Wait, I Got in the Wrong Car (GL) - Chapter 17
Which bastard got my sister pregnant?
Mo Ying blinked. “Huh?”
Yu Xuan was about to explode. Especially when she saw her little Fifth half-floating in the water with her golden tail happily swaying from side to side. “You really don’t know you’re carrying a baby fish?”
Mo Ying turned into a dazed little fish on the spot. Her wide emerald eyes stared down at the golden flower bud on her belly that had already unfurled two petals. Then she looked up at her sister’s darkening eyes, back and forth several times, completely puzzled. “How could this not be a tattoo?”
She had clearly seen a thorned rose on Ni Xinyu’s waist before. It had color too, but it was not nearly as beautiful as hers.
And hers could bloom on its own.
“Ni Xinyu’s flower is also very pretty.”
“Ni Xinyu?”
Was that not the shameless agent they had just seen?
Mo Ying nodded seriously. She pointed to a lower part of her waist. “Her flower is a flaming red rose, fully bloomed. The color is the same as your tail, Fourth Sister. The thorns are green, and the two colors look amazing together. Mine was closed at first. Lately, two petals have opened. So mine looks better than hers.”
Floating in the water, Mo Ying gestured where Ni Xinyu’s tattoo was, in a place that could only be glimpsed faintly.
Seeing her so eager to praise Ni Xinyu, she looked like a silly girl who had accidentally fallen into a love scam. From Mo Ying’s few direct and clumsy words, Yu Xuan already pictured the indecent scenes of Ni Xinyu luring her little sister with sweet talk under the guise of being her agent.
Filthy deals.
Unspoken rules of the entertainment industry.
Yu Xuan barely managed to suppress her rising fury. Her forehead veins throbbed as she reached out and gently poked the soft flesh of Mo Ying’s stomach. It felt just as tender as her cheeks. “You silly little thing. What kind of tattoo grows on your belly and blooms on its own? This is not a tattoo. You’re pregnant with a baby fish. These golden markings are not just a flower bud. They are a sign of mermaid pregnancy. Right now, you are a protected pregnant mermaid.”
“Ah—”
Mo Ying was completely stunned. Her mind echoed with the words, “You’re pregnant with a baby fish,” over and over. Then she thought of Lou Anran, the one who had mated with her. Looking down again at the flower bud that signified she had a baby, she let out a splash and dove underwater, disappearing in a flash.
Yu Xuan only caught sight of her golden tail flashing through the sea and immediately dove in after her. A red tail whipped behind her. But when she surfaced again, Mo Ying had vanished.
“Xiao Wu, don’t be rash! Come back!”
In terms of speed, no one could outrun Mo Ying. If she wanted to avoid them, they could turn the ocean upside down and still not find her.
Yu Xuan screamed into the sea with frustration. She regretted blurting out the truth without considering how her little sister would react. Her mind was filled with scenes of dragging the bastard who hurt her Xiao Wu into the ocean and feeding him to the sharks. Waves crashed onto the shore with a roar, echoing her anger. Only when the sun dipped below the horizon and the sky turned dark did she drag her legs back to shore, utterly exhausted.
By the time she returned to the house, it was completely dark. She turned on the light and saw a trail of wet footprints.
Suspicious puddles marked the plush carpet. Stepping on them, her feet squelched. The dotted trail of water curved from the grand living room to the winding staircase, then veered into the backyard. There, the heated pool shimmered under the moonlight, and a golden tail darted from left to right, then zipped back from right to left.
Yu Xuan exhaled slowly, calming herself. “Xiao Wu, when did you come back?”
“Just now.”
Mo Ying floated at the bottom of the pool, only her brilliant green eyes visible above the surface. She carefully studied Yu Xuan’s expression. The older woman slipped her legs into the water with a faint look of guilt. Her red tail stirred the pool’s warmth and scooped a handful of water, which she poured onto Mo Ying’s head.
“Ah, Fourth Sister.”
“You ran off and scared me. This is your little punishment.”
Yu Xuan knew how sensitive Mo Ying was to emotion. She dared not show the slightest anger, not even in her thoughts. Luckily, she had vented earlier in the sea. Now, she could calmly accompany her little sister in the pool.
But this matter with Ni Xinyu would not be forgotten. She would settle it properly.
Like old times, the two mermaids chased each other in the confined pool. Their tails smacked the walls with loud splashes, water soaking them from head to fin. They were thoroughly enjoying themselves.
