- Chapter 25 - My Wish is to Have a Relationship with You
Shen Yuanyi, who noticed no change in Qi Ning’an, was terrified she might find out about the lost birthday gift. Nervous as a crab scuttling sideways, she muttered, “I’m leaving now.”
She inched away from Qi Ning’an, then turned and ran as if demons were chasing her.
Watching that retreating figure, Qi Ning’an felt her heart being slashed open. It was over—Shen Yuanyi was leaving her again.
“Don’t go,” Qi Ning’an whispered, fingers trembling, teeth chattering. Tears spilled uncontrollably from her eyes, heavy drops smashing against the ground. “Don’t leave me…”
As a six-time Best Actress winner, life had grown dull for Qi Ning’an. Though she hadn’t followed her mother’s path to become a renowned musician, she’d risen to become a national-level celebrity.
Before leaving for an overseas trip, her middle-aged mother—hair coiled in a bun—handed her a nearly bankrupt company and said, “If you’re bored, play a god game. Everything about her comes from you. Whether she soars as a global superstar or plummets into beggary, she’ll become whatever you desire.”
Her mother had delivered those words calmly over tea, feigning disinterest. But with the company now in her hands and nothing better to do, Qi Ning’an decided to visit and indulge in this so-called god game.
She never forced anyone to stay. Those who wanted to leave did, until only one girl remained—eyes gleaming, staring at her with unblinking excitement.
“Why aren’t you leaving?” Qi Ning’an asked.
The girl replied, “I want to become a world-famous star. I want to be seen.”
Like a fish biting the hook, the girl became an NPC in Qi Ning’an’s time-killing game. But reality wasn’t a stats-driven simulation. Qi Ning’an gave her gifts on special occasions, celebrated her achievements with hugs, and even when she poured resources into her, the girl kept failing. So, Qi Ning’an grieved alongside her.
They lived and ate together. As the game’s god, Qi Ning’an attended every event with her. But somewhere along the way, the NPC seemed to misunderstand.
“Jiejie, I really like you. Are we together now? Are we a couple?”
I’m her god. Everything she has comes from me. Did she think she was my only one?
“Our relationship has always been transactional,” Qi Ning’an said coldly. “You’re not my only pet. I have as many as I want.”
To prove it, she took on several alphas as sugar babies, embracing decadence. Yet inside, she was a mouse fleeing a cat—avoiding Shen Yuanyi, pretending to be busy, dodging her gaze.
It would’ve been fine if Shen Yuanyi cared. But she didn’t. Why didn’t she? Qi Ning’an was her only master. She should care.
A destructive urge took root. As a god, she could reduce Shen Yuanyi to a trampled slave. But it remained just a thought. Everything she has is mine. How can she not care?!
In the end, the god became a thief—stealing clothes her “pet” had worn, desperate for her attention. In that moment, Qi Ning’an was no longer a lofty deity.
She was just a wretched, creeping mouse.
Until the truth came to light, unwilling to be seen as a pervert, she drove the puppy away. When she really left, Qi Ning’an gradually realized she couldn’t lose her. What if she had just admitted their relationship as a couple back then?
“Don’t leave me. Look at me. I can give you everything—whatever you want. Trample me, dirty me, insult me, just don’t leave me.” Qi Ning’an cupped her face in her hands, pupils trembling uncontrollably.
“Qi Ning’an, this is the tea and tea set I got for you…” He Hongyun approached with an exquisitely wrapped gift, only to find Qi Ning’an with her head lowered. It wasn’t until she got closer that she noticed the tears.
Muttering words she couldn’t understand, the proud alpha assumed it was from being moved, regretting her past choices. She lifted her chin arrogantly. “Stop crying. Didn’t I come for your birthday? Here’s your gift.”
Qi Ning’an ignored her, walking straight past with her head down, emanating an oppressive aura.
But He Hongyun took it as the omega’s pride, blaming her own harsh words earlier. Still, she refused to comfort her—she wanted Qi Ning’an to know she was wrong.
“If you don’t want it, I’ll throw it away. Don’t regret it later.”
As Qi Ning’an walked further away, seemingly deaf to her words, He Hongyun finally grew anxious. Clenching her fists, she followed. “Fine, I won’t throw it. The gift is still yours—just apologize, and I’ll give it to you.”
Qi Ning’an finally reacted, turning back with bloodshot eyes. “Don’t… leave… me.”
After just one glance, she turned away and kept walking.
He Hongyun stood frozen. Was that meant for her? Her heart softened instantly—she wanted to say forget it, she wasn’t angry anymore. But then she remembered the severance pay from two years ago, how Qi Ning’an had knelt, begging to stay by her side, only to be ignored as she walked away.
“Serves you right. It’s too late for regrets now.” Watching the retreating figure, she crossed her arms and lifted her chin.
She wanted Qi Ning’an to beg on her knees, admitting she was wrong and full of regret.
——
Amid the swirling snow and howling wind, Shen Yuanyi shivered violently, rubbing her arms before gritting her teeth and running outside the villa. Turning on her phone’s flashlight, she searched meticulously for the gift meant for Qi Ning’an.
Just three sheets of paper—nothing valuable. If she couldn’t find them, she’d borrow a pen and rewrite: “Qi Ning’an, these are wish-fulfillment coupons. Ask me to do anything.”
