- Chapter 10 - The Villain Is Truly Soft-Hearted
Shen Yuanyi rubbed her nose and handed the clean clothes to Qi Ning’an.
Qi Ning’an chose a white dress, leaving Shen Yuanyi no choice but to pick a white shirt paired with high-waisted trousers.
“Um… I’ll step out first. You can change,” Shen Yuanyi said, clutching her clothes, shivering from the cold.
“As long as we turn our backs to each other, it should be fine, right?”
“This…”
Qi Ning’an tilted her head, her rabbit-like eyes gazing at Shen Yuanyi. “Don’t you trust me?”
“No, no!” Shen Yuanyi quickly shook her head in denial. “Aren’t you afraid I might peek?”
“Would you peek at me?”
Shen Yuanyi shook her head, the tips of her ears turning red. “No!”
“Then it’s settled.” Qi Ning’an took Shen Yuanyi’s hand and smiled, tilting her head. “I trust you.”
The big villain was just too naive. If she ever encountered a scheming alpha, she wouldn’t even realize she was being taken advantage of.
Shen Yuanyi pouted. “You can only trust me. Don’t trust any other alphas.”
Qi Ning’an openly squeezed Shen Yuanyi’s hand, suppressing her excitement as she nodded. “Then my puppy can only do this with me. No other omegas allowed.”
The little wolf, completely unaware of what was happening, nodded earnestly. “Mm.”
The big bad wolf disguised as a rabbit felt like fireworks were exploding in her head. Her teeth chattered as she clenched her jaw tightly, afraid she might lose control and burst into laughter.
Hurry up and take off your clothes, ahaha~ I’m about to see my puppy’s bare body.
“I’ll count to three, and we’ll both turn around.”
“Okay, puppy.”
“Three, two, one.”
Shen Yuanyi spun around abruptly, her heart pounding violently. She gritted her teeth, mentally reinforcing that no matter what sounds she heard, she wouldn’t turn back.
This was a promise—Qi Ning’an’s trust in her. She couldn’t betray that trust.
Slowly unbuttoning her damp clothes, she shed her jacket, then the undershirt beneath. Like a bud on the verge of blooming, she exuded an intoxicating fragrance.
Qi Ning’an cupped her cheeks, breathing lightly. Puppy, puppy, puppy…
“Ahaha…”
Her eyes fixated unblinkingly on Shen Yuanyi’s smooth, fair back, she couldn’t resist the urge to reach out and touch it, her fingertips trembling.
Reason and desire waged war in her mind. If she got caught, her puppy would never trust her again—it wouldn’t be worth it. But just one light touch…
A sudden icy, soft sensation trailed down Shen Yuanyi’s back. Her body stiffened, her eyes widening as she nearly cried out.
She wanted to turn and see what was happening, but she had promised Qi Ning’an she wouldn’t look.
“Qi… Qi Ning’an…” Shen Yuanyi’s voice trembled as the cold touch slithered down her spine like a snake, all the way to her tailbone.
“Sorry, I lost my balance for a second.”
“Whew.” Shen Yuanyi sighed in relief. So she had just stumbled. “Be careful, don’t fall.”
A faint “Mm” sounded beside her ear. The little rabbit was just too adorable.
Shen Yuanyi dismissed it and calmly unbuttoned her pants, sliding them down to her ankles. A heavy, panting noise faintly reached her ears, making her pause.
What a strange sound. It almost felt like greedy eyes were watching her from behind, breathing heavily.
She shook her head, gripping her fingers tightly. Don’t turn around, don’t turn around. She had promised Qi Ning’an.
The breathing grew louder, like a venomous snake hissing.
Unable to resist, she cautiously asked, “Qi Ning’an, what’s wrong with you?”
“Nothing much.”
“Alright.” These words left Shen Yuanyi speechless. She tried to force a smile but found she couldn’t.
Her sixth sense warned her of danger—a greedy beast was watching her, leaving her uneasy and unsettled.
Her heart pounded rapidly. How could a little white rabbit be a big bad wolf? Qi Ning’an is the most harmless person there is.
Puppy, puppy, puppy…
Qi Ning’an licked the corner of her lips, her cheeks flushed. She wanted so badly to taste that thigh, to run her hands along that slender waist.
“Ah~” A tingling current surged through her body as her brain buzzed with excitement, flooding with dopamine.
Those firm muscles, that smooth, fair skin—perfect, absolutely perfect.
“Qi… Qi Ning’an, I’m done changing,” Shen Yuanyi whispered, her hands clenched into fists at her chest.
Snapping out of her trance, Qi Ning’an quickly stripped off her own dress and pulled on a fresh one. “Almost done, just a second.”
What a shame. I wish time could stretch just a little longer.
After fastening the sash of her dress, she took a deep breath to steady herself. “I’m ready.”
Shen Yuanyi pressed her lips together in a small smile and turned her head, noticing the faint blush on Qi Ning’an’s face. She tilted her head. “Why is your face so red?”
“Huh? Really?” Qi Ning’an, suddenly flustered, touched her cheeks as if confirming it for herself, then lowered her head shyly.
Shen Yuanyi figured it made sense—an alpha and an omega changing clothes in the same room would naturally make an innocent little rabbit feel embarrassed.
She quickly changed the subject. “I’ll go grab some food. What would you like?”
“Whatever you choose.”
The little rabbit’s voice was soft.
Seeing this, Shen Yuanyi couldn’t help but think, The big villain is so pure!
