Wait, I Got in the Wrong Car (GL) - Chapter 48
Mo Ying could not quite explain the reason. Her little girlfriend had two legs and lacked the dazzlingly beautiful mermaid tail she herself possessed. Yet every time Lou Anran teased her, even casually, she felt like a fish suddenly dropped into boiling water. That unfamiliar, tingling rush of excitement made her itch with desire, her tail twitching restlessly with no place to settle.
Her feet slid gently against Lou Anran, her soft toes pressing and tapping with delicate rhythm, as if dancing across the keys of a piano.
Despite that, her face showed deep distress, as though she had encountered a world-ending dilemma. Mo Ying pouted and called out in a soft, vulnerable voice, “Lou Xiaohei, help me.”
Lou Anran forced herself to calm completely. Although the girl’s teasing had clear intent, she just barely resisted reacting to it. She smiled faintly, letting her fingers trail across the smooth skin like a musician strumming a sensitive chord. Her fingertips drifted along the inner side, playfully teasing. She could feel the girl’s muscles tense as she curled all five pretty toes tight, each one perfectly round and irresistibly cute.
Mo Ying had just started to pull her feet back when a warm hand closed around them. A husky, seductive voice whispered beside her ear. It sounded as if it came from another world, yet the warm breath brushing her skin made it clear that the woman was right next to her.
Lou Anran released a low, raspy chuckle. “Baby, with how unsatisfied you seem, are you trying to mate with me?”
Mo Ying squirmed, her brow furrowing into knots. Pressured by Lou Anran’s teasing, she blurted out, “But… but you don’t have a tail.”
Lou Anran playfully scratched the soft arch of her foot. This little heartless fish… is she planning to use me and toss me aside? Things are never that simple. “So you do want to mate with me.”
Mo Ying battled with herself for a while. One part of her heart said yes, the other firmly refused. The inner struggle gave her a headache. Even though her girlfriend had no tail, she still found herself wanting to mate with Lou Xiaohei, just a little.
Seeing her hesitating over mating, Lou Anran could not help a touch of smugness. “Baby, last time you asked me for help. Did I not make you feel good, hmm?”
Mo Ying was especially sensitive. Her feet jerked back the moment Lou Anran tickled them again. Seizing the chance as Lou Anran relaxed, she pulled away and planted her feet firmly on the sofa.
“Stop tickling me! If you do it again, I’ll get mad for real!”
Lou Anran leaned in close, their noses brushing as warm breath mingled quietly between them. Without another word, she moved even closer.
“Baby, do not change the subject so fast. You still have not answered me. Did it feel good last time?”
Mo Ying mumbled, her mind flooded with vivid memories of them entangled in the water. Lou Anran had been blindfolded throughout, which made it all the more exciting. She had kept her tail hidden the entire time and never let Lou Anran discover it.
“It was… it was okay, I guess.”
What did she mean by okay, I guess?
Lou Anran’s brows drew together in quiet dissatisfaction. She thought about how much care she had taken to make sure the girl felt safe and cherished. After everything, just okay?
Without realizing it, Lou Anran’s gentle expression shifted, revealing a sharpness she usually kept hidden. She leaned in, close enough to kiss those tempting lips that could charm and mislead, yet she stopped just one centimeter short.
“When you clung to me last time to mate, did I have a tail then?”
Under Lou Anran’s intense gaze, Mo Ying was overwhelmed with guilt. Her heart pounded louder than the low whispers brushing her ear. This version of Lou Anran felt unfamiliar, dangerous, and impossibly enticing. Her bright eyes flickered nervously, avoiding the ones that seemed able to see straight through her.
From the corner of her eye, she caught sight of the tablet still playing by itself. She no longer cared who was performing. Her gaze drifted down to Lou Anran’s full, irresistible lips. If the color were just a little darker, they would be even more delicious.
She completely forgot about the foot-tickling. All her irritation and threats melted away under the weight of growing desire. Her thoughts drifted to the first time she had seen Lou Anran’s alluring crimson lips. Slowly and with curiosity, she leaned in and brushed them with her soft pink tongue, savoring the familiar sweetness.
Just as she was about to retreat from her successful sneak kiss, Lou Anran’s firm hand gripped the back of her neck.
“Baby, do you know what that was called?”
Mo Ying blinked, looking a little confused. “What?”
Lou Anran laughed softly. “Saying one thing while meaning another. Your body tells the truth, but your mouth keeps pretending.”
Mo Ying squirmed and pouted, her voice carrying both frustration and a hint of blame. “I asked you for help and you said no.”
Lou Anran let out a long sigh and instinctively touched her lower abdomen. Her warm palm settled against the cool skin, a gentle reminder that the fragile little life inside still needed her care. Only then could she calm the fire once again rising inside her.
“Baby, aside from asking your Fourth Sister, who else knows how many months a pregnant mermaid must wait before mating again?”
Mo Ying lowered her gaze to her belly, feeling the weight of this sweet burden. Then a spark lit up in her eyes.
“Second Brother!”
Far away, Kong Rulan sneezed out of nowhere. He sniffed, wiped his nose, and returned to his intense sketching.