Once they were tired out, the two mermaids rested by the pool’s edge. Their tails flicked lazily. Yu Xuan’s red tail paled in color and length next to Mo Ying’s golden one. She gently played with Mo Ying’s shimmering curls while listening to her hum a familiar tune.
It was the whale shark song she often sang.
“Do you like the house I prepared for you?”
Mo Ying narrowed her eyes contentedly, her tail swaying gently. “I love it. So, so much.”
It was a thousand times better than the one arranged by the company. This one had an ocean view and a huge pool where she could even sleep undisturbed. In Lou Anran’s house, she always locked herself in the bathtub to sleep, fearing that Xiao Ai or Xiao Qiu might discover her tail if they heard a sound.
For a moment, she forgot something important.
Just as Mo Ying was about to fall asleep, Yu Xuan suddenly spoke. “Xiao Wu, give birth to the baby fish. Your brothers and sisters will help you raise it.”
Mo Ying jolted awake. Her tail drooped, and she sank into the water, resting her cheek on her wrist and swaying from side to side like a child in despair.
Yu Xuan did not push her. She began untangling Mo Ying’s messy curls, patiently combing them through, strand by strand. Inwardly, though, she seethed. One day, she would drag Ni Xinyu, that wolf in sheep’s clothing, into the sea and feed her to the sharks.
Mo Ying mumbled miserably. “Fourth Sister, am I really having a baby fish?”
Yu Xuan studied the golden flower bud on her belly, her eyes dimming. “Unless something changes, you probably are. Have you felt anything different lately?”
There were so many changes.
- After her differentiation, a scale with a name had appeared on the back of her neck.
- Lately, she had been ravenous. Before, she could devour any emotion, never picky. But now she felt nauseated at food laced with malice. At that bar called ‘Moonlight’, she had nearly thrown up just looking at the black tendrils in the air.
- And the strangest part was the flower bud on her belly. It played hide and seek with her.
Without hesitation, Mo Ying began listing them one by one, like precious discoveries. By the end, she even pouted in grievance. “No wonder I’ve been so hungry and tired lately. This baby fish is stealing all my food!”
The changes sounded exactly like symptoms of pregnancy. But Yu Xuan was more focused on what Mo Ying said about the scale.
“You said a name appeared on the scale behind your neck? What name? Let me see.”
Mo Ying did not really like anyone touching the back of her neck, but she reluctantly lifted her hair. “Fourth Sister, do all mermaids grow a scale there after differentiation? Do you have one? Let me see yours.”
Her nape was bare, white as the rest of her skin.
Yu Xuan paused. “Is the name on your scale your own?”
Lou Anran.
Lou Annie.
Mo Ying had hoped it would be her name, but she had checked several times and knew the truth. She quickly changed the subject. “Fourth Sister, you did not see it clearly. Want to check again?”
It would not help. Yu Xuan could not see it.
With a calm expression, she gently lowered Mo Ying’s hair. Then she steered the conversation back to the unborn baby. “Xiao Wu, what do you want to do?”
Mo Ying flicked her tail. Before Yu Xuan had said anything, she had been chatting with her ‘tattoo’ like a friend. Once a petal bloomed, she had even imagined it had a will of its own.
No one talked to her when she played in the water.
But now, she had a shy little flower bud.
Mo Ying said, “I like her.”
Yu Xuan quietly exhaled in relief. But before she could feel truly at ease, Mo Ying suddenly reached out and lifted her long red hair, peering at her neck. Yu Xuan turned slightly so the curious girl could see.
“Xiao Wu, I am not like you. When I became an adult, I did not grow a scale like yours.”
“Why not?”
Yu Xuan looked at her with a fond, helpless smile. “Because you are the ocean’s chosen one. Not every mermaid gets a golden tail like yours.”
Mo Ying only half understood, but she heard the compliment. Her sleepy eyes fluttered. “Fourth Sister, I feel a little tired again.”
Yu Xuan saw her nodding off beside the pool, struggling to stay awake. “Go to sleep. I will make sure no one disturbs you.”
Just before drifting off, one last thought crossed Mo Ying’s mind.
She must find the big jerk who got her pregnant.
Unfortunately, the thought lasted one second before she fell into a deep sleep.
Yu Xuan stayed by her side for half the day. When she was certain her Xiao Wu was sound asleep in the pool, she got up and made a call. “Find out everything about a certain person. I want their entire history.”
