Wait, I Got in the Wrong Car (GL) - Chapter 51
Even though Lou Anran always prided herself on her ironclad self-control, the moment she saw that sultry back shot of the little mermaid, she froze for a good ten seconds. She instinctively glanced at the closed curtains, then unconsciously reached up to touch her own nose.
Mo Ying’s clothes clung perfectly to her curves. Her chest and hips were full, and her slender waist swayed with each flick of her tail. It was a sinuous and mesmerizing motion. Although the shoulder strap had slipped slightly, clearly tugged down on purpose, the important parts were still securely covered. However, the parts meant to be revealed glowed seductively under the warm lighting, all the more enticing.
Half-awake, half-asleep, her gem-like eyes still carried a haze of sleep. She looked innocent as a child, yet her luscious figure easily awakened primal urges. In this dim and suggestive lighting, those urges had nowhere to hide.
“Lou Xiaohei, come here.”
Lou Anran had just gotten through a dinner engagement. Even with her assistant helping to deflect drinks, she had still ended up drinking quite a bit. By the time she registered what was happening, her hand had already ignited a fire on that soft, silky skin. The coolness of Mo Ying’s body against her palm gave her a moment of clarity.
“Lying on the sofa like that, won’t you crush baby fish, hmm?”
Mo Ying turned slightly, resting her chin on her hand while watching Lou Anran. As she leaned closer, she caught the cloying sweetness of alcohol on Lou Anran’s breath.
“You’ve been drinking.”
Lou Anran slumped to the floor, lazily twirling a lock of the girl’s golden hair draped over the sofa. She wound it around her fingers several times before leaning in with a smile.
“I have. Just a little. I’m not drunk.”
Mo Ying leaned forward and pressed her warm lips to the corner of Lou Anran’s mouth, which was still touched with the coolness of night. Perhaps it was the alcohol, but Lou Anran froze. In that fleeting moment, the girl’s slippery, mischievous tongue slipped between her lips like a thief, grazing her teeth before darting away like a dragonfly touching water.
Mo Ying licked her lips, tasting a hint of dew.
“Will it hurt? When you wake up, will you forget everything like I did before?”
Lou Anran rubbed her forehead. The girl was simply too alluring. Every little movement exuded a dangerous charm, like a blooming poppy. She stared into those bright eyes and thought that even the stars in the sky paled in comparison. She had only had three or five drinks. Was it the wine that made her tipsy, or the person in front of her?
“I don’t even know if I’m drunk or not.”
Mo Ying got lost in those deep eyes. Her gaze dropped to Lou Anran’s slightly parted lips, and before she realized it, she leaned in again for another sneak attack.
But how could Lou Anran let the little one tease her again and again without consequence? She caught her in one swift motion. Just before losing control, she pressed a raspy kiss to her lips.
“Baby, are you sure you’re ready for this?”
Mo Ying suddenly remembered the phone call from earlier.
“Second Brother said I don’t have to suppress my instincts too much, but… this kind of thing shouldn’t happen every day. I should practice restraint.”
Click.
Lou Anran thought she heard the sound of a lock opening. She cupped Mo Ying’s face gently, placing a soft kiss on her lips.
“Then I won’t hold back.”
……
Lou Anran woke up first. The first thing she saw was the girl’s soft, pink cheeks. Her gentle breathing brushed against her neck, tickling her. She shifted slightly to the side, but the pair of legs entangled with hers followed close behind, clamping around her securely.
“Awake?”
“Mm.”
To avoid scratching Lou Anran with her scales, Mo Ying had kept her legs in human form. She rubbed them slightly before whispering, “Lou Xiaohei, good morning.”
Lou Anran looked at the girl’s sweet smile and felt like her chest might burst from happiness. Such a beautiful creature was now in her arms. If she could see this scene every morning when she opened her eyes, she would have no regrets.
“Baby, who taught you to dress like that last night?”
After being restrained for so long, Mo Ying had let loose completely. The girl had gone wild, but Lou Anran had managed to hold onto a shred of rationality.
She knew full well that Mo Ying was like a blank page. Without someone’s guidance, she would never have done something as seductive as that. Even though it had added some spice to their night, Lou Anran couldn’t help but resent being manipulated.
Mo Ying, who had gotten carried away in the moment, had completely forgotten her plan. She hesitated for a few seconds, then dove under the covers and onto Lou Anran.
“Did I look pretty last night?”
Lou Anran was used to keeping up with the girl’s flighty thoughts.
“Baby, are you confused? In my eyes, in my heart, there’s no one more beautiful than you.”
Mo Ying, tired of propping herself up, flopped back down.
“Then can you help me with something?”
Lou Anran raised an eyebrow playfully.
“Of course.”
It didn’t take long for her to piece together the truth behind the girl’s rambling. So last night’s seduction was part of a deal?
Mo Ying looked up with hopeful eyes, only to watch Lou Anran’s smile slowly fade. Her expression turned cold, her gaze sharp. Mo Ying’s confidence wavered, and her voice faltered.
