Two-Faced Girlfriend - Chapter 7.1
As the passion faded, both felt a bit cold.
They sat on the ground, embracing each other, instinctively holding tighter.
Both seemed to want to say something but said nothing and showed nothing, only guessing each other’s thoughts silently in their hearts.
Though it was cold, neither wanted to disturb the moment’s tranquility.
Si Man spoke first because she felt Xu Yawei shivering.
“It’s late. Let’s go back.”
“Okay.”
Xu Yawei felt both relieved and disappointed.
Luckily, their rooms were on the top floor.
They didn’t need the elevator and could return through the quiet fire escape.
With their fame, their disheveled clothes and makeup would cause trouble if someone saw or photographed them.
Xu Yawei followed closely behind Si Man, neither hurrying nor lagging.
At the door, she deliberately paused, silently waiting for Si Man to ask her to stay.
Si Man stopped at the door too and turned to look at Xu Yawei.
Xu Yawei met her deep gaze at that moment.
“Sleep early. Don’t catch a cold.”
Xu Yawei tightened her grip on the doorknob.
“Got it. You too.”
As Xu Yawei opened the door with a click, Si Man quickly said, “Wait.”
Xu Yawei’s heart leapt with joy.
“Yes?”
Si Man reminded her politely but distantly, “My jacket.”
The shift from hope to disappointment came just as fast.
“Sorry, I forgot.”
“It’s fine.”
With another click, the dim hallway held only Xu Yawei…
The next day, Xu Yawei woke to a phone ringing.
During the first call, she dreamt of sleep paralysis and missed it.
Another call came right after, startling her awake.
Exhaustion flooded her body instantly.
Her eyes struggled to open.
Only her manager, Chang Bing, would call twice in a row, and her calls were usually important.
Xu Yawei dragged her heavy body and answered the phone with effort.
“Hello?”
As the ringing stopped, Chang Bing’s anxious voice burst from the receiver.
“My dear, still sleeping? Check Weibo now!”
It must be another scandal.
Xu Yawei quickly reviewed her recent actions in her mind.
Nothing stood out, yet everything seemed outrageous.
Her relationship with Si Man ensured she was always crossing lines.
Fully awake, Xu Yawei grabbed another phone, opened Weibo.
“What happened?”
“You and Si Man got caught by paparazzi.”
Reports about their same-s3x relationship flooded the internet.
Like Xu Yawei, Si Man’s phone was already overwhelmed with calls.
Their rooftop lovemaking was photographed, as was their rehearsal on set.
The rooftop photos were blurry, not showing their exact actions, but paired with the clear, intimate set photos, they sparked wild speculation.
Si Man had just argued with her sister on the phone when urgent knocking sounded.
She didn’t need to guess who it was.
As soon as she opened the door, Xu Yawei blurted out, “Just say we were rehearsing. Say you hate me, we’re not close, you just couldn’t stand my constant NGs, and I’m a talentless actress. Yes, push it all on me. You can’t get in trouble… you can’t…”
Though same-s3x CP hype was trendy, a real same-s3x scandal changed everyone’s attitude instantly.
Without strong backing, being blacklisted and ending a career was certain.
Si Man looked at Xu Yawei coldly.
“You want me to act like nothing happened and cut ties with you? Am I that selfish in your eyes?”
“It’s the best way.”
“I don’t agree. You don’t need to worry about this. I’ll handle it.”
“How will you handle it?”
“Not like you said. You’ll always be mine, my lover.”
Si Man pressed Xu Yawei against the door and kissed her lips.
Xu Yawei felt Si Man’s possessiveness for the first time.
Her gaze was firm, burning with anger and desire.
Lover, forever a lover.
The word “lover” with “forever” didn’t seem so bad.
Xu Yawei closed her eyes, wrapped her arms around Si Man’s neck, and kissed back actively.
Neither cared about the outside world now.
They only wanted to kiss and make love with each other.
The world’s end wasn’t here yet, so let the news, paparazzi, haters, and passersby go to hell.
