Wait, I Got in the Wrong Car (GL) - Chapter 30
The hand wrapped around Mo Ying’s waist suddenly tightened. Lou Anran’s voice dropped with displeasure. “What is it? You want to go back on something you did yourself?”
Mo Ying prided herself on being a mermaid who took responsibility. She strained her little fish brain, trying to recall last night’s events. She vaguely remembered brushing her tail against Lou Xiaohei’s legs… Her eyes darted. “Can you even fall in love properly?”
What she was looking for was a girlfriend who actually knew how to love.
Lou Anran had a pretty good idea of what was running through that little fish head. Her jade-like fingers tapped gently along Mo Ying’s soft waist. Their foreheads touched. “Why don’t you experience it for yourself? Then you’ll know whether I’m a good lover.”
The way Lou Anran touched her felt so good, especially since they already had some physical history. Mo Ying didn’t hesitate too long. She nodded. “Alright. Then, Lou Xiaohei, you’re my little girlfriend now.”
Lou Anran couldn’t hold back a soft laugh. “Gladly. It’s an honor.”
At the end of it, she placed a reverent kiss on Mo Ying’s forehead. “That’s my mark on you. From now on, you belong to me.”
Mo Ying felt her forehead lightly brushed by Lou Anran’s warm and slightly dry lips. The kiss was brief, yet the rough texture was unfamiliar and unexpected. Still, it was not unpleasant. She couldn’t help but look up, staring at those alluring lips. “Should I leave a mark on you too?”
Her gaze slid downward from Lou Anran’s sharply defined face, clearly in search of the perfect spot.
Maybe her look was too intense. Lou Anran smiled faintly and leaned in. She pressed her lips to the one that had practically invited her in. Mo Ying had been tricked before and this time kept her lips sealed. Lou Anran’s tongue playfully coaxed, brushing lightly like a tease, but Mo Ying refused to give in.
Lou Anran tried a few other tactics. As if punishing her, she caught Mo Ying’s lip and slowly nibbled. She was unhurried, savoring every moment as though tasting a rare delicacy.
The tingling sensation from her lower lip was like being swarmed by a dozen tiny ants. Mo Ying had sunbathed on the beach before. The sensation of ants crawling under her scales was a familiar sort of itchy discomfort. She puffed out her cheeks, wanting to escape. But the bathroom stall was too narrow, and Lou Anran’s strong arms were locked tightly around her waist. “Lou—mmph—”
Lou Anran cupped her chin, forcing the little one to tilt her head. Their lips and tongues tangled together, and the wet, smacking sounds echoed in the confined space. Anyone who heard it would blush.
Clack, clack clack.
Footsteps approached. The chase between lips halted, but the intimate sounds still lingered in the air. The sharp click of high heels came closer. Mo Ying froze, her eyes wide like a startled kitten.
Lou Anran could feel the tension running through Mo Ying’s small body. The little one held her breath so tightly her face flushed. Lou Anran whispered, “Sweetheart, you can breathe now.”
Mo Ying let out a slow breath of relief.
They stayed still, listening carefully. Someone outside was knocking on each bathroom stall. Lou Anran even felt Mo Ying’s abdomen tighten when she tried to suck in air. She reached out and gently touched her belly. Only after the person moved on did she speak again. “Sweetheart, for the baby fish’s sake, no more alcohol for a while.”
Mo Ying, “!!!”
Lou Anran saw her dazed reaction and figured this girl was probably clueless about motherhood. She took some time to explain the effects alcohol could have on a fetus. “And you’re a singer too. Protecting your voice is just as important.”
Mo Ying gasped and shook her head quickly. “I won’t drink again. I really won’t.”
Lou Anran, pleased with the result, smiled and helped fix her hair. Her slender fingers threaded through the silky strands and brushed against a cold pendant. “Go ahead and have fun.”
Mo Ying’s eyes twitched as she studied Lou Anran from head to toe. She didn’t give up. “Alright. Next time, I’ll leave a mark on you, too.”
Lou Anran’s lips curled. She gently wiped off the leftover lipstick on Mo Ying’s forehead and lips.
Mo Ying returned in unusually high spirits, glowing with vitality. That energy radiated a special kind of charm that caught the attention of all three of her companions.
