Wait, I Got in the Wrong Car (GL) - Chapter 14
A shadow suddenly fell over Mo Ying’s head, blocking her from feeding. As a mermaid, she disliked anyone disturbing her meals, especially strangers.
She lifted her head and glared angrily. With a cold humph, she turned her back like a turtle crawling away.
Oh, what a temper. The man admired the sight. Even her back was enchanting, with golden curls brushing her shoulders and a body scent that was utterly intoxicating.
When he had first glanced at her upon entering, it was only her stunning face and tempting figure that caught his eye. Now he found himself even more intrigued. Perhaps it was a man’s base instinct. The fiercer the temper and the harder the challenge, the more thrilling the conquest, and the more it became a story to boast about later.
“This noble and elegant beauty, may I buy you a drink?”
“……”
The second time already!
Mo Ying’s gem-like green eyes flickered with a trace of golden thread. She looked around and realized Lou Anran, who had gone to order drinks, was nowhere in sight. Frowning, she said, “No. No. Go away.”
Her voice was soft but fierce.
The man nearly lost control hearing her tender tone. He imagined holding such a doll-like girl in his arms and listening to her make those spoiled sounds. His gaze slid shamelessly toward her chest. His peach-blossom eyes darkened with desire, which added vulgarity to his otherwise handsome face.
Several black strands filled the air. Mo Ying realized they came from this man. She waved her fist as if shooing a fly. “If you come closer, I will hit you.”
The man was already weak at her feet. He reached out, trying to grab her small fist. “They say hitting means affection and scolding means love. If you want, little beauty, we can go somewhere private to fight.”
Mo Ying had been starving all night. She had only filled her stomach a little with Lou Anran earlier and finally found a few stray strands here. She did not want to waste her energy on this man. Just as she was about to lose her temper, she saw Lou Anran.
She slapped away his dirty hand and stood up, ready to run to her.
But the man blocked her path like a hawk snaring a chick. She stepped to the left, and he stepped to the left. Twice she tried, twice he blocked her. Furious, she avoided his grasping claws. “If you do not move, I will be very angry.”
Very angry. Angry enough to explode.
Lou Anran arrived just in time to see her little one puffed up like a pufferfish. She quickened her steps and heard the man drawl shamelessly, “Little beauty, anger makes you sexier. Come into brother’s arms. Brother will love you.”
Lou Anran’s gaze swept coldly around. Most of the drunkards were minding their own drinks. A few watched with idle amusement. Even the bartender only polished glasses and peeked now and then. Clearly, such scenes were far too common.
“Hey, you dropped your money.”
“What?”
The man felt a pat on his shoulder. He heard a voice tell him that he had dropped money. Reflexively, he looked down. In that instant, powerful hands pressed his shoulders down. Lou Anran’s knee drove hard into his stomach, forcing him to his knees.
“Damn it.”
“Brother Qian!”
“Boss Qian!”
The entire act lasted only seconds. Many had no time to react before seeing the man who harassed Mo Ying curled on the floor, clutching his stomach with cold sweat dripping from his forehead. “You b1tch, how dare you hit me.”
Mo Ying’s eyes widened in astonishment. She saw that after Lou Anran’s strike, the emotional strands in the room multiplied. She clapped gleefully. “Wow, amazing.”
She had expected only scraps but instead found a banquet awaiting her.
Lou Anran was glad she had chosen pants tonight. They proved their worth. She stretched out her hand to the girl who seemed delighted rather than scared. “Come, let’s go.”
Boss Qian clutched the booth for support. “You think you can hit me and walk away? Not so easy.”
Mo Ying did not want to leave. She quickly sucked in the strands. She heard Lou Anran ask coldly, “Then what solution do you propose?”
Lou Anran touched the black diamond earring on her ear as three burly men surrounded them. The other patrons paid hastily and slipped away. A few wanted to intervene but were dragged back by their companions.
“Heh. Beauty, why not spend the night with the three of us?” Their eyes roved over Lou Anran with greedy hunger. Boss Qian generously pointed to Mo Ying. “That little one is mine. You two can take her.”
