Transmigrating into a Wasteland Cannon Fodder Slag A [GL Yuri] - Chapter 29.2
During that harrowing moment, no one in the car screamed. Even the child named Xiao Hua clung tightly to Hei Ye, and despite her fear, she didn’t utter a sound that would distract Yan An.
There was a saying in the apocalypse: “First, seal your mouth. Screaming only makes you die faster.”
Whether you were a man, woman, or child, keeping your mouth shut was the key to living a little longer.
Yan An gave Gu Xia a thumbs-up with one hand and immediately pushed the gas to 180, plowing through the zombies at breakneck speed as she escaped the vicinity of the mall.
There were still a lot of zombies in other areas, but at least there weren’t so many that they could flip the car.
It wasn’t long before Yan An saw the back of the armored car, and it seemed they had seen her, too.
Then, the walkie-talkie hanging from her chest crackled to life. “Not bad. I thought you were all going to die from your own misplaced kindness.”
It was Fang Qiang. Hearing his words, Xiao Feng lowered his head, not daring to look at the others.
If it weren’t for Yan An’s driving skills, they would have all been dead.
Yan An pressed the button on the walkie-talkie. “There’s a large distribution warehouse about ten kilometers from here. It’s in the suburbs and only handles deliveries, so there should only be employees inside. We need to go there to get supplies.”
The place they had just left was a shopping mall. While it had a lot of food, most of it was expired, and none of it was sealed. Everything in the restaurants was rotting.
Because of this, Fang Qiang and his group had very little food. There were a lot of vegetables, but they would spoil quickly. The only other option was pre-packaged meals, but those had a short shelf life, and eating expired food could get you killed.
Fang Qiang’s decision to leave the mall was largely due to this, not because of anyone else’s advice.
“Fine.” Fang Qiang answered nonchalantly.
Yan An’s spatial pocket had grown, and she could now store a lot of things. She had thrown away so much food to make room for equipment before, so she needed to restock.
She drove carefully while Gu Xia wiped her gun, silently warning everyone to stay in line.
Inside the car, the power dynamic was a mess: Fang Qiang’s people, Hei Ye and her subordinate, and Huang Yunyun, who no one knew what to make of.
No one in that car trusted anyone else.
Yan An didn’t care. As long as Gu Xia was sitting behind her, nothing could happen.
At their current speed, ten kilometers would take less than half an hour.
On the way, Hei Ye broke the silence and asked Gu Xia about their trip downtown.
When they found out Gu Xia and Yan An had a few guns, everyone was interested. In the apocalypse, a single gun was enough to protect yourself. Even an awakened ability wasn’t a universal solution.
But no one asked them to hand over the guns. With Fang Qiang there, how the guns would be distributed would become a new point of conflict.
Yan An touched the high-precision sniper rifle beside her. Neither her sniper rifle nor Gu Xia’s submachine gun would be given away. If anyone dared to try and take them, she wouldn’t hesitate to fight back.

Thirty minutes later, the car stopped outside the distribution warehouse.
Dozens of zombies were clawing at the armored car, and some were violently ramming into it with their heads.
Compared to the RV, the zombies couldn’t even dent the armored car, which had the hardness of a tank.
Seeing them arrive, Fang Qiang suddenly drove forward, ramming into the zombies trying to open the car door. He then spat out venom, turning a few zombies into puddles of bl00d and guts.
Then the people from the armored car got out, holding all sorts of weapons. Dozens of zombies were nothing for them to handle.
They formed a circle around Fang Qiang. Wherever the defense was about to fail, Fang Qiang would use his ability. It was like a few squishy “tanks” were protecting Fang Qiang, the “mage.” They held long knives and steel pipes, blocking the zombies outside and stabbing them in the head.
They moved like a well-organized army, killing dozens of zombies in a coordinated effort.
Just as Yan An’s car came to a stop, several zombies lunged at it.
Hei Ye used her ability to block the car doors, and Yan An immediately got out, firing her gun without hesitation.
Her and Gu Xia’s guns had silencers, so they didn’t have to worry about attracting more zombies. They could fire at will. A few attacking zombies were gunned down. From behind the earthen wall Hei Ye had built, Yan An didn’t even have to hide. She just kept shooting.
This was the importance of Hei Ye’s ability. It blocked the zombies’ attacks, allowing Yan An to focus solely on offense without having to worry about dodging.
After a few zombies were eliminated, the two groups came together.
Fang Qiang looked at Yan An and Gu Xia, his gaze falling on their guns. “Did you really go to the Security Bureau?”
“We couldn’t get in. There were too many zombies. We just picked up a few guns from outside,” Yan An said, mixing truth with a lie.
When the zombie apocalypse first broke out, too many people had gone to the Security Bureau seeking protection, which led to a massive zombie horde there.
