What to Do if You Mess With an Omega? - Chapter 16
Before leaving, Ning Hanzhu dragged the original body’s collection of miscellaneous materials to the front of the Luo family’s shop. The Luo family’s mecha store had replaced its manager.
Luo Wu had been fired.
Second Miss Luo acted with lightning speed. Upon learning what Luo Wu had done, she replaced him without a word and promoted someone who had been suppressed by Luo Wu for over a decade. Moreover, this person was from the same family and had witnessed the entire process of why Luo Wu got dismissed.
So when facing Ning Hanzhu, Luo San smiled mildly and politely. “Miss Ning, these materials look to be of good quality. We are willing to purchase them at twice the market price.”
Ning Hanzhu, “?”
She had actually pulled them over just to let them pick out anything suitable. If there was none, she planned to sell them cheaply elsewhere.
Who could have known she was in such a rush now.
Luo San saw her frown. “Three times the price, how about that?”
Ning Hanzhu was still caught in the dizziness of pies falling from the sky every day. Seeing Luo San look troubled, she grasped his hand and shook it. “That’s fine. I think this price is very suitable.”
Both wore professional smiles on their faces.
Ning Hanzhu’s optical computer gained a substantial income. Of course, she was well aware of this windfall. This Luo San was also a shrewd one, giving her a huge favor out of consideration for Xu Yuqing’s sake.
It had to be said that some people were truly far-sighted.
This only made her more curious about Xu Yuqing’s identity.
“Aunt Lu, is Brother Lu in?”
“He’s here. I’ll call him for you.”
Ning Hanzhu watched Lu Qianran’s retreating figure with worry. By the time Lu Yutang came jogging over, she still had not figured out how to broach the subject.
“Bamboo? What are you spacing out for? I’ve called you three times.”
“Brother Lu.”
Lu Yutang waited for her to continue, but after glancing at her once, then again, he finally could not help pushing her. “Did your friend refuse to help?”
Ning Hanzhu shook her head. Things with Ning Ye had gone extremely smoothly—so smoothly that she felt like she had been dreaming. “If an opportunity to go to the capital star appeared in front of you, would you take it?”
Lu Yutang was unequivocal. “Yes, of course I would.”
Ning Hanzhu asked again, “Then what about Aunt Lu? Would you leave her here alone on Elf Star?”
This question stumped Lu Yutang. He scratched his head. “Can’t I bring my mom with me?”
Ning Hanzhu shook her head with a wry smile. “Sorry, Brother Lu. I can only bring you along at most.”
Lu Yutang suddenly patted her and burst out laughing. “Bamboo, you’re too amazing! I knew you wouldn’t forget your Brother Lu. Can we really go to the capital star?”
Ning Hanzhu said, “Yes, Brother Lu. You can think it over. Their spaceship will leave Elf Star in two days.”
Lu Yutang thumped his chest. “No need to think. This opportunity is so rare. My mom—she’ll support me. Once I make a name for myself on the capital star, I’ll bring her over.”
Ning Hanzhu listened seriously to his grand ambitions and visions for the future, thinking that Brother Lu’s pie-painting was even bigger and rounder than hers.
“Yes, Brother Lu. You can definitely do it.”
“Bamboo!”
“Brother Lu!”
The two clenched their fists tightly, as if they were old confidants of many years.
“We’ll go to the military academy together and make our mark.”
“???”
What? Military academy?
Time to slip away.
To avoid Lu Yutang dragging her into more flights of fancy, she immediately found an excuse to leave. As she went, she did not forget to remind him. “Brother Lu, three days from now, at landing pad number one. We meet there, no backing out.”
Ning Hanzhu picked up Ning Qianqian from the neighbor’s place next door. The big and the small both felt unaccustomed to the empty house.
The original body had sold her materials for a sum of money. The bed and table that Yan Feipeng had smashed were completely unusable now and could not even be reassembled into their original form, so Ning Hanzhu had swept them out as garbage.
After cleaning the house, it seemed even emptier.
Ning Hanzhu casually packed two sets of spare clothes. That was all the possessions the two sisters had. She took Ning Qianqian’s hand and went first to return the room to Aunt Lu.
“You’re taking Qianqian with you to the capital star. Have you thought it through?”
“Yes.”
Lu Qianran opened her mouth, wanting to say that jobs were hard to find on the capital star and that life would be tough with a little sister in tow, but in the end, she said nothing. She knew that once Ning Hanzhu made up her mind, it was hard to change.
She comforted herself. “It’s fine. Anyway, your Brother Lu just told me he’s going too. He’s the oldest, so I’ll have him take good care of you both. If it really doesn’t work out, you can always come back. Aunt Lu will still be here anyway.”
Ning Hanzhu nearly burst into tears.
Thinking that Lu Yutang was not even in his mid-twenties yet and would have to look after them both, she truly felt that Aunt Lu was too good to them.
They had started as strangers who met by chance, yet she had always given them meticulous care. In contrast, the main Ning family branch—despite their thick bl00d ties to the original body—had abandoned them without a care.