After all the fluster, they looked at each other. The earlier desire to mate slowly faded away.
Lou Anran reached for the tablet. The one-hour show was already near its end.
“Do you still want to watch?”
Mo Ying had been busy replying to her messages. She had completely missed the constant dinging of new notifications earlier.
“Of course. I want to see how many fans I’ve gained.”
Lou Anran moved the video back to the beginning and set the tablet on the coffee table. She then pulled out her phone, already loaded with updates from Chu Shu. It included total views, trending rates, and various charts. She glanced through them quickly.
“Baby, is your account in Ni Xinyu’s hands now?”
Mo Ying looked puzzled.
Lou Anran glanced at the recently posted photo. Mo Ying was shown holding the tablet with a sweet, obedient smile. She saved the image.
“Almost twenty thousand fans. That is a really good sign.”
Mo Ying squealed in surprise and dove into Lou Anran’s arms. Their heads pressed together as they watched the rising fan count.
“Are they all following me?”
Seeing how delighted she was, Lou Anran affectionately rubbed her nose against hers.
“Yes. Anyone who likes my girlfriend clearly knows what they are doing.”
Mo Ying giggled, her heart full of happiness. Finally, she no longer had to worry about going hungry.
…
The thought of having nearly twenty thousand fans filled Mo Ying with so much excitement that she could not sleep at all. She rolled around in the bathtub, her tail splashing loudly while she proudly sent messages to each of her siblings.
Kong Rulan: No doubt about it, Xiao Wu. You are Second Brother’s pride.
Yu Xuan: Reaching a million will not be a problem soon. Xiao Wu, your Fourth Sister has a surprise for you in two days.
Ye Moli: Third Brother is cheering you on.
Before dawn, Mo Ying slipped into Lou Anran’s bed and stared closely at her peaceful face in the dim light. She rested her chin in her hands and watched her for a long moment. Then she began counting Lou Anran’s long black lashes. They curled like little brooms, and every time she touched one, it fluttered gently.
“One, two, three…”
Lou Anran was a light sleeper. She had spent many nights buried in work, but ever since being with Mo Ying, her sleep had grown more restful. She turned over and caught Mo Ying’s mischievous fingers in her grasp.
When she opened her eyes, she found herself gazing into a pair of emerald eyes that sparkled like imperial jade.
“Baby, why are you awake in the middle of the night instead of sleeping?”
Mo Ying showed no trace of guilt for waking her girlfriend. She flopped down beside her with bubbling excitement.
“Lou Xiaohei, let’s go on a date!”
Lou Anran’s eyes flew open, and any trace of sleep vanished.
“A date?”
Mo Ying had read countless stories about scumbags, schemers, and dramatic couples tangled in messy romances.
“All those love stories say you have to hold hands, kiss, and go on dates. Lou Xiaohei, we have only kissed. We still need to do the other two.”
Lou Anran knew her baby had a wild and independent spirit that often caught her off guard. Still, she had not expected her to be so inexperienced when it came to dating.
“Alright.”
At the amusement park, Lou Anran gazed up at the towering Ferris wheel and wiped her forehead even though there was no sweat to be seen.
“Baby, what do you want to try?”
Mo Ying had never been to an amusement park before. Her excitement bubbled over as she pulled Lou Anran forward with eager hands. A group of children walked past them, each holding a sundae and licking it with enthusiasm, their mouths smudged with creamy white streaks. Lou Anran caught the way her girlfriend stared at them without blinking.
Her expression said it all. I want that.
Without a word, she guided Mo Ying into the shop.
“What do you want to eat?”
Mo Ying leaned over the freezer and tapped each chilly dessert one by one. Every wrapper looked cold and irresistibly tempting.
“Lou Xiaohei, I want them all.”
Lou Anran almost laughed. Ignoring the curious glances from passersby, she wrapped her arms around Mo Ying’s waist and gave her belly a gentle pat.
“Pick just one. Eating too many will upset your stomach, and they will melt quickly once they leave the freezer.”
With no other option, Mo Ying chose the one that looked most like the ocean. She unwrapped it and gave it a lick. Her tongue nearly stuck to the icy surface.
It was so cold.
Lou Anran saw her wide open mouth and the cute tongue frozen mid-lick. She could not resist leaning in to kiss her. Their lips met with a soft, wet sound.
“Baby, do not try to tempt me in broad daylight. I do not have much self-control.”
Mo Ying blinked, suddenly coming back to her senses, her eyes wide with surprise.
“Lou Xiaohei, I wasn’t!”
She smacked her lips thoughtfully. Alongside the sugary flavor of the ice cream, she now tasted the unique sweetness that belonged only to Lou Anran. That familiar warmth softened the cold sting on her tongue, making it much easier to bear.
For quite a while after, Mo Ying would take another bite, breathe out a puff of cold air, and part her lips again. Each time, she drew Lou Anran in, tempting her into stealing another kiss and pressing her against a pillar until her entire body softened like melted jelly.
By the time they finished, the ice cream was long gone. Mo Ying’s lips were flushed a deep red, and even the corners of her eyes had taken on a rosy hue.
