Turns Out Seducing the Movie Queen Can Break the Plot (GL) - Chapter 7
As expected, the line was busy again.
Jiang Chi let out an exasperated laugh. “Busy, busy, busy, what exactly is your President Wen doing all day?”
The receptionist smiled politely. “I wouldn’t know that.”
Jiang Chi’s beautiful face scrunched up, instantly transforming into a pitiful little creature. “Your President Wen may be gorgeous, but she’s such a little cheat!”
The receptionist maintained her smile. “I’m sorry, Miss Jiang, but I’ll have to ask you to leave. Otherwise, I’ll call security.”
Fuming, Jiang Chi returned to her car. She glared up at the towering building, silently vowing that she would get inside today not only that, she would camp out in Wen Wen’s office all day!
She quickly gathered a disguise and picked up a takeout meal from a nearby hotel.
A loose, simple white long-sleeved shirt, paired with a classic yellow vest and wide-leg jeans. She had temporarily dyed her hair black and tied it into a high ponytail, then put on a mask that only revealed a triangular patch of her forehead and her eyes. She even wore gray-blue colored contacts.
Jiang Chi checked her reflection in the building’s floor-to-ceiling windows and nodded in satisfaction.
There was no way she wouldn’t get in today!
When she reached the reception desk, she noticed the attendant wasn’t the same one as before. Her confidence soared as she delivered her prepared lines. Just to be safe, she pitched her voice higher and altered her tone. “Hello, this is a meal ordered by President Wen’s mother. She specifically asked me to deliver it to President Wen personally.”
“Not possible!”
Before the new receptionist could finish, a voice interrupted, “Ah!”
Jiang Chi’s heart skipped a beat when she saw it was the previous receptionist. She lowered her head slightly, feigning meekness, as the woman asked, “Is this President Wen’s takeout?”
She nodded.
“Go ahead and take it up. President Wen’s office is on the 28th floor turn right, and it’s the very last room.”
Jiang Chi was ecstatic inside but kept her composure. “Got it.”
As the elevator ascended, she admired her flawless disguise in the mirrored walls. She couldn’t believe how easily she had gotten in Wen Wen was in for a shock!
Once she stepped off the elevator, she tiptoed down the hallway and peeked into the secretary’s office first.
Empty!
Heaven was on her side!
She dashed to the CEO’s office door and knocked.
“Come in.”
A cool, detached voice responded from inside.
Without hesitation, Jiang Chi pushed the door open.
Wen Wen didn’t even look up. “Just leave the documents on the side.”
When no movement followed, Wen Wen finally lifted her gaze just in time to see the intruder remove her hat. Jiang Chi perched on the edge of the desk, her slender waist slightly arched as she leaned in close. Her jet-black hair cascaded down, a few strands brushing against her face, adding a touch of allure to her otherwise innocent features.
Jiang Chi and Wen Wen were two completely different types of beauties.
Wen Wen had classic peach-blossom eyes their whites and blacks indistinct, giving her gaze a perpetually hazy, ambiguous quality. Her features leaned toward seduction; every smile or frown carried an irresistible charm.
Jiang Chi, on the other hand, had a more innocent appearance. Her almond-shaped eyes were dark and bright, and even when she dyed her hair a striking red, it only made her seem like a rebellious teenager going through a phase. Yet, this contrast became lethally captivating when she deliberately turned on the charm.
Though Jiang Chi’s hair was currently black, for Wen Wen, even Jiang Chi’s usual appearance was enough to captivate her let alone this alluring version.
She remained gazing up at her, momentarily forgetting to breathe.
Jiang Chi placed the hat she had just taken off onto Wen Wen’s head, pulled her close, their breaths mingling. “Scared, huh, Miss Wen the Cheat?”
Wen Wen ignored her teasing, her eyes holding an unreadable glint as the corner of her lips curled with a hint of mischief. “Do you know what people usually call this kind of behavior of yours?”
“Oh? What do they call it?”
“Seduction.” Wen Wen slowly let the word slip, her breath nearly brushing against Jiang Chi’s face.
“Then, was I successful?”
Wen Wen seemed to think of something before uttering, “No,” and pushed Jiang Chi away.
Jiang Chi slumped onto a chair, sprawling across the wide office desk like a college student drained by assignments, whining like a child in front of a parent after class. “Ah, what a shame. How could I fail to seduce you?”
Wen Wen arched a brow. “Do you even know what you’re saying?”
Jiang Chi straightened up, propping her chin on one hand, blinking with an innocent expression that starkly contrasted her words. “Of course I do. I’m saying I want to seduce you.”
“Big sis, why don’t you tell me how I can successfully seduce you? Seeing you buried in work day after day wouldn’t it be nice to have a friend like me take you out to have some fun?”
She pointed at the documents in Wen Wen’s hands. “Work.” Then turned her finger toward herself. “Life.”
Wen Wen’s fingers paused on the file for barely a tenth of a second before she shook her head imperceptibly. So, this person really wasn’t thinking in that direction.
Before she could flip the page, a hand covered hers. Jiang Chi’s tone brooked no argument. “You’ve worked long enough. Now it’s time for life which means, it’s time to eat with me!”
