- Chapter 6 - She is a Succubus
“Alright.”
Bai Yanxing’s heart pounded wildly. She couldn’t explain why she had agreed, as if an invisible force of anticipation had pushed the word from her lips.
Damn it…
This is pathetic. Letting a woman’s words sway me so easily.
Bai Yanxing internally berated herself, but since she had already given her word, she refused to back down.
Seeing how closely the two were standing, several members of the Black Wolf Gang couldn’t contain their disapproval.
“Miss Su, you’re the leader’s daughter. You shouldn’t trust these newcomers to our Shelter. What if they’re just planning to steal some medicine and leave?”
“What did you say?” Bai Yanxing frowned slightly, disliking anyone speaking ill of her parents.
“Am I wrong? A rat is a rat—they’ll always be thieves.” The Black Wolf Gang member refused to back down, knowing that medicine was precious to them.
“As for you… you look like a rat too.”
Bai Yanxing clenched her fists, taking a step forward. She didn’t care what they said about her, but they couldn’t insult her parents! Her parents had only resorted to desperate measures to save her.
Faced with Bai Yanxing’s advancing stance, the woman stood her ground. She had no reason to fear a little girl, even if she was skilled with a bow. After all, she wielded a massive cleaver.
The atmosphere grew tense, on the verge of erupting into violence.
Su Tang decisively stepped between the two men.
“Apologize!”
She turned to face the Black Wolf Gang member, her voice slightly raised. Though still a soft, feminine tone, no one in the gang dared disobey Su Tang’s commands.
“Miss Su, I didn’t say anything wrong. Everything I said was true…” the woman tried to argue.
“Yanxing just helped us kill two zombies, while you haven’t taken down a single one. Is it really appropriate to speak to her so rudely?” Su Tang narrowed her eyes.
The others began whispering among themselves, clearly acknowledging the validity of Su Tang’s words. In the Apocalypse, those who could swiftly eliminate zombies were ruthless individuals deserving of respect.
The woman fell silent, her teammates refusing to back her up. She glanced left and right, visibly embarrassed.
“Apologize,” Su Tang repeated, crossing her arms and radiating authority.
Even though I’m just a cannon fodder character, this cannon fodder status isn’t low-ranking. It’s actually quite useful.
“I… I’m sorry,” the woman finally muttered, reluctantly bowing her head.
“Apologize properly,” Su Tang’s tone grew even sterner, making it clear she was firmly defending Bai Yanxing. Though everyone secretly grumbled to themselves, they suspected Su Tang was treating her so well because of her good looks.
But no one dared to speak up.
Su Jianyu was a terrifying man.
He had single-handedly founded the Black Wolf Gang, establishing a shelter amidst the zombie-infested lands. The gang’s leaders all obeyed her commands without question.
“I’m sorry, it was my fault.”
“You’re strong, not a rat. I shouldn’t have called you that.”
Hearing the man’s humble tone, Su Tang finally nodded in satisfaction and continued upstairs with the main group.
The building was sparsely populated with zombies, but when they found the female lead’s companions, just as the novel had described, the bodies were mangled beyond recognition.
Su Tang closed her eyes, nearly vomiting.
Her imagination had always been vivid when reading novels, but seeing the reality firsthand revealed that some horrors simply couldn’t be captured in words.
Yet she forced her eyes open again. If she couldn’t even stomach a few corpses in this apocalypse, her fragile mindset would surely lead to her death.
Once they confirmed the building was clear of zombies within sight, the group began gathering supplies, opening their backpacks to cram in whatever remained on the shelves.
Su Tang noticed a bookstore next door.
The building was a shopping mall, and nearly everyone had converged on the food section. Armed with a small knife, Su Tang slowly made her way to the bookshelf area.
Only one or two people were collecting books here.
“Great! This Encyclopedia of Herbal Medicine will be useful back home.”
Su Tang casually scanned the shelves until her eyes landed on a book. The cover depicted two women lying intimately on a soft, large bed, their fingers intertwined in a tender embrace.
One of the women’s long dress was slightly disheveled, its straps slipping off her shoulder to reveal a hint of creamy white skin.
Su Tang glanced at the title:
Rainy Night Whispers
Her eyes lit up. Based on her years of extensive novel reading, she knew exactly what kind of content this book contained.
Without hesitation, she grabbed the book and stuffed it into her backpack. She could casually show it to the Female Lead later, helping her open the door to a new world.
However, Su Tang wasn’t completely neglecting her duties.
She diligently searched for supplies, focusing on collecting useful books.
For example, she picked up a manual on woodworking, detailing how to create mortise and tenon joints.
It’s often said that books are the crystallization of human civilization, and this holds true even in the Apocalypse. With many having lost their skills, these books offered a significant opportunity for improvement.
By the time they finished gathering supplies, dusk was approaching.
The female lead had already been taken back by other members of the Black Wolf Gang. After all, a shelter needed to expand its population to grow stronger.
Everyone walked along the street, hoping to encounter Black Wolf Gang units returning in vehicles.
Bai Yanxing nocked an arrow and drew her bow. Even in the darkness, her vision remained sharp as she swiftly shot down a wandering zombie nearby.
In just one day, Bai Yanxing had eliminated nearly five zombies.
Su Tang couldn’t help but marvel inwardly, No wonder he’s possessed by the God of War.
I’ve latched onto this powerhouse, and I’m never letting go.
“Yanxing, I have a gift for you,” Su Tang said, walking close beside him. In her mind, she resolved to seize the dominant role in their relationship.
Especially with the Female Lead’s figure…
Turning her against me would be so satisfying. Her flushed face and burning ears—that’s the sight I crave most.
“What kind of gift?”
Bai Yanxing turned to look at the girl staring intently at him. For some reason, her heart skipped a beat.
“You’ll find out tonight.”
“By the way, are you still staying at my place tonight?”
Su Tang hesitated for a moment before delivering her classic line.
“My house is quite spacious and warm.”
“If you stay somewhere else, you won’t have as much firewood to burn.”
Although winter was approaching, firewood rations remained scarce. The main reason was that wood was needed to reinforce the city walls; otherwise, when the zombie horde arrived, everyone would be doomed.
“But my parents…” Bai Yanxing hesitated slightly.
“Do you want to get another high fever?” Su Tang coaxed gently, feeling like a devil who had completely ensnared the Female Lead in her trap, ready to devour her whole.
“No.”
“It’s just… wouldn’t me staying at your place be a bother?”
“Not at all.”
Su Tang smiled seductively. If she had a tail, it would undoubtedly be the heart-shaped tail of a succubus, twitching gently as her wicked schemes swirled within her.