“All three at once?” Lou Anran sneered and looked them over. Her voice dripped contempt. “It seems you have the size but no strength. Water is already spilling.”
Mo Ying saw purplish red strands appear around Lou Anran again. She licked her lips, craving more. After struggling, she pushed through the crowd to clutch Lou Anran’s wrist, clinging like a dependent child. The gesture made Lou Anran’s heart bloom with joy.
Unfortunately, the place was wrong.
Lou Anran pulled her behind. “Stay close. Do not run.”
Mo Ying rested her head lazily on her shoulder, sipping the strands while eyeing the four men. Over their heads floated only dark gray strands, like those litterbugs from before.
“What is your decision, beauty?”
“Little one, last time you made me cover my eyes. Now it is your turn.”
“Why?”
The two conversed as if no one else existed. Mo Ying refused, and Lou Anran could not force her. She stroked her earring. “Will you call out?”
Mo Ying’s breath was warm against her ear. A shiver slid into her heart. “Call what?”
Lou Anran stiffened, pinched herself to stay steady, and suddenly cried, “Ah!”
Her four shouts rose and fell. The men were baffled. Mo Ying, however, mimicked her perfectly. She was a brilliant little mermaid. There was nothing she could not learn.
Her soft voice carried a unique purity.
Lou Anran nearly melted at the sound. “When I fight them, you will support me. Call out loudly. Will you?”
The men still had no idea what they were plotting. Yet they were sure these two beauties showed no fear. Boss Qian barked, “Grab them. I do not believe they will resist.”
Lou Anran calmly picked up a wine bottle from the table. With a loud crack, she smashed it on the corner, leaving a jagged edge. “Come, try me.”
“Ah—” Mo Ying cried out.
This was the fourth cry, an extra one that did not follow Lou Anran’s lead.
Boss Qian’s stomach still ached, but he refused to admit defeat at a woman’s hand. The first strike had been a surprise. This time he called his brothers and charged.
Cunningly, he separated Lou Anran from Mo Ying. “Come, sweetheart. Into brother’s arms. Brother will cherish you—”
Mo Ying screamed. Lou Anran’s heart skipped a beat. The glass bottle in her hand had just sliced a thug’s arm. She turned quickly and saw Boss Qian slam his own head on the table. The sound made everyone’s skull ache.
Mo Ying squeaked like a frightened prairie dog, circling the booth and rushing back behind Lou Anran. Guilty, she stammered, “He… he hit himself. Not me.”
Another wiry man grabbed Lou Anran’s arm. Before he could hold her, she twisted, kicked, and sent him flying. Her sharp high heel landed mercilessly between his legs. His scream woke those asleep in Moonlight. He clutched himself, his face turning purple as he hopped in agony.
“Right there, that is the one!” A man entered with the police, just as dawn’s light streamed in.
The plainclothes officer frowned at the chaotic scene. “Are you sure they were harassing these two girls?”
The drunk man who had left earlier rubbed his eyes and nodded. “Yes, it was them.”
Several booths lay overturned. Boss Qian staggered to his feet, clutching his head, and shouted blindly, “Those two bitches, I will kill them.”
The officer no longer needed confirmation. He strode over and snapped, “Kill who? Since you have time, come with us.”
Everyone involved had to go to the station and give statements. The main parties had no chance to escape.
This was Mo Ying’s second time at the station. The first had been strange, but the second felt familiar. She clung to Lou Anran’s arm. “Did I sound good just now?”
Lou Anran’s heart thudded hard. She kissed the girl’s forehead. “Perfect. But next time, call only for me. Do not add an extra cry on your own next time.”
The night ended in danger but also in safety. Mo Ying had eaten her fill and leaned against Lou Anran’s shoulder, drifting into sleep.
Chu Shu received the call from the station, and her toothbrush slipped from her hand in shock. She rushed over and saw her boss with the little beauty leaning close, their foreheads touching. A beam of golden light spilled through the window and softened Lou Anran’s sharp features with an unexpected gentleness.
Chu Shu froze, holding her breath. She felt that if she stepped forward, the tranquil scene would break apart.
“What nonsense is this, Lou Xiaohei? You had better explain why our sweetheart ended up in the station with you!”
