What If I Ended Up Marrying My Enemy? - Chapter 27
Chapter 27: First Love
The figure that suddenly leaned down felt like nightfall crashing down. Caught off guard, Yu Zhixue couldn’t see anything else—he could only stare with wide eyes and feel the kiss.
With the patter of raindrops hitting the ground, his heartbeat seemed to follow in rhythm.
Yu Wenxuan only pulled back after a long moment. He stood up and looked at the still-stunned Yu Zhixue, gently patting his cheek.
“Feeling a bit better now?” Yu Wenxuan asked.
Clearly, Yu Zhixue had intended to cheer him up, but somehow, it had turned into Yu Wenxuan comforting him instead.
Yu Zhixue asked, “What about you? Are you happy?”
Yu Wenxuan took out his phone to call a car, slipped the phone back into his pocket, and, seeing Yu Zhixue still crouched on the ground, lifted him up into his arms.
“I’m happy as long as you’re by my side.”
Leaning into his shoulder, Yu Zhixue mumbled, “That’s not the same. I’m by your side every day.”
Yu Wenxuan studied his expression, gently brushed back his long hair, and asked, “If it makes me happy, can I do anything I want?”
The person in his arms nodded.
Yu Wenxuan paused for a moment, then abruptly pinched his chin, forcing him to lift his head. “Don’t regret it, then.”
Yu Zhixue suddenly had a bad feeling. But in the end, his desire to make Yu Wenxuan happy won out, and he nodded again.
Yu Wenxuan lifted his chin slightly and didn’t say anything more.
The car arrived quickly. Yu Wenxuan carried him over, opened the door, and they set off smoothly.
Yu Zhixue put the umbrella away and set it aside. When he turned around, he saw Yu Wenxuan looking at his phone. He leaned over to sneak a peek—only to get his face pinched.
Yu Zhixue: “?”
Without even turning his head, Yu Wenxuan said, “Still trying to snoop?”
That only made Yu Zhixue more curious. He leaned back, slipped out of Yu Wenxuan’s grip, and tried to peek from afar.
He could only vaguely make out that it was a food delivery app.
But before he could see what was on the screen, Yu Wenxuan had already made his choice and paid, then turned the phone screen off.
Watching Yu Zhixue still alert and full of energy, Yu Wenxuan asked lazily, “Really want to know?”
Yu Zhixue replied primly, “Just a little.”
“You’ll find out when we get home,” v Wenxuan said, lowering his gaze with a smile.
…
The package arrived almost at the same time they did. Yu Wenxuan had specifically ordered it from a nearby shop.
As soon as they entered the house, Yu Zhixue saw the box. He walked over to check it out—it had no label, and you couldn’t tell what was inside.
He lifted it—light.
Kneeling on the floor, he turned to ask Yu Wenxuan, “Can I open it?”
Yu Wenxuan was still changing his shoes at the entrance. Without even looking up, he said, “Go ahead.”
With permission granted, Yu Zhixue grabbed a small knife and sliced open the tape.
Yu Wenxuan didn’t immediately come over after finishing at the door. Instead, he leaned against the wall, watching Yu Zhixue’s reaction.
Inside the package was a lot of foam for protection.
When Yu Zhixue reached in, his hand brushed against something soft and furry.
He froze.
He pulled it out and found—cat ears. A headband with white fur and a light pink interior.
Yu Zhixue pulled out the rest: a tail and a collar with a bell.
Once everything was unpacked and laid out on the floor, Yu Zhixue looked at it all and immediately blushed. He stood up abruptly, trying to walk away.
But Yu Wenxuan had somehow gotten behind him and stopped him from fleeing. “Weren’t you the one dying to open it? Why run?”
Yu Zhixue protested, “You didn’t say you bought these!”
“Didn’t you say I could do anything I wanted if it made me happy?” Yu Wenxuan’s chin rested on his shoulder as he looked down at the items on the floor. His voice was soft.
“I picked a good-quality set, and it looks really nice. Put it on for me.”
…
The temperature inside the house was just right. Yu Zhixue had taken off his coat and was down to a white sweater.
The cat ears were pure white and stood out vividly against his dark hair. The tail behind him was fluffy and swayed slightly as he moved.
Yu Wenxuan looked at him and held out his palm like teasing a cat. “Come on, give me your paw.”
Yu Zhixue glared at him but eventually placed his hand in Yu Wenxuan’s.
So obedient. A good little kitten.
After holding his hand, Yu Wenxuan turned his attention elsewhere and reached out to touch the cat ears on top of his head.
They were soft and bent gently under his fingers.
Even though it was just a headband, it somehow felt as if it were really connected to Yu Zhixue—he felt a strange tingling sensation.
While playing with the ears, Yu Wenxuan suddenly remembered something. “Didn’t you say you still had your high school uniform? Is it here?”
Yu Zhixue grabbed the tail behind him. “It’s at the bottom of the closet.”
Yu Wenxuan brushed a finger down the corner of his eye. “Go change. I want to see.”
Inside the bedroom.
