- Chapter 34 - When Gods Clash, Mortals Suffer
“If you’re not a Demonic Cultivator, then why is there demonic energy where you were?” Wei Guang asked.
Ruan Dongling took a few deep breaths and recounted the events she had experienced.
When Wei Guang heard that Ruan Dongling had followed the child to blow up cow dung, the corner of his mouth twitched almost imperceptibly.
“That’s the whole story! You’ve really misunderstood!” Ruan Dongling spread her hands, completely giving up.
“If that’s the case, why did Junior Brother Zimo insist you were a Demonic Cultivator?” Wei Guang remained puzzled.
Beneath his sword-like eyebrows were a pair of peach blossom eyes, a straight nose, thin lips, and fair skin—a truly handsome appearance.
Ruan Dongling stared at the cultivator before her, thinking what a waste of good looks Wei Guang was. How could someone so handsome be so utterly clueless?
“Wait, who are you anyway? You’re out wandering the world with zero experience?” Ruan Dongling fired off questions like a machine gun, giving the cultivator no chance to speak.
“Someone like you would get swindled out of your pants, you know that?”
“Didn’t you hear Zhong Zimuo say I defected from the sect? He used to be my Senior Brother! We have a grudge!”
“Of course he’d fabricate stories and slander me! He just wants you to kill me!”
Upon hearing Ruan Dongling’s words, Wei Guang’s face flushed slightly. He immediately snapped, “Enough nonsense!”
Ruan Dongling glanced at the cultivator and thought, Can’t even handle the word “underwear”?
Having rested, she pushed herself up against a tree and stood.
“Alright, alright, I won’t say it again…”
“Look, since this was all a misunderstanding, stop chasing me. I have things to do!”
Ruan Dongling waved her hand and turned to leave, having already sensed several faint demon beast auras nearby, suggesting the area was teeming with small demon beasts.
After taking a few steps, she turned back to Wei Guang and warned, “Be careful. Don’t let Zhong Zimuo trick you into counting his money while he stabs you in the back!”
Just then, a red-and-white figure burst from the depths of the dense forest!
Ruan Dongling reacted swiftly, twisting her body to evade the figure. Wei Guang easily dodged as well.
The pair turned to face the white blur, only to realize it was a person!
The figure wore a white robe, now stained crimson with bl00d. Large patches of bl00d had dyed the garment a mottled red and white.
The person seemed utterly exhausted. After passing Ruan Dongling and Wei Guang, he crashed headfirst into a tree trunk and slumped limply to the ground.
Only then did Ruan Dongling notice the sword protruding from his back.
This is bad, she thought. We’ve stumbled into a murder scene!
With her current Foundation Establishment Stage cultivation, Ruan Dongling hadn’t even sensed this person’s approach, let alone the pursuers behind him!
His aura was unfathomable, clearly indicating a formidable opponent—one who could crush her in an instant. At the very least, he was a Nascent Soul cultivator!
True Sight Eye, activate!
A line of text appeared above the injured man’s head:
Late-Stage Nascent Soul, Fire Spirit Root, 326 years old…
As expected!
To wound a Nascent Soul expert so severely, his attacker must be at least a Nascent Soul Transformation God. With a mere flick of a finger, he could obliterate her and Wei Guang, the naive fool.
This was a classic case of gods warring while mortals suffer!
The man struggled to turn over, revealing a mangled mess of flesh and bl00d at his Dantian.
The man’s profile was extensive, the line of text stretching long. Ruan Dongling only glanced at the first few attributes before abandoning it—survival came first!
“Run!” Ruan Dongling shouted to Wei Guang, sprinting ahead.
She had done her part for Wei Guang; if he hesitated and died, it wouldn’t be her fault!
Wei Guang immediately reacted, but instead of fleeing, he grabbed Ruan Dongling’s arm, yanking her off balance.
“This man is on the brink of death! How can you abandon him?”
Staring at Wei Guang’s innocent face, Ruan Dongling nearly slapped him.
I saved you out of kindness, and you repay me by trying to drag me down with you to your death?
“If you want to die, do it yourself! Let go of me!” Ruan Dongling yanked her hand free from Wei Guang’s grasp and bolted away.
“Save… me…”
With a whoosh, a sword flew through the air.
Ruan Dongling stared at the sword embedded in the ground before her, bl00d still dripping from its blade. She swallowed hard.
Turning around, she eyed the white-robed figure who looked on the verge of death, calculating her chances of escaping if she made a run for it.
By then, Wei Guang had already helped the white-robed man sit up.
Ruan Dongling sighed, retrieved several Bloodstopping Pills and Qi Restoration Pills, and strode forward to shove them all into the man’s mouth.
The white-robed figure seemed to recognize the pills weren’t poison and swallowed them cooperatively, though with great difficulty. Afterward, he lifted his gaze to meet Ruan Dongling’s eyes.
Ruan Dongling felt a chill run down her spine as the white-robed man’s eyes locked onto hers, his gaze unwavering.
But she soon realized the white-robed man wasn’t staring at her face, but at her hair.
Her hair?
Butterflies?
“Xiao Die, Xiao Die, are you still there?”
Ruan Dongling called out to the Little Butterfly Demon in her mind, but received no response.
She wondered if the Little Butterfly Demon had already flown away and reached out to touch her hair.
Unexpectedly, the seemingly near-death white-robed man seized her wrist.
His eyes were sharp and piercing. A single glance made the fearless Ruan Dongling tremble, a chill running down her spine.
“Imp…udence…” Bl00d bubbled from his mouth as he spoke.
“Impudence? I… I touch my hair, and that’s impudence? What… what kind of logic is that?”
Ruan Dongling forced herself to finish the sentence, meeting the white-robed man’s terrifying gaze.
“Quick… get me out of here…” His voice was icy, carrying an irresistible tone of command.
Unfortunately, just as he finished speaking, he fainted.
Ruan Dongling sighed in relief, ready to get up and leave. She had no desire to follow this dangerous white-robed man. But then she remembered he had already seen her. If he survived, he might come looking for her later, which would be a real headache.
She glanced at Wei Guang beside her and quickly produced two bottles of healing pills: one Bloodstopping Pill and one Qi Restoration Pill. She shoved both bottles into Wei Guang’s hands.
Better a dead friend than a dead me!
“Here, angel! I’ve got things to do, so I can’t stay. Farewell!”
Without waiting for Wei Guang to refuse, Ruan Dongling bolted, putting as much distance as possible between herself and this trouble.
Not long after Ruan Dongling left, another cultivator and Zhong Zimuo arrived. When they saw Wei Guang supporting a man covered in bl00d, both Zhong Zimuo and the cultivator gasped in shock.
Rushing forward to help Wei Guang support the white-robed man, Zhong Zimuo asked, “What happened? Who is this?”
Support "TRANSMIGRATING AS A CRAZY VILLAINESS, SHE BECOMES INVINCIBLE BY SLACKING OFF"