Wanqi Tianxin tilted her head. “She went to the bathroom and came back like a whole new person.”
Wu Si gave her a helpless look, like watching a happy fool. “I think we shouldn’t tell her the cruel stuff. It might mess up her performance.”
Chen Ruiling said nothing. She looked like she had something to say, but decided against it.
Mo Ying had gotten herself a girlfriend. It felt like she had discovered a rare piece of ocean jade in a treasure chest. The novelty filled her with joy, and she wanted to tell the whole world. But before she could share the good news, Lou Annie walked through the door and ruined everything.
Lou Annie smiled. “Hello everyone. I’m Lou Annie. I hope we’ll get along during this time.”
She had just performed an unusual self-written, self-directed rap piece on stage. The judges rated her highly and placed her in Group C. If her vocal skills had been stronger, she might have made it to Group A.
After finishing her formal greeting, her gaze instantly locked onto the golden-haired beauty in the corner. She let out a quiet hum and strode straight toward Mo Ying.
Mo Ying, “!!”
The problem had arrived.
She patted the shoulders of the trio in front of her. “I’m leaving first.”
Before they could react, she dashed off like oil on fire. Lou Annie followed close behind but was stopped at the door by a staff member. “We’re assigning rooms now. No wandering around. Also, hand over your phone.”
Lou Annie, “…”
Fine. If they were under the same roof, she would definitely settle this with that little troublemaker who had publicly shamed her.
While Mo Ying and Lou Annie began a game of cat and mouse, Ni Xinyu was busy instructing Xiao Ai to keep managing the online comments. Xiao Ai even found Guan Xiuniang’s number and laid it on the table while muttering, “What nonsense. They say our Xiao Yu’er is shamelessly leeching off Su Bai’s popularity. If I find out who’s smearing her, I’ll rip them apart.”
Ni Xinyu, after her initial burst of anger, seemed surprisingly relaxed. She even opened a melodramatic drama to pass the time. “No need to panic. We might end up thanking that idiot.”
Xiao Ai was baffled. “Boss Ni, you won’t even contact Su Bai’s team? And you’re defending the people bashing our girl?”
Ni Xinyu replied calmly. “Sweetheart and Su Bai are worlds apart in popularity. Contact Guan Xiuniang? You think she’d let Su Bai stoop to clarify rumors? You’re dreaming. Unless it’s someone like Qi Jia, a rising star, she wouldn’t lift a finger.”
Xiao Ai blinked. “But Boss Ni, aren’t you trying to build sweetheart into someone like Yu Xuan? A diva? Letting her take insults doesn’t seem right.”
Ni Xinyu massaged her temples. “This kind of petty drama won’t make real waves. The real storm hasn’t even started. Hold your ground.”
All she could think about was Xiao Yu’er’s baby growing inside her like a ticking time bomb. Sooner or later, it would explode like fireworks.
Xiao Ai rolled up her sleeves and went to battle trolls for three hundred rounds. But to the public, Xiao Yu’er was still seen as a former influencer. Her name recognition didn’t even match a D-lister. The trending topic disappeared after just one day.
She poured herself a glass of water. When she came back and searched again, she found nothing. Just like Ni Xinyu had predicted.
“Damn, Boss Ni. You nailed it. Those trolls were weak.”
Ni Xinyu didn’t say whether it was to comfort herself or Xiao Ai. “When you care too much, your judgment gets clouded. As sweetheart’s assistant, you should be able to handle these things smoothly. Don’t get flustered. Once she becomes popular, situations like this will only get worse. You need to be her anchor no matter what happens.”
Xiao Ai nodded seriously. “Then… are we just letting the person who smeared Xiao Yu’er go?”
Ni Xinyu bit into an apple like it was no big deal. “Someone’s already handling it for us.”
…
Chu Shu spent an hour tracking the IP address of the viral video. It didn’t take long to link it to a specific phone. She glanced at the basket of confiscated phones nearby and sighed. As a special assistant, she felt overqualified for the position. Shouldn’t PR be doing this?
She was doing double duty as PR and wondering if she should ask for two salaries.
“Boss, isn’t this a bit of a personal favor?”