“Lou Xiaohei…”
Lou Anran said nothing. She tossed off the covers and headed to the bathroom. The heat and passion of the night before vanished under the sharp sting of a cold shower.
Mo Ying stood outside the bathroom door in frustration, tugging at the handle repeatedly. But it was locked.
When Lou Anran finally emerged in a new set of pajamas, her face had returned to its usual stern and distant expression. Mo Ying trailed behind her like a little shadow.
“Lou Xiaohei, are you mad?”
“Yes.”
Mo Ying scratched her head.
“Why are you mad?”
Lou Anran noticed the confusion in her eyes, which looked both innocent and unaware.
“Forget it.”
Before she left, Lou Anran handed over a piece of paper from her backpack.
“This is the hospital where Wu Si’s grandmother is staying. It’s what you wanted.”
Mo Ying took the paper, but it didn’t bring the joy she expected. Instead, she felt a strange sense of sadness. She looked around the room filled with faint red-purple threads of anger and suddenly felt miserable.
Chen Ruiling had only just suggested she give it a try, and she hadn’t expected to get the address so quickly. The three of them requested time off again and headed to the hospital, successfully tracking down a visibly haggard Wu Si.
Wu Si was carrying a thermos of hot water. She looked up and saw them laden with gifts, baskets of fruit and all.
“Wow, I didn’t expect you to find me here.”
They had prepared a cover story during the car ride and decided not to mention anything else for now.
“How’s your grandma?”
Wu Si stepped aside and pushed open the door. Inside were three beds. Her grandmother lay on the middle one. Her thin, fragile wrist looked like it could snap at any moment, her skin so dark it was hard to even find a vein.
They hadn’t come at a good time. The old woman had just fallen asleep, lying silently with barely a rise or fall to her chest.
Wu Si wasn’t shy. She accepted all the gifts they brought, and the four of them went outside to find a quiet corner.
She rummaged through a bag and pulled out a pack of cigarettes. Just as she was about to light one, Wanqi Tianxin snatched it away.
“You’re a singer. You shouldn’t smoke.”
Wu Si casually played with the lighter. It had the logo of some banquet hall engraved on it. She leaned on the railing, gazing at the towering buildings outside, tapping the lighter against the metal bars with a soft clink.
“I’m not going back. Thank you for coming to see Grandma.”
Chen Ruiling asked, “Are you sure?”
Wu Si nodded.
Wanqi Tianxin pleaded with her for ages, ending up with red-rimmed eyes.
Mo Ying stood to the side, watching the three of them with their arms around each other’s shoulders. She felt like an outsider. The pang of discomfort in her chest grew even sharper. Even after they left the hospital and returned to the filming site, she still couldn’t understand why she felt so bad.
Their group of four had become three, and none of them were in the mood to smile.
It wasn’t until three days later that Chen Ruiling noticed something was off with Mo Ying. The three of them were half-heartedly discussing choreography and arrangements, but Mo Ying was resting her chin in her hand, staring off into space. Even after being called several times, she would only snap out of it briefly before zoning out again.
If the semifinals were meant to be a stepping stone into the finals, then with their current state, they wouldn’t even make it through a crack in the floor.
Chen Ruiling, thoroughly exasperated, dragged Mo Ying aside, away from Wanqi Tianxin.
“Xiao Yu’er, are you worried about Sisi?”
Mo Ying shook her head and sighed.
“Lingling, your advice didn’t work. Lou Xiaohei is really mad. She hasn’t come back in two nights.”
“What???”
Chen Ruiling stared at Mo Ying’s miserable face.
“Do you know what you look like right now?”
“What?”
“Like a pitiful little housewife waiting by the window. Like if you don’t see her for a day, you can’t eat, can’t focus, and nothing makes you happy.”
She hesitated, realizing her words were a bit too harsh.
“If Lou Anran gave you the address, why would she be mad at you?”
“She had already written it down. Even if I hadn’t used that method, she would have still helped me. She’s so kind.”
Chen Ruiling was even more confused.
“Then why is she angry?”
After she asked for all the details about that night, Chen Ruiling’s face turned red enough to drip bl00d. Her eyelid twitched, caught between amusement and exasperation.
“Xiao Yu’er, I told you to act cute and sweet, not to… seduce her like that.”
“What does ‘like that’ mean? I just did what you said.”
Chen Ruiling twitched again and swallowed a mouthful of regret. She was certain she had now landed squarely on Lou Anran’s blacklist.
“You really are something.”
Seduction or not, bedroom harmony was usually a delightful thing.
Chen Ruiling scratched her head. As an outsider, she finally saw the truth. These two weren’t just playing around. They were actually serious.
Mo Ying nodded as if suddenly enlightened.
“I thought so too. But Lou Xiaohei hasn’t talked to me for two days. I feel… a little sad.”
Chen Ruiling really didn’t want to hear any more about their bedroom antics. Seeing Mo Ying so downcast, she sighed.
“If she’s mad and ignoring you, then cling to her. Don’t stop until she talks to you again.”