“Don’t even think about running today! I haven’t even settled the score with you for cheating these past few days!”
Wen Wen glanced at the food containers on the coffee table and moved Jiang Chi’s hand away. “You eat first. I’ll join you after finishing this.”
Jiang Chi measured the distance between Wen Wen’s desk and the sofa about six meters. After a brief hesitation, she nodded and headed over first.
She unpacked the meal boxes one by one, arranging the dishes neatly. Just as she finished, Wen Wen stood from her desk and walked toward the sofa.
Jiang Chi looked up as she approached, her dark, bright eyes gleaming even more, a sweet smile on her lips. “Big sis, your outfit today is so pretty. Let’s go shopping after work, okay? I want to buy a set like this too!”
Wen Wen was dressed in a suit, a white blouse paired with a short black blazer, the hem tucked into her trousers, perfectly accentuating the fullness of her chest and the slenderness of her waist. Combined with her exquisitely sculpted face, she was like a walking enchantress, capable of stealing souls with a glance.
Jiang Chi’s gaze lingered on Wen Wen’s chest before dropping to her own. She didn’t consider herself lacking in that department, but compared to Wen Wen, it was like comparing a spark to a flame.
Noticing her gaze, Wen Wen narrowed her eyes at her: “What are you thinking about?”
Jiang Chi theatrically tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, putting on an exaggeratedly bashful expression: “Promise you won’t get mad if I tell you.”
Wen Wen remained silent, so Jiang Chi continued on her own: “I was wondering, how does it feel?”
Wen Wen gave her a knowing look: “You want to try?”
Jiang Chi’s eyes lit up with excitement, her face full of anticipation: “Really? Can I?”
The smile instantly vanished from Wen Wen’s lips: “No.”
“Okay!” Jiang Chi’s head drooped like a dejected puppy, her voice tinged with disappointment, but she quickly perked up again, “Then how about shopping this afternoon?”
Wen Wen didn’t answer that question. She sat down on the sofa, took a pen and paper from the side, and swiftly wrote something down before sliding it toward Jiang Chi: “The clothes were custom-made here. You can go check it out after lunch.”
A straightforward rejection.
Jiang Chi didn’t even glance at the note: “If you’re not going, then I’m not going either.”
Wen Wen said nothing more and picked up her chopsticks to eat.
Noticing her nails, Jiang Chi abandoned one failed plan and quickly devised another, her eyes gleaming mischievously: “Sis, your manicure looks amazing. If we’re not going shopping, how about you take me to get my nails done instead?”
Wen Wen set down her chopsticks and reached for the note again, but Jiang Chi swiftly stood up and pressed her hand down, leaning in with a fierce expression: “If you don’t agree to this, I swear I’ll follow you everywhere for the rest of the day. I mean it.”
Wen Wen pulled her hand back, frowning slightly: “But I have a lot of work to do today.”
“I’ll wait for you, no matter how late,” Jiang Chi interrupted firmly, leaving no room for refusal. “Don’t try to brush me off with excuses again.”
After delivering her ultimatum, she immediately softened, sitting down beside Wen Wen with a pitiful pout: “Please, sis? You’ve stood me up so many times, and I haven’t even gotten mad.”
She had mastered the art of alternating between threats and pleading.
Wen Wen sighed in resignation: “I really will be very late. Don’t throw a tantrum when that happens.”
Jiang Chi visibly brightened, her mind completely occupied by the fact that “Wen Wen agreed.” She raised three fingers to her temple in a pledge: “I promise I won’t!” Then she sweetly wrapped her arms around Wen Wen’s arm, cooing, “I just want to spend time with you.”
Wen Wen’s pinky finger twitched slightly where it rested on the sofa, but she calmly pushed Jiang Chi away, her tone indifferent: “Let’s eat.”
After the meal, Wen Wen didn’t take a break and immediately returned to her desk to continue working.
Jiang Chi cleaned up the leftovers, then stood by the desk with her arms crossed, complaining: “Are you the boss or an employee here? Can’t you even take a break when you want?”
Without looking up, Wen Wen replied, “I’m working on a big project right now. There’s a lot to follow up on.” She glanced at her briefly. “If you’re bored, you can go do your own thing. I’ll let you know when I’m done.”
“No.” Jiang Chi sat down at the desk. “I said I’d stay with you, so I’m staying with you.”
“You can wait on the sofa if you want. You can lie down if you get tired.”
“No.” Jiang Chi rested her chin on the desk, watching her. “I want to be close to you.”
Wen Wen exhaled. “Fine. But don’t say things like that to me in the future.”
“Why not?” Jiang Chi’s eyes sparkled like stars. “Do my words tempt you?”
Wen Wen ignored her and continued reviewing the documents in her hands.
Time slipped away with the rustling of turning pages. Leaning back in her chair, Wen Wen rubbed her slightly throbbing temples and lowered her gaze only to see Jiang Chi asleep on the desk.
She stood up, adjusted the office air conditioning to a warmer setting, and draped a blanket over her.
Jiang Chi slept peacefully, her long lashes casting faint shadows on her cheeks, deep in slumber.
Wen Wen couldn’t help but lean in a little closer. Just like before unchanged. But when she wakes up later, she’d better not act the same way she used to.
