Transmigrating Before The Crazy Beauty Scum A Loses Control - Chapter 12
The Luan family’s residence, though somewhat distant from the bustling commercial district, is undeniably located in an affluent area filled with luxurious mansions and villas.
Everyone maintains the politeness and rules within their circle, accustomed to each other’s presence without interference.
The houses are standalone, preserving ample social distance, allowing for sufficient private space in the land-scarce capital city.
Each courtyard, according to preference, is enclosed by fences or walls, or for those who prefer a more natural touch, plants serve as natural barriers.
The Luan residence is decorated in the minimalist style favored by Luan Yenan, surrounded by white walls, with a main gate wide enough to allow two cars to enter side by side.
However, the gate was tightly shut.
The driver parked the car outside the residence, in a small designated parking area.
“Miss, Mrs. Luan, Ms. Luan said you can go in by yourselves upon arrival; she still has a video conference to attend.” the driver said as she opened the car door for Luan Yenan, her gaze fixed on the door, avoiding eye contact with Luan Yenan.
Luan Yenan stepped out of the car, catching a faint scent in the air, her movements slow, momentarily dazed by the title “Ms. Luan.”
Noticing the driver’s averted gaze, Luan Yenan realized the driver was simply afraid of her and said nothing more, heading towards the main gate.
As Zuo Baixuan was about to leave, the driver reminded her, “Mrs. Luan, there’s a German Shepherd at home named Pepper. It can be quite intimidating to strangers, but it’s actually very gentle and won’t bite, so there’s no need to be afraid.”
Zuo Baixuan nodded in thanks for the reminder.
By the time she caught up with Luan Yenan, the latter had already placed her finger on the electronic lock of the side gate.
Beep beep—
Successfully unlocked.
In the restored chat records, Luan Yenan could see messages filled with “Don’t come back,” “Die outside,” “You’re no longer my daughter.”
But the fingerprint for the gate hadn’t been deleted. It seems this Alpha mother is all bark and no bite.
Upon stepping inside, a powerful bark echoed from a distance: “Woof woof woof!”
A large, robust German Shepherd came running down the stone path of the yard.
Its strong limbs pounded the ground, the sound of its claws scraping against the stones interspersed with its barks, adding to the intimidation.
It wasn’t welcoming its owner home but defending against intruders.
Although warned by the driver, Zuo Baixuan was still startled, standing still, afraid that any move might provoke the dog.
This large German Shepherd looked different from what she had imagined, with a mixed coat that didn’t seem purebred, with black and white hairs sprinkled among the tan and dark brown, like a dash of pepper.
Is that how Pepper got its name?
Zuo Baixuan pursed her lips, not finding it cute, and with its messy coat, it now looked like a mad dog.
Even though she was wearing a sun-protective jacket, with no skin exposed, facing the barking large dog still made her feel the jacket was too thin.
It wasn’t until she felt pain in her arm that she snapped out of her frozen state, forgetting to cry out in pain.
It felt like being bitten by a mad dog.
But it was all an illusion.
It was Luan Yenan who had grabbed her arm with one hand and pulled her behind.
When Zuo Baixuan’s back lightly hit the door, she was stunned.
This isn’t right.
Is this person protecting me?
This isn’t right!
Why is the Luan family’s guard dog barking even more frantically now that I’m out of sight?
Zuo Baixuan’s hand covered the spot where Luan Yenan had gripped her painfully, watching the showdown between the lunatic and the mad dog.
Luan Yenan, dressed in a beautiful black long dress, stood tall.
She calmly looked at the German Shepherd, meeting its gaze, and took two steps forward.
Zuo Baixuan’s hand involuntarily tightened, her heart lifting.
What is this lunatic woman going to do?
Luan Yenan let Pepper assume an attacking posture, its body swaying side to side, the muscles in its legs tensing.
Indeed a good dog, sensing the difference between her and the original owner, hence the strong reaction.
The stance was intimidating, yet it still wouldn’t attack without provocation.
Luan Yenan had dealt with wild dogs in the mountains as a child.
Being bitten was a common occurrence; thinking about it, it’s a miracle she didn’t get rabies.
As an adult, she had interacted with many breeds of dogs.
She had her own way of dealing with dogs.
You can’t back down in front of a dog.
They might bully you if they sense your fear.
But there’s no need for meaningless threatening behavior.
Especially with a trained dog like this.
“Pepper, sit!” Luan Yenan replicated the training gesture based on details recorded by the original owner on social media.
Pepper’s barking ceased.
The familiar voice and gesture made it open its mouth, then close it. It licked its lips, the taste reminding it that it had just been eating dog food.
After calming down, Pepper’s small, round black eyes stared at Luan Yenan for a while.
Luan Yenan’s hand was still raised: “Sit!”
Hearing the familiar command again, Pepper hesitated, then retracted its fangs. It looked up at the person in front of it, slowly lowering its bottom to the ground.
“Good.” Luan Yenan stood to the left of the German Shepherd, ruffling its head.
Zuo Baixuan watched this scene.
The condescending conquest and the tamed submission both made her uncomfortable.
Because it reminded her of her own situation.
But Luan Yenan stood in the courtyard full of plants, harmoniously interacting with a dog.
It was as clean as a vividly colored oil painting.
Who would have thought that within this gentle painting, there existed a lunatic and a mad dog.
Pepper, no longer irritable, began to gently wag its tail at the guest Zuo Baixuan, its round, black eyes quite endearing.
Zuo Baixuan was unexpectedly touched by the dog’s unintentional cuteness, giving in, and mentally crossed out the term “mad dog.”
Seeing Zuo Baixuan’s hands slightly moving, already wanting to pet the dog, Luan Yenan couldn’t help but laugh. She even laughed a bit too much, letting out a sound beyond just her breath.
Zuo Baixuan stared at this smiling face, the red lips contrasting with the fair skin, now tinged with a blush, bright and having nothing to do with madness. The smile was like a bright ray of light.
She added “beauty” after “lunatic” in her mind.
Lunatic beauty.
It must be because the light is too good and her heart is beating too fast that she’s having such thoughts.
“Alright, let’s go inside, or it’s going to rain.” Luan Yenan said, leading the dog towards the house.
Author’s note:
Luan Yenan: Such great lighting on this overcast day.
Zuo Baixuan: …