Biting back a laugh, she stepped out and returned with a plate of grilled meat and sliced fruit. Outside, the wind howled as if signaling an approaching storm.
To Shen Yuanyi, the gathering felt like a free buffet. Chewing on a piece of beef while holding a slice of orange, she asked, “Qi Ning’an, when are you heading back?”
The elegant woman seated on the sofa patted her head. “Whenever you want to go.”
“Cough.” Shen Yuanyi swallowed the grilled meat, wiped her mouth with a napkin, and shot Qi Ning’an a reproachful look.
“Really,” Qi Ning’an giggled behind her fingers.
Shen Yuanyi pouted and muttered under her breath, “Then I want to leave now.”
That way, you won’t see… certain scenes.
Instead of a reply, she heard a creak.
The lounge door opened, revealing a figure peeking inside. The person sighed in relief upon spotting Shen Yuanyi.
Shen Yuanyi recognized them—the original protagonist’s friend.
The friend winked at her, signaling for her to come out. Shen Yuanyi understood.
With a resigned sigh, she took Qi Ning’an’s hand. “Sis, I want some grilled oysters. They were still cooking earlier, but they should be ready now.”
Qi Ning’an, still seated gracefully on the sofa, smiled as if oblivious and stood up. “Alright.”
The person at the door shrank back slightly under Qi Ning’an’s gaze.
Shen Yuanyi held Qi Ning’an’s hand as they strolled around aimlessly. At some point, their fingers had unconsciously intertwined. Whenever Shen Yuanyi spotted delicious food, she’d inevitably stop in her tracks, unable to move another step.
After all, in this world, there was nothing that wasn’t delicious except boiled chicken br3ast.
Qi Ning’an, ever attentive to her partner’s preferences, picked up a piece of beef with her chopsticks and fed it to Shen Yuanyi, who happily opened her mouth wide to accept it.
Between bites and laughter, the gathering didn’t seem so dull after all.
A strong gust of wind blew chili oil from the barbecue onto Qi Ning’an’s white dress. Shen Yuanyi immediately set down her food, grabbed a tissue, and crouched to wipe the stain off Qi Ning’an’s skirt.
Her face was full of guilt—she hadn’t expected the oil from her barbecue to drip onto Qi Ning’an.
“I’m sorry,” Shen Yuanyi said, looking up at Qi Ning’an.
“It’s fine. I’ll just go to the restroom to clean it,” Qi Ning’an replied calmly, her expression unreadable—whether she was upset or simply indifferent was unclear.
Shen Yuanyi clenched her fingers and added, “I’m sorry. I’ll buy you a new dress.”
Qi Ning’an released Shen Yuanyi’s hand and turned back with a gentle smile. “It’s really okay.”
The big villain’s temper is so good!!!
Reluctantly leaving Shen Yuanyi behind, Qi Ning’an headed to the restroom. There, she suddenly noticed someone sneaking around suspiciously on the second floor of the villa. The moment the person saw her, their eyes lit up, and they rushed toward her.
Qi Ning’an looked down calmly at the woman kneeling at her feet, her long hair disheveled, tears welling in her eyes. “P-please, take me away from here.”
“And you are?” Qi Ning’an maintained her poised demeanor, gazing down at the woman as if bestowing mercy upon her.
“You don’t recognize me? We were classmates.”
Qi Ning’an met countless people every day. She offered a polite smile and pried the woman’s fingers off her skirt. “Sorry, I don’t know you.”
“Qi Ning’an, how can you forget the people you’ve hurt so easily?” The woman sobbed hysterically, her pitiful appearance tugging at the heartstrings.
“You ruined me in high school. Your twisted games destroyed me. How can you just forget?”
“Oh, really? Then I’m sorry,” Qi Ning’an replied indifferently, ruthlessly shaking off the woman’s grip.
Memories from so long ago—who could possibly remember? What a lunatic.
The woman clung desperately to Qi Ning’an’s skirt, glaring up at her. “Take me away from Zhou Huan, or I’ll tell your little alpha everything you’ve done. Let her see your twisted side—how you humiliated people.”
“Any normal person would run far away once they knew the things you’ve done.”
Qi Ning’an’s fingers tightened. She held her breath, her gaze turning icy as she stared at the woman.
——
Shen Yuanyi suddenly remembered the plot where the female lead confronts the villain. She had only stepped away for a moment—surely the female lead wouldn’t have found Qi Ning’an already?
An uneasy feeling settled in her chest, and the barbecue in her mouth suddenly lost its flavor.
She regretted not offering to accompany Qi Ning’an. It was all her fault for being too greedy for food.
Just as she set down her chopsticks to go look for Qi Ning’an, the latter returned with a timid, pitiful-looking woman in tow.
If Qi Ning’an was a little rabbit, then this woman was a wounded rabbit that evoked sympathy.
That was how Shen Yuanyi saw it, and her heart swelled with compassion.
“And this is…?” Shen Yuanyi had a vague suspicion—it seemed the plot was unavoidable after all.
Qi Ning’an walked over with a smile and gently stroked Shen Yuanyi’s head. “Let’s go home. This poor lady would like a ride with us.”
“Ow.” Shen Yuanyi wasn’t too happy, his eyes fixed on the woman who had buried her head in his shoulder.
The big villain truly had a soft heart.
“What’s wrong, puppy?” Qi Ning’an took a step forward, asking with concern in his eyes, carefully observing whether Shen Yuanyi was angry.
Shen Yuanyi immediately shook his head and forced out a smile.