Ning Hanzhu reached out and hugged her. “Aunt Lu, thank you for taking care of us sisters all these years. I won’t forget you.”
Ning Qianqian also hugged Lu Qianran’s leg. “Aunt Lu, Aunt Lu.”
She was still too young to understand what parting meant. When Ning Hanzhu had come to pick her up, she had only told her that they would not see Lu Qianran for a very long time.
Lu Qianran wiped the tear from the corner of her eye. “Alright. Tonight, you both stay at my place. Aunt Lu will prepare a farewell meal for you.”
Ning Hanzhu did not refuse.
Three days later.
The three arrived at the landing pad, lugging big bags and small packages.
A luxurious spaceship was docked there. The people Second Miss Luo had brought were all lined up in two orderly columns, disciplined like soldiers. The scene resembled some princess attending an important occasion.
Xu Yuqing and Luo Tianran stood in the middle. The two beautiful women had completely different styles—one cool and aloof, the other cute. They seemed to be chatting idly, completely ignoring the gazes around them.
But Ning Hanzhu felt that Xu Yuqing’s aura was even stronger. She spotted the woman at first glance. Even standing there casually, she was the center of attention. Even Second Miss Luo, standing at Xu Yuqing’s side, nearly became a foil.
“Miss Ning, Miss Xu wants you to come over.”
“Alright, thank you.”
Ning Hanzhu thought of how this big brother had taken down Yan Feipeng in two moves, yet he did not dare overstep with Xu Yuqing at all and even showed particular reverence toward her.
Lu Yutang beside her was already staring wide-eyed. As the two followed along, he whispered to Ning Hanzhu, “This person isn’t simple.”
It was not just this big brother who was not simple—the entire spaceship full of people did not seem simple to her. Of course, the most extraordinary among them was Xu Yuqing.
“Qianqian, come here.”
“Pretty sister.”
The aloofness around Xu Yuqing miraculously vanished in that moment. She reached out her hand. Ning Qianqian glanced at Ning Hanzhu and, upon getting approval, placed her small hand in it.
The big and the small entered the spaceship first.
Luo Tianran pointed a finger at Ning Hanzhu and then quickly followed.
Lu Yutang beside them was puzzled. “Why is she provoking you?”
Ning Hanzhu, “…”
The two could hear their idle chat from afar.
“Who is this such pretty little sister?”
“Qianqian, call her Sister Tianran.”
“Sister Tianran.”
“Aiya, this little sister is so cute. Come, let sister kiss you.”
…
Ning Hanzhu’s room and Lu Yutang’s room were right next door. Probably considering that she needed to look after her sister, her room even had a double bed, and the layout was larger than Lu Yutang’s.
From the furnishings and decorations, it outshone her previous rental by a mile.
Lu Yutang did not care at all and immediately threw himself onto the bed. The soft mattress was like a cloud, and as soon as he sank in, he got stuck. He flailed his legs wildly, only making it harder to gain leverage. “Damn, Bamboo, come pull me out.”
Ning Hanzhu nearly died laughing and hauled him out before heading to her own room.
She tossed her luggage in the room and went to find Ning Qianqian. In the end, she had to ask someone and learned that Xu Yuqing and Luo Tianran had taken her to the restaurant for a meal.
“Eat this fruit. It’s very sweet. Qianqian, try it.”
“Gurulu beast meat is the most suitable for children—easy to digest. Ah, Qianqian, open your mouth.”
“This is cloud tree soup. Doesn’t it smell great? I had the kitchen add some blue fruit.”
Ning Qianqian’s little mouth was so busy it could barely keep up. Luo Tianran had ordered a full long table of food for her, and by Ning Hanzhu’s estimate, it was no less than a Manchu-Han Imperial Feast.
“Qianqian.”
“Ji, ji.”
Her little mouth was stuffed full of food.
Xu Yuqing wiped it for her from the side. “Qianqian, chew slowly when you eat. Speak after you’ve finished.” Then she patted Luo Tianran’s hand, which was reaching over again. “Even if you like Qianqian, you can’t feed her like this.”
From their days together, Xu Yuqing had some sense of Ning Qianqian’s stomach capacity.
Luo Tianran looked aggrieved. “Sister Xu, didn’t you feed her a lot too?”
Ning Hanzhu said, “That—”
Xu Yuqing argued her case. “Mine was reasonable feeding—well-founded. I know what Qianqian likes and doesn’t like.”
Luo Tianran was unconvinced. “Qianqian, wasn’t the cloud tree soup Sister Tianran just fed you delicious?”
Ning Qianqian nodded blankly.
Luo Tianran smiled. “See, Sister Xu? Qianqian says she likes it.”
Xu Yuqing said, “Qianqian, let’s not drink any more, or you’ll wet the bed tonight.”
Ning Hanzhu said, “Could you—let me get a word in?” Listen to her say one thing.
The two spoke in unison. “We’re talking. Can’t you, an Alpha, keep out of it?”
Ning Hanzhu, “…”
What was wrong with being an Alpha?
Was she hallucinating?
They were even pulling this gender discrimination nonsense.
Weren’t they all girls?