Once the call ended, she changed clothes and sat quietly in the grand living room. There, she watched a recording of the little mermaid’s livestream that had gone viral. On screen, the girl swayed her head, humming a song now famously remixed into a cheeky parody.
“Second Brother, Second Brother, you are so amazing…”
“You cheeky Xiao Wu. Still thinking about Second Brother.”
…
The next morning, she had not yet gone to confront the culprit. Instead, that shameless woman came knocking first. It shattered Yu Xuan’s understanding of just how thick-skinned people could be.
“Who said you could knock on my door so early? I could report you for disturbing the peace.”
Yu Xuan wore a black, lacy nightgown. One leg rested against the doorframe as she looked down at the woman before her. Her contemptuous gaze only fueled Ni Xinyu’s rising anger.
Ni Xinyu slammed her hand on the door. Her jaw clenched. “You think I want to come to the house of a voyeuristic pervert? Kindly tell sweetheart to come out. I am here to take her to the company.”
Yu Xuan scoffed. “Me, a pervert? And what are you? A manipulative agent who toys with people’s feelings? Or a lustful hypocrite?”
As soon as Yu Xuan mentioned deceit and love, the atmosphere ignited. It was like both women were sitting on barrels of explosives, ready to blow each other to bits.
Ni Xinyu took a deep breath, forcing a pleasant smile to mask her fury. She refused to let Yu Xuan drag Anchen Entertainment’s reputation through the mud just because she showed up angry. “If you want to talk about being a player, I could never match you, Miss Yu. Didn’t you once lure a fan to jump off a building for you? Forgotten that story?”
On the contrary, Yu Xuan remembered it vividly. Back when she was a young mermaid entering showbiz, she had been blindsided by that scandal. A fan named Bao Xinran had stood atop a twenty-two-story building, screaming accusations that Yu Xuan had slept with her and then abandoned her. Yu Xuan had not even known the girl’s name at the time.
The incident nearly ruined her career. Since then, haters had swarmed her like shrimp in the sea.
Even now, people dug up that old story to shame her. But this woman in front of her might just be worse than all of them.
Yu Xuan traced faint scratches into the door with her other hand. Her smile was dazzling, but her eyes were lethal. “Such a trivial thing. Why would I care? Unlike you, I am not bored enough to trick innocent artists into your net. But our Xiao Wu will not play along.”
Bang.
The door nearly smacked Ni Xinyu in the nose.
“What the hell is wrong with her?”
Still, the dreaded contract termination came just as Yu Xuan had predicted. Ni Xinyu leaned against the cold wall to calm down. Then she knocked again.
The sea breeze lifted her clothes, revealing a secret tattoo that trailed just beneath her waist. A beautiful rose bloomed among green thorns.
Behind the door, Yu Xuan had not moved an inch. She watched everything through the peephole. Not a single flicker of expression escaped her notice.
Only after the woman knocked persistently for more than ten minutes did Yu Xuan finally open the door again.
“So, have you thought it through? Want to settle this privately, or follow procedure?”
Ni Xinyu’s palms were red from knocking. Seeing Yu Xuan’s smug expression only made her angrier. If she had a hammer, she might have used it.
“I am not here to talk with you. Let me see Mo Ying.”
Yu Xuan stood tall, blocking the way like a wall. “You? Not a chance.”
“Mo Ying is her own person, not your obedient little pet. Stop pretending you are doing what is best for her. Before you came, she told me herself she wanted to join a talent show.”
A talent show?
So she used the old ‘unspoken rules’ trick?
Yu Xuan’s fury spiked. She could not believe Ni Xinyu would go that far just for a show. “I have seen women like you. Shameless and ruthless. If you do not disappear this instant, I will toss you into the sea myself.”
Shameless?
Who was the real shameless one?
Ni Xinyu reminded herself she was doing this for work. She gripped her bag tightly, resisting the urge to swing it at Yu Xuan’s smug face.
“Are you two fighting?”
“I’m hungry.”
Those two words from Mo Ying silenced them both.
Yu Xuan threw Ni Xinyu a vicious glare, then immediately put on a gentle, caring expression. “Xiao Wu, what kind of fish would you like? I will go catch one for you.”
Ni Xinyu sneered. “Go ahead. Bring back a whale shark if you can. Just try not to drown.”
Mo Ying secretly sucked in the emotional energy floating in the room, then stuck out her pink tongue. “Whale sharks are my friends. You cannot eat them. I’ll go find food myself.”
