Wait, I Got in the Wrong Car (GL) - Chapter 47
Ni Xinyu watched the two of them go back and forth, dead set on confirming the child’s parentage. She sighed helplessly. “Please. Lou Xiaohei, if you’re going to pretend to be a free mother, at least come up with a believable story. You think I’ll buy that nonsense?”
Lou Anran and Mo Ying exchanged glances. A short silence passed between them.
Ni Xinyu saw right through their stubborn act. “Sweetheart, let’s put aside the question of who the baby’s father is for now. But if it’s you, Lou Xiaohei, are you saying you have something the rest of us don’t?”
Lou Anran caught the subtle glances Ni Xinyu threw her way and quickly hugged a cushion to her chest. “Ni Xinyu, can you not be such a pervert? No wonder you haven’t found a girlfriend all these years.”
Whether it was about a ‘girlfriend’ or an ‘ex-girlfriend’, both struck a nerve for Ni Xinyu.
Like a hedgehog poked in a sore spot, she snapped, “How am I a pervert? You’re the one claiming that the baby in sweetheart’s belly is your biological child. Then go on, give birth and prove it.”
Mo Ying mumbled softly, “It’s true.”
Why was it so hard for everyone to believe?
Lou Anran nearly laughed out of frustration. “Believe it or not.”
Ni Xinyu smirked. “Ha, ran out of excuses already?”
Mo Ying sighed as she watched the two argue like children fighting over a toy. Just then, the time was right. She picked up the tablet and actively searched for the second season of Sing for the Song.
The first episode had been a massive hit. She didn’t even need to look for it. The official website had already reserved a prime advertisement slot. One click, and the freshly edited premiere began to play.
Almost at the same time, her WeChat began to buzz with notifications. She opened the app and saw dozens of messages from friends.
Tianxin: Xiao Yu’er, hurry. It’s starting. Countdown time.
Lingling: Watching with you.
Mo Ying replied to each of them with voice messages. In the background of her recordings, Lou Anran and Ni Xinyu’s argument could still be heard. At the end, she clicked on Wu Si’s inactive account. “Sisi, remember to watch the show. Let’s see it together.”
Lou Anran and Ni Xinyu both looked at her suddenly. “Baby, who are you talking to?”
Mo Ying didn’t even lift her head. “My friends.”
The episode opened with funny behind-the-scenes footage from early shoots. Among them, Mo Ying getting lost provided lots of comedic material for the staff.
Ni Xinyu was still skeptical. In her book, staying away from Lou Anran was always the safest strategy to avoid trouble. “Lou Xiaohei, don’t be in such a rush to become a mom. If that lunatic Yu Xuan finds out, she’ll probably throw you into the ocean. Instead of convincing me you two can have a child, you’d be better off figuring out how to deal with Yu Xuan.”
Unfortunately, that warning came too late.
Lou Anran had already experienced Yu Xuan’s methods firsthand. Compared to a dunk in the ocean, that nearly four-meter-long great white shark was definitely a force of nature. Just thinking about it still gave her chills. But she remained expressionless. “You seem to know her quite well. Don’t tell me you’ve experienced her wrath too?”
Ni Xinyu’s teeth itched at the memory of being tricked into going home and tossed into a pool. But with Mo Ying present, she held her ground. “Of course not. Do I look like someone who lets others walk all over me? If she dares to pull that stunt again, I won’t let her off.”
Giggles.
Lou Anran noticed her baby laughing quietly with the tablet. Coincidentally, the footage showed Mo Ying wearing a ghost mask to scare the crew. She lost interest in the argument and joined Mo Ying on the sofa. “Whatever. You’re about to become family with her anyway.”
Ni Xinyu was fed up with the way they showered affection on each other without any regard for her as the manager. She snapped, “What do you mean become family? Lou Xiaohei, where is your shame?”
Lou Anran kept her eyes on the screen and spoke with a soft, lazy voice. “Compared to my baby, what does shame matter? You’re just bitter grapes.”
Ni Xinyu, “….”
Bitter grapes, seriously? Yu Xuan was the definition of a rotten grape.
Seeing the two so shamelessly flaunt their affection, Ni Xinyu stood up in frustration. “I’m leaving. Keep watching. Call me if anything happens.”
Lou Anran didn’t even lift her head. She waved dismissively.
- “Ahhh, who is this sudden cutie? I need all her info, now!”
- “She’s peeking around like a little cat. Too adorable.”
- “Wait, isn’t this the streamer who vanished right after going viral? Turns out she’s in Sing for the Song. Kinda looking forward to this.”
- “Haha, that staff member nearly had a heart attack.”