Fang Qiang gave a tight smile. “I knew you couldn’t get in, but I never thought you’d actually get your hands on guns.”
“So, shouldn’t you share them with us?”
This was Fang Qiang’s true motive.
Huang Yunyun and Zhang Xiu probably tried to get into their office for the same reason: they wanted the guns.
Yan An tilted her head, took off her backpack, and showed them three pistols and some ammunition inside. “This is all we have. My sniper rifle and my wife’s submachine gun are not for sale. But you can have these pistols. Agree to our terms, and they’re yours.”
“Why do you get to keep the good guns?” one of Fang Qiang’s men immediately blustered.
Gu Xia suddenly fired her gun, shooting a bullet at the man’s feet. Her expression was as cold as a glacier. “Because we’re the ones who got the guns.”
Yan An let out a cold laugh. “Boss Fang, your subordinate is a bit out of line, isn’t he?”
She took a bullet from her bag and held it up as if aiming, the bullet tip pointed directly at Fang Qiang’s forehead.
Fang Qiang immediately remembered Yan An’s ability to transfer bullets. She could probably transfer his venom, too. If it weren’t for Xiao Hua’s healing ability, his arm wouldn’t have recovered yet.
If they were to fight, everything he used could very well be used against him.
Fang Qiang knew how terrifying Yan An’s ability was, so he immediately stopped his subordinate. “Shut up! Is Yan An’s word something you can question?”
“Miss Yan, I agree to your terms.” He hadn’t used his gun earlier because he had no bullets, and he didn’t want to attract more zombies.
Yan An’s gun even had a silencer. Even a single pistol would increase their fighting power, though he still wanted Gu Xia’s submachine gun.
Yan An flashed a cold smile, then tossed one pistol to Fang Qiang and another to Hei Ye.
Only one pistol remained in her bag. Everyone watched her expectantly, hoping she would give the gun to them.
However, she walked up to Xiao Hua, a five or six-year-old girl, and placed the gun in front of her. “Do you know how to use this?”
The little girl seemed a little scared and hid behind Hei Ye.
Hei Ye spoke up. “Take it. I’ll teach you.”
The little girl still wouldn’t take it. Yan An shrugged. Even a child needed to know how to protect themselves in this new world, but unfortunately, this girl was too young.
“I’ll take it,” Huang Yunyun said, stepping forward, her face full of anticipation.
Yan An hesitated and looked at Gu Xia. They had already agreed to give one pistol each to Fang Qiang and Hei Ye. The third one was meant for Xiao Hua, but now they would have to choose someone else.
“Who do you think you are? Give it to you?” The bald man next to Huang Yunyun shoved her to the ground. “It’s anyone’s turn but yours.”
Gu Xia took the gun from Yan An and tossed it into Huang Yunyun’s arms.
Yan An smiled. In Gu Xia’s mind, children and women came first. She didn’t want Huang Yunyun to end up like the women in the factory who had to use their bodies to please others.
“Thank you,” Huang Yunyun said, grabbing the pistol and immediately pointing it at the bald man.
“Shut up!”
The bald man was furious, but he didn’t dare to challenge a gun. He just raised his hands and backed away.
Gu Xia was pleased with Huang Yunyun’s reaction. A woman should protect herself like this, not scream like a banshee.
“Alright, the guns are distributed. Now, let’s go into the warehouse. Be careful, and don’t make a sound. Anyone who attracts zombies will be killed by me.”
Fang Qiang gave everyone a warning glare, his threat crystal clear.
Yan An moved closer to Gu Xia, and the two of them, in perfect sync, formed a triangle and quickly walked toward the warehouse.
The others weren’t willing to fall behind. No one knew when the next resupply would be, so they had to grab as much as they could while they had the chance.
The first zombies they encountered were a few delivery workers in their uniforms. With the pistols, Fang Qiang and his group had no trouble shooting them. The only zombies inside the warehouse were delivery people and employees, so there weren’t many.
Yan An didn’t want anyone to discover her spatial pocket, so she said, “Let’s meet back here in half an hour.”
The group naturally split up. Only Huang Yunyun glanced at Yan An, then followed Xiao Feng without hesitation. She already knew that Xiao Feng had a soft heart and had saved her.
Yan An didn’t even give her a look. As long as Huang Yunyun didn’t follow them, she could follow anyone she wanted.
After everyone had dispersed, Yan An nudged Gu Xia’s arm. “They’ll definitely head for the food and water sections first. They won’t be able to take everything, so let’s grab things like lighters and toilet paper.”
“What for?”
“So their butts don’t burn!”
Gu Xia: “…” She understood what Yan An meant, but her expression was too clearly one of exasperation. Yan An gave a sheepish laugh, pulled out a piece of chocolate, and held it to Gu Xia’s mouth.
Gu Xia let out a soft huff, then parted her lips and took the chocolate.