Yu Zhixue refused Yu Wenxuan’s offer to help and locked the door behind him.
The uniform had been neatly stored away and was still in great condition. Yu Zhixue took off the accessories and changed.
He’d grown since high school. The waist still fit, but the pants were a bit short, exposing his ankles.
He buttoned the jacket all the way up, hesitated, then decided to leave the tail behind in the room, only putting the cat ear headband back on.
Outside, Yu Wenxuan waited by the hallway railing. Ten minutes later, the door finally opened a crack.
Pale fingertips curled around the doorframe, and the door was gently pulled open.
Yu Wenxuan’s eyes followed and froze—he was stunned.
Yu Zhixue’s nerves made him wear a cold expression. He awkwardly adjusted the headband and asked, “Does it look weird?”
That uniform, which Yu Wenxuan had thought was beautiful from the start, looked even more stunning on Yu Zhixue.
Youthful and delicate, even his back looked slender and vulnerable.
Weird? No. It was heart-stoppingly beautiful.
Seeing him not reply, Yu Zhixue stepped forward to pull him, but Yu Wenxuan grabbed his wrist instead.
He lifted it and leaned in to bite one of the cat ears. In a soft voice, he said, “Does a little kitten have to go to high school too? That sounds so hard.”
Yu Zhixue heard what he said, and his knees went weak.
Yu Wenxuan continued whispering in his ear, relentless: “Did you skip class? Why are you out at this hour?”
“…Mm.”
“Looks like you’re a little kitten who doesn’t do too well in school.”
Yu Zhixue, who had always been top of the class, couldn’t take that insult. He pulled his hand back. “I always got good grades.”
Now Yu Wenxuan’s hand was empty again. He reached over and stroked Yu Zhixue’s neck.
He remembered the choker they hadn’t used yet, left downstairs.
He tugged Yu Zhixue along and brought him back down, picking up the choker that had been left cold and abandoned. The bell jingled as he lifted it.
The clear bell sound was extra sharp in the quiet house.
Sitting on the sofa, Yu Zhixue heard the sound and immediately imagined things he shouldn’t. Yu Wenxuan unfastened the clasp and knelt in front of him to size it.
Yu Zhixue brushed his hair aside, letting Yu Wenxuan fasten it.
The leather choker felt cold against his skin. Yu Wenxuan gauged the size and fastened it. “Is it uncomfortable?”
It was a little hard to breathe, but not unbearable. Yu Zhixue shook his head. “It’s okay.”
But the bell jingled as he moved. Yu Zhixue quickly pressed a hand against it, freezing.
He looked utterly flustered, shame practically spilling out of him.
Watching him so tense, Yu Wenxuan intentionally grabbed his ankle, fingers trailing up to his calf.
Yu Zhixue tried to wriggle free but failed. His long hair draped over Yu Wenxuan’s face as he bowed his head, voice small and trembling.
“Yu Wenxuan… kiss me.”
“What should you be calling me?” Yu Wenxuan’s veins were showing, but he kept a composed face and asked again.
A few seconds of silence passed before a soft voice sounded.
“…Gege come kiss me.”
A strong hand grabbed his leg, and Yu Wenxuan kissed him deeply, teasing his tongue more and more.
The ears on his head tilted askew, the bell jingling loudly.
It wasn’t long before Yu Zhixue tried to lean away. Yu Wenxuan let him—then hooked a finger through the choker chain and yanked him back hard.
The sudden pull made Yu Zhixue choke and tear up. Before he could say a word, his mouth was covered again.
Yu Wenxuan played the edge, bringing just enough pressure to make it intense without causing pain. He kissed deeply, then loosened the grip every few seconds so Yu Zhixue could breathe.
Yu Zhixue was so dazed he even forgot to inhale. His hands trembled with pleasure.
Yu Wenxuan saw his dazed look and reminded him, “Breathe.”
Yu Zhixue finally remembered to breathe, his eyes misty red and the white-pink cat ears drooping slightly.
They really did look like they had grown from his head.
Yu Zhixue must have really looked like this in high school—naive and beautiful.
Too bad Yu Wenxuan didn’t get to see it back then.
He stood up, wiped away the tear trailing down Yu Zhixue’s cheek with the back of his finger, and asked, “Did you date anyone in high school?”
Yu Zhixue didn’t know if this was still roleplay or a real question, so he answered honestly: “No… you’re my first love.”
“……”
The kisses that had stopped returned with force. The cat ears ended up somewhere in the corner, and the choker was unfastened.
Yu Zhixue leaned back against the sofa as Yu Wenxuan leaned over him, this time far more gentle.
His Adam’s apple bobbed as he swallowed, hands slipping into Yu Zhixue’s uniform to knead at his waist suggestively.
Yu Wenxuan lowered his eyes and made up for all the kisses he’d missed.
During a break, Yu Zhixue opened his tear-filled eyes slightly and asked in a hushed voice, “…Are you happier now?”
“Of course,” Yu Wenxuan said. “So happy I could go insane.”