- “God-tier prankster. Sounds like that song ‘Wukong Wukong’ all over again.”
- “To the comment above, that’s the original version. Xiao Yu’er wrote and performed it herself. Don’t mix it up.”
The screen was flooded with bullet comments. Most focused on Mo Ying. Some were explaining her past songs to new viewers, and others sympathized with the terrified crew member. The overall vibe was cheerful, though an occasional troll popped up to hurl insults.
Lou Anran calmly reported them one by one.
“Baby, you’re amazing. So many people love you already. I really do have great taste.”
“Really?”
Mo Ying blinked and saw fans screaming “ah ah ah” across the screen. Their excitement was clear. She wasn’t sure if her fan count had gone up, but if Lou Xiaohei said so, then it must be true. “Wow, look, it’s Lingling!”
Chen Ruiling appeared dressed in simple white clothes, her hair tied up with a wooden hairpin. She looked pure and elegant, like a beauty from a classical painting. A musical instrument was strapped to her back. She gave the camera a subtle, cool nod. When the footage aired, her cold gaze felt like it was greeting every viewer.
- “Ahhh, this cool goddess is too beautiful.”
- “Is that a guitar on her back?”
- “Did I just stumble into a cosplay convention?”
Mo Ying’s eyes sparkled. “Lingling looks so good.”
Even Lou Anran admitted that Chen Ruiling’s outfit was stunning. “When she was younger, she loved singing and dancing. I thought she’d go for rock, but I didn’t expect her to choose traditional dance.”
Mo Ying added, “Lingling dances jazz really well, too.”
Lou Anran was taken aback. “???”
Hearing her girlfriend praise someone else again and again, Lou Anran looked away and suddenly pinned Mo Ying down on the couch. “Baby, tell me. Is Lingling prettier, or am I?”
Mo Ying’s eyes darted around Lou Anran’s smirking face. She compared their features. Though different in style, their cool expressions did share a slight resemblance.
No wonder she’s her little niece.
Lou Anran waited but received no answer. She was nearly fuming. “Baby, you’re breaking my heart. You actually have to think about it? As your girlfriend, shouldn’t I be the most beautiful person in your eyes?”
Annoyed, she started tickling Mo Ying’s waist.
“Haha, Lou Xiaohei, stop tickling me. I’m mad now. Hahaha.”
Lou Anran tightened her hold and pinned her laughing baby to the corner of the couch, half her body leaning over. “Say it. Who’s prettier?”
Mo Ying’s golden irises shimmered faster. She giggled for a while before catching her breath. “I think you’re both beautiful.”
Lou Anran kissed her until the tablet rolled off the couch with a thud. Breathless, she pulled back slightly. “Baby, one more chance. Who’s prettier?”
Mo Ying smiled sweetly. Her golden eyes shone brighter. Her lovely toes teasingly grazed Lou Anran’s waist. Seeing her unmoved, she hooked her back in. “Lou Xiaohei, you’re the prettiest.”
What began as playful punishment quickly backfired. Mo Ying’s mischievous toes sparked a fire Lou Anran couldn’t suppress. Their kisses deepened. Mo Ying’s shirt was soon pushed up. As Lou Anran felt the slight chill of her skin, reality snapped her back. “Baby, not now.”
Mo Ying’s dreamy eyes shimmered with visible desire. Her flushed cheeks and seductive lips formed the most tempting request. “Lou Xiaohei, I feel hot. Help me.”
Just like last time, it had started as a favor. A favor that ended with a merbaby.
Tempted, Lou Anran reached out. But the moment her gaze fell on Mo Ying’s flat belly, she pinched herself hard. Relying on sheer willpower, she pulled Mo Ying’s clothes back down and sat her up from the puddle of longing. “Baby, hold on.”
Mo Ying stared, wide-eyed, in disbelief. “Lou Xiaohei, you’re not helping me?”
Lou Anran wanted to cry. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to. She couldn’t. She touched the quiet baby bump. “We’ll have to ask your Fourth Sister about your safe days. If this keeps up, I’ll either die from holding back or you’ll explode.”
Mo Ying slumped into her arms, her little head bumping against Lou Anran’s stomach. She sighed. “If we ask Fourth Sister, she’ll definitely say no.”
Yu Xuan had warned her countless times. No stripping, no this, no that. Everything was off-limits.
Mo Ying was burning with need. Her legs were anything but obedient. If they weren’t in the living room, her tail might have already appeared. She kept shifting and pressing against things like a kitten kneading a blanket.
Watching Mo Ying collapse in her arms, Lou Anran could not help but laugh. She nudged those tempting little feet with her knee and whispered seductively in her ear. “Do you want to mate with me?”