Just like that night, the familiar hunger had woken her again. Now that she knew she was carrying a baby fish, she was less flustered.
Because now, there were two of them.
Yu Xuan understood what she meant by finding food. She thought hard. “There are a few concerts happening soon. I will take you to one.”
Mo Ying was delighted at first, then she slapped her belly with a mournful look. “But we can’t wait. I’m starving every second, I feel like I could eat someone.”
She bared her teeth at them like a mischievous little ghost, her cuteness feisty and fierce.
Ni Xinyu had the urge to pinch the sweetheart’s face, but with Mo Ying’s legitimate yet psychotic Fourth Sister present, she restrained the impulse. “Sweetheart, there’s a preliminary audition event today. Get ready and come with me.”
Yu Xuan’s radar for danger flared instantly. “What audition? Not going.”
After starving twice, Mo Ying was determined to get back to work. After giving her statement at the police station, she had seen a young female officer chasing after a singing competition on TV. It had made her crave the spotlight.
As the two women exchanged words, tension once again flared between them, with red threads of energy drifting throughout the room. Ideally, Mo Ying only had to sit down and start feeding. But ever since she started carrying a baby fish in her belly, her sense of taste had changed. Worse, her appetite had become a bottomless pit.
“Fourth Sister, I need to go. I’ll explain everything after I’ve eaten.”
Yu Xuan fell silent.
Ni Xinyu glanced sideways at Yu Xuan, her look subtly triumphant. “Such an ambitious young woman, our sweetheart. Let’s go. By the way, do you want to change into another outfit?”
It wasn’t that she had a problem with Mo Ying’s clothes. However, wearing the same thing every day did not leave the best impression, even if the outfit looked pristine and just as striking as the first time she had seen it.
Xiao Ai and Xiao Qiu had tried changing Mo Ying’s wardrobe before. Every attempt had ended in failure. Regardless of the brand, no matter how luxurious the clothes, within minutes they would cause a rash to break out on her skin. Fortunately, that Lou Xiaohei had a shred of conscience and had invited the world’s most fashionable designer. With luck, the wardrobe issue would be resolved before filming began.
Mo Ying tugged at her dress. “I need to change again?”
Yu Xuan was reluctant to let Mo Ying follow an unscrupulous agent to a questionable audition, yet she still brought the girl upstairs and opened a wardrobe filled with stylish outfits. All of them were mature in style. Off-shoulder, backless, midriff-baring, sheer fabrics.
Mo Ying held a few up and silently put them back.
Yu Xuan rummaged through the corners of the wardrobe for something she had tossed aside years ago and tried to persuade her. “Xiao Wu, the human world is complicated. It’s not as simple as you think. If you’re hungry, Fourth Sister will find food for you. Wouldn’t that be better?”
Mo Ying replied, “No. Fourth Sister needs to eat too. Then there won’t be enough for both of us.”
Yu Xuan fell quiet, her fingers tightening around a piece of cloth before she finally let go and looked up as if nothing had happened. “You’re very thoughtful, Xiao Wu. But you must promise me that while you’re pregnant with the baby fish, no one is allowed to take your clothes off.”
Undressing was only necessary for mating.
Mo Ying suddenly recalled that embarrassing night and darted her eyes around. “Fourth Sister, no one can take my clothes off.”
But someone might coax you into doing it yourself, you little fool.
After a long search, Yu Xuan finally pulled out two sky-blue dresses from a dusty corner. She tossed them to Mo Ying with visible distaste. “Second Brother made these years ago. Not really my style. See if you can wear them.”
One was sky-blue, the other royal blue.
Mo Ying’s figure was similar to Yu Xuan’s. The pleated sky-blue dress fit her perfectly, as if tailored just for her. She admired herself in the mirror, spinning several times on tiptoe. She looked like a lotus in bloom after a rain shower.
“Second Brother is amazing. The clothes he made are so beautiful. They make me look even prettier.”
Yu Xuan nodded. “Yes, yes. Once the baby fish is born, we’ll have Second Brother come back and make clothes for it. Won’t that be nice?”
Mo Ying beamed. “Very nice. But where is Second Brother now?”
Yu Xuan wrapped the other dress neatly. “Years ago, he said he was going overseas to find his muse. Who knows if he ever did.”
Mo Ying’s eyes widened. Second Brother had become a rich foreign fish? She needed to work harder. “Fourth Sister, I’m starving. I’m going to find food.”