Lou Anran had retrieved the string of bl00d tridacna beads she had stashed away in the safe. She rolled them between her fingers. “I’m an investor. Can’t I do something to make my girlfriend happy?”
Chu Shu rubbed her forehead. “Fine. As long as it makes you happy.”
She had already assessed the return on investment of the show and even tried to talk her boss out of it. But Lou Anran had insisted that betting on this offbeat team could bring high returns one day. What could she do?
“We found her. Song Yuan, rated D in the prelims. What do you want to do?”
“Who’s that again?”
Chu Shu pulled up her background. “Probably a woman obsessed with fame. Had multiple plastic surgeries and changed two sugar daddies.”
Lou Anran checked the time, her tone impatient. “Don’t bother me with nobodies. But since she targeted the little one, I’ll think of something.”
Chu Shu smiled.
Lou Anran’s eyes darkened. “You said she’s desperate to debut? Let’s help her. Let her feel what real fame is like.”
Chu Shu’s smile froze. “Alright, Boss.”
This kind of pointless, thankless work was exhausting. Why even bother? Then she remembered the person she had seen in the bathroom earlier and quickly ran out. “Boss, there are two more things…”
Lou Anran, preoccupied with carrying out her girlfriend duties, had already turned the corner and vanished from sight.
…
Mo Ying peeked around carefully. When she saw that no one was nearby, she darted out like a frightened rabbit.
Lou Annie had nearly caught up when she was stopped by Wanqi Tianxin and the others. “Hey, why are you always chasing after our Xiao Yu’er? Are you some kind of obsessed fan?”
Lou Annie rolled her eyes. “No. I’m here to settle something. Step aside.”
Wanqi Tianxin lifted an eyebrow. “That’s not going to happen.”
…
The only place where Mo Ying felt truly safe was Villa A. Aside from the cleaning staff, the entire villa belonged to her.
However, just before she could reach it, she was intercepted.
“Why are you running?”
“I… Lou Xiaohei!” Mo Ying’s eyes lit up when she spotted her little girlfriend. “You didn’t come find me last night.”
It had only been a single night, yet she had already become this attached.
Lou Anran was deeply satisfied with how their relationship was unfolding. Having a girlfriend who constantly thought of her filled her with a giddy sense of joy. It was a happiness she had never known before, like being wrapped in a jar of sugar.
Mo Ying launched herself at her like a cannonball. Startled, Lou Anran reached out to catch her. “Do not run. Think of the baby fish.”
Seeing the concern on her face, Mo Ying quickly made repeated promises. “I won’t fall. I’ll protect the baby fish. Oh, Lou Xiaohei, I figured out where to leave your mark.”
Lou Anran assumed she was joking, but it was clear the little one had put real thought into it. “Where?”
Mo Ying had pondered it all night. She glanced around, then excitedly pulled Lou Anran into a quiet corner of the hallway. With dramatic flair, she pressed her against the wall and touched Lou Anran’s shoulder with her finger. “Do not move. You can look once I’m done.”
Lou Anran, intrigued, asked, “Where do you plan to leave this mark?”
Mo Ying took a quick look around, then swiftly slipped her hand beneath Luo Anran’s clothes. She lifted Lou Anran’s shirt and, just as the woman let out a startled gasp, dove right in.
Her small head was now nestled firmly against Lou Anran’s chest.
Lou Anran could hardly believe that in broad daylight, she was caught in something that felt so much like a forbidden rendezvous. She clenched her teeth. “Sweetheart, if you keep being this enthusiastic, I truly will not be able to control myself.”
She could already feel the tiny hands moving beneath her clothes, although Mo Ying clearly thought she had not noticed.
Mo Ying’s muffled voice came from inside. “Don’t move. You can’t move until I say so.”
Lou Anran sighed. She was human, not divine.
Especially when the one she loved was throwing herself into her arms.
“Sweetheart, if you really want to mate—”
“Ahhh! What are you doing!” Yu Xuan had followed the staff’s directions to the unique villa and had just arrived. Thankfully, she sent the guide away. The moment she heard something, she saw two people in a very compromising position. She might have ignored it if it had been anyone else, but since one of them was her little sister, she couldn’t turn a blind eye.
“Lou Xiaohei… wait. That sounds like my Fourth Sister!”
