.
Her words carried a hint of seduction.
“Stay with me.”
“Even if it’s just to repay me.”
Su Tang felt a wave of nausea after speaking—this is way too green tea, she thought.