Yu Xuan watched her dash down the stairs. By the time she had brought down the other dress, Ni Xinyu had already peeled away in the car, leaving only a blur behind. Yu Xuan gritted her teeth. “Unreliable agent. Unreliable company. One day, I’ll find her a better one.”
Ni Xinyu glanced at Mo Ying leaning out the car window into the wind and remembered Lou Anran’s warning. She quietly raised the window and eased off the gas. “Sweetheart, are you sure you want to go to the audition? Why not consider what your Fourth Sister said?”
Before, she never would have offered this option. But after spending time with Mo Ying, she realized how pure and innocent the girl was. No wonder Yu Xuan was constantly on edge.
If she had such a cute and beautiful, not to mention naive, younger sister, she would guard her like a treasure too, never letting anyone come close.
Mo Ying knew little about talent shows. But she did know that the more people paid attention to her, the more food she could absorb.
She could not be a fish that just waited to be fed. She had to gather enough food for the baby fish.
The more she thought about it, the heavier the burden felt.
Weak from hunger, she curled up in the passenger seat, hugging her legs. “If I join the audition, will more people listen to me sing than on the livestream?”
Ni Xinyu patiently explained. “Of course not. The audition is just the first step. If you sing well and people like you, you’ll pass through each round. In the finals, you’ll stand on the big stage. You might even debut. Then it’s possible to have your own concert.”
Mo Ying barely understood, but she caught the last part. Holding her own concert.
“Has my Fourth Sister ever had a concert?”
Ha.
There was a long silence. Mo Ying turned to look at Ni Xinyu. “My Fourth Sister sings really well. I’m sure she’s had concerts.”
Ni Xinyu did not want to admit it, but she had to. Yu Xuan might not be a good person, but her singing was exceptional. Otherwise, she would not have fans going crazy for her every year.
“She has. Many times… Wait, sweetheart, have you never heard your Fourth Sister sing at home?”
These two were impossible to read. They looked close enough to make others jealous, yet when they first met, they did not even know each other’s names.
Ni Xinyu had never encountered such a puzzling sibling relationship.
“Lou Xiaohei!”
“What?”
As they reached their destination and the car came to a halt, Mo Ying slapped the window excitedly. “Lou Xiaohei, Lou Xiaohei, it’s Lou Xiaohei!”
She looked like a fangirl spotting her idol.
Ni Xinyu followed her gaze and caught a glimpse of Lou Anran’s elegant figure disappearing. Clearly, she had not noticed them; otherwise, she would not have walked off so quickly.
“Sweetheart, remember what you promised me. Stay away from her. That woman eats people alive and loves tricking naive little girls like you.”
She removed the keys and opened the door. “Be good. Let’s try the audition first.”
Mo Ying jumped out of the car and ran in Lou Anran’s direction.
Ni Xinyu turned around just in time to see her darting figure.
Her sweetheart had run off. Worse, she was chasing after Lou Anran!
In a panic, Ni Xinyu slammed the car door shut and hurried after her in ten-centimeter heels, struggling to pull out her phone and call Lou Anran. As soon as the line connected, she shouted, “Lou Xiaohei, what did you do to my sweetheart? Why is she running after you like a moth to a flame?”
Lou Anran was just stepping into the elevator. She froze at the accusation. “What nonsense are you talking about? Think before you speak.”
Click.
The call was cut off without mercy. Ni Xinyu nearly exploded with rage. She stormed inside.
Meanwhile, Mo Ying had not caught up. Instead, she took a wrong turn in the maze of the office building. Every hallway led to an exit.
She could not even spot Lou Xiaohei’s silhouette anymore. When she tried turning back to find Ni Xinyu, she did not know which way to go.
“Hey, do you remember me?”
“???”
Mo Ying looked blankly at the woman who had appeared out of nowhere. She had long black hair and greeted her with a smile, looking very familiar.
Lou Annie had come to invite Lou Anran to a family dinner on their father’s orders. But since she had not made an appointment, the receptionist had stopped her. After waiting downstairs for more than an hour without success, she was about to leave when Mo Ying’s confused little face wandered into view.
The girl looked like she was searching for someone.
Lou Annie’s last memory of her was in Lou Anran’s car at Annie Plaza. That fleeting glance had left a deep impression.
Mo Ying tried to step past her, but Lou Annie moved to block her path. “We met in Lou Anran’s car before. I even greeted you. Don’t you remember?”