Kicking at the snow, she found nothing. Where had they flown off to?
Meanwhile, Qi Ning’an retrieved a stun baton from the storage room, testing its charge. Her tears had long dried up, leaving none to fall. She forced a smile, ensuring Shen Yuanyi wouldn’t notice anything amiss and grow wary.
In the dim room, the mirror on the wall reflected her terrifying expression—her smile chilling to the bone.
Crunch, crunch. Shen Yuanyi heard footsteps in the snow and turned to see Qi Ning’an. She straightened immediately. “You… why are you out here?”
The wariness was unmistakable. Was she afraid of what Qi Ning’an might do?
“Shen Yuanyi, where do you think you’re running off to?” Qi Ning’an tapped the stun baton behind her back, the crackling electric current barely audible in the freezing wind that carried the sound away from Shen Yuanyi’s ears.
“I…” Shen Yuanyi forced a smile, taking a small step back while her eyes darted around, searching for the lost gift. “I wasn’t planning to run anywhere.”
“Is that really true?”
Her retreat didn’t escape Qi Ning’an’s notice, darkening her gaze further. Teeth clenched, fingers tightening around the stun baton, she took a large step forward.
Shen Yuanyi chuckled awkwardly, completely unaware of the danger, her eyes still scanning the surroundings—which, to Qi Ning’an, only meant she was looking for an escape route.
“Ah!” Spotting the three pieces of paper outside the villa gate, Shen Yuanyi ignored Qi Ning’an standing right in front of her and turned to dash toward them.
Qi Ning’an pressed the button on the stun baton, her expression fierce, legs coiled to lunge.
Unexpectedly, Shen Yuanyi tripped over the gate’s threshold and fell forward, scraping her palms and bruising her knees. Instead of getting up immediately, she slowly rose, rubbing her sore hands—her carefully prepared gift for Qi Ning’an was just within reach.
Zzzt—zzzt. Hearing the strange noise, Shen Yuanyi turned her head in confusion to see Qi Ning’an approaching at a leisurely pace, hands behind her back. Was she hiding something?
No matter—she’d grab the gift first.
“Shen Yuanyi, don’t leave me.” Qi Ning’an cranked up the stun baton’s voltage, blue arcs flickering behind her as she raised it, aiming for the back of Shen Yuanyi’s neck.
“Qi Ning’an.” Shen Yuanyi turned around, holding up three colorful sheets of paper. “Happy birthday. This is… your gift.”
Staring at the items in the oblivious girl’s hands, Qi Ning’an froze.
What was this?
Blinking rapidly, the air grew thick with awkwardness. That thing in Qi Ning’an’s hand—wasn’t that a stun baton?
“Oh, really? I’m so happy!” Qi Ning’an immediately hid her hands behind her back again, flashing an innocent smile.
“Yeah… the gift I gave you earlier got blown away by the wind. I didn’t want you to know, so I ran down to find it myself,” Shen Yuanyi explained, still puzzled.
She pointed at Qi Ning’an’s back. “Sis… isn’t that a stun baton in your hand?” She scratched her cheek with a finger, tilting her head. “What’s the point of holding it?”
Qi Ning’an’s expression remained calm, flawless. “I found it in the storage room. Just checking if it still works.”
Ah, maintenance. Shen Yuanyi nodded, brushing the snow off her clothes as she stood up and handed the three sheets to Qi Ning’an. “Do you think this gift will surprise you?”
Her burning gaze locked onto Qi Ning’an.
Qi Ning’an smiled, then suddenly pulled her into a tight embrace, resting her chin on Shen Yuanyi’s shoulder. “You are my surprise. You are my gift. Don’t leave me, okay?”
“Oh… I’m honored.” Flustered by the hug, Shen Yuanyi stiffened, pressing her hands against her thighs. “I won’t leave you.”
The heavy snow carried the scent of tea from Qi Ning’an’s clothes, making Shen Yuanyi’s heart race. If anyone else had held her like this, she wouldn’t have dwelled on the warmth or softness beneath their clothes—but Qi Ning’an was the exception.
Her mind flooded with memories of the last time she had stayed over at Qi Ning’an’s place… and the dream she’d had that night.
Shen Yuanyi fearfully pushed Qi Ning’an away and took a step back. “Take a look at the gift I got you. It’s quite cold outside too—let’s go in, sis.”
What was wrong with her? Fantasizing about this innocent little rabbit—how disgraceful.
Having a loyal puppy like Qi Ning’an was already more than enough. Though having been pushed away stung a little, it was far better than the puppy leaving altogether.
She gave a soft “Mhm” and nodded, unfolding the paper in her hands. The moment she saw the words written on it, her head snapped up, eyes shining bright.
Shen Yuanyi rubbed her nose and raised an eyebrow. “A wish card. Whatever you want, I’ll make it happen.”
“Really?” Qi Ning’an clung to one of her arms.
“Mm-hmm.”
Qi Ning’an handed a slip to Shen Yuanyi. “I want to use one right now.”
“So soon?” Shen Yuanyi cleared her throat lightly. “Alright.” She took the wish card with one hand—then tore it to pieces.
“My wish is to sleep with you.”