Mo Ying had been in Lou Xiaohei’s car twice. Once to a hotel, once to the police station.
Lou Annie.
She remembered now.
The super scummy woman in the book who kept stringing along the book’s version of Mo Ying. It had infuriated her.
She glared at Lou Annie, gave a snort, and tried to walk away again. She needed to find that big pig’s hoof Lou Anran.
Why look for her?
Mo Ying thought about it and decided it didn’t matter. She would just go.
Lou Annie, seeing the girl ignore her, rubbed her nose in frustration. But remembering the endless gossip linking Mo Ying to Lou Anran, she trotted after her.
“Are you and my sister together?” she asked, then quickly added, “I’m Lou Annie. My sister is Lou Anran.”
Mo Ying turned left. Lou Annie followed. Mo Ying turned right. Lou Annie followed.
No matter where she went, Lou Annie blocked her.
“You’re so annoying.”
Lou Annie found her pouting adorably fun. Compared to the little devil back home, this girl was a sweet little angel. Too bad she had gotten tangled up with Lou Anran.
“Let me tell you a secret. Don’t get involved with my sister. She has a fiancée. She’ll never marry you.”
Mo Ying’s stomach growled. This Lou scum was still babbling. She glared, fists clenched. “I’m getting angry. If you don’t leave, I’ll hit you.”
She sized Lou Annie up, wondering if her body could withstand a hit from her tail. Then she glanced around the lobby. Too many people. A few were already watching.
Not the best idea.
Lou Annie wanted to continue, but Mo Ying’s phone rang. She froze, then pulled it out and answered without looking.
On the other end, a dragon’s roar blasted through the speaker.
“You little brat! Where did you go?! I broke a heel trying to find you! You have three minutes to get to the nineteenth floor!”
Ni Xinyu had stormed into Lou Anran’s office, exchanged a few sharp words, then realized the girl they were arguing over hadn’t shown up.
“I don’t even know where I am…”
Lou Annie almost burst out laughing. She grabbed the phone. “She’s at the first-floor bar lounge. Better send someone to get her.”
Since Chu Shu wasn’t around, Lou Anran’s other assistant came to fetch her. Lou Annie insisted on tagging along. “Don’t tell me my sister’s not in. If she can go up, so can I.”
In the elevator, Mo Ying stuck close to a corner, avoiding Lou Annie like she was contagious.
Lou Annie looked herself over, confused. “I just told you my name. Don’t you have a name too?”
Mo Ying stared at the floor numbers. Please hurry up.
When they reached the nineteenth floor, Ni Xinyu was waiting. Just as she reached for Mo Ying’s cheek, she noticed Lou Annie nearby.
“You. Come out. Now.”
Mo Ying marched into the office with fury. “Lou Xiaohei!”
Pfft.
Lou Anran’s eyes darkened. “What did you just call me?”
“Lou Xiaohei.”
Pfft hahahaha.
Ni Xinyu laughed until she almost ran out of breath. She had never felt so pleased, especially seeing Lou Anran’s twitching expression.
“Don’t glare at me. I taught her that. Think about it. Aren’t you the blackest-hearted Lou of them all?”
Lou Annie giggled uncontrollably. It was her first time learning that Lou Anran had a nickname.
Lou Xiaohei?
Lou Anran’s expression darkened further. Seeing the two laughing women, she pointed coldly. “Throw those two irrelevant people out.”
Lou Annie tried to argue, but when she saw Ni Xinyu willingly leave, she followed and warned the assistant, “My dad said to remind Big Sister to come home for dinner. If she doesn’t, it’s because you didn’t pass the message.”
Ni Xinyu leaned against the wall outside the office with folded arms and scoffed. “Childish.”
…
Once the irrelevant crowd had been cleared out, Lou Anran’s mood improved. Especially seeing the little girl puffed up like she had been bullied, she softened.
“Don’t follow Ni Xinyu’s bad example. Do I look black-hearted to you?”
Normally, Mo Ying would defend her. But this time, she only glared with all the fierceness she could muster. Her expression practically said, I’m really, really mad!
Lou Anran had already heard Ni Xinyu’s tirade and more or less understood what had happened. She could not help but pinch the girl’s soft cheek. It felt so nice that she wanted to keep touching it.
“You came running all this way to see me. Did you miss me?”
Mo Ying was starving, and the more she thought about it, the more aggrieved she felt. “It’s all your fault. I’m pregnant with your baby fish!”
