- Chapter 4 - Not Holding Hands or Kissing Cheeks, But Kissing Lips
Qi Ning’an’s eyes sparkled with unusual excitement. Even the slightest sound during their escape could risk exposing both her and Shen Yuanyi.
She imagined those people as ghosts, picturing herself and the “puppy” trapped in a horror game with the mission to escape the auction.
Though getting caught wouldn’t have serious consequences, she had set an internal rule—they couldn’t be discovered.
They made it out, thrilling and exhilarating.
For Qi Ning’an, the most terrifying thing in the world was boredom.
“Listen, it’s still pounding so fast—why is that?”
Ahhhh—! Shen Yuanyi screamed internally, eyes widening as she leaned her neck back.
The scent from the omega’s gland at the nape flooded her nostrils, her body burning from the inside out, heart hammering wildly.
Gulp. Swallowing hard, Shen Yuanyi muttered, “It’ll calm down after resting. Must be from rushing out of the auction just now.”
She said it for Qi Ning’an’s sake—and her own.
The little white rabbit nodded vaguely, lips pressed into a smile as she took a step back.
“Puppy’s so amazing. Thank you, puppy.”
Shen Yuanyi took a deep breath, hands on her hips as she savored the late summer breeze.
She flicked her hair with a pinky nail, chin lifted proudly, chest puffed out.
Being praised felt incredible—like her nose might tilt right up to the sky.
Standing by the wide roadside, she glanced at Qi Ning’an, who looked utterly serene in the night wind.
With time to spare, she wondered if the main antagonist would really come after her. The drugging incident hadn’t scarred the villain’s psyche, preserving that originally pure heart.
The later descent into darkness wasn’t her problem. As long as she stayed away from the antagonist and the main cast, she could live just fine in this world.
At that thought, Shen Yuanyi cleared her throat. “Um… I want to end our patron relationship.”
“Hm?” Qi Ning’an whipped her head around. Those once-innocent eyes darkened instantly, hollow like a vengeful spirit’s—as if she might strangle Shen Yuanyi for repeating those words.
But the intensity vanished in a flash. Qi Ning’an was just a harmless little rabbit again, blinking at her.
“What’s wrong?”
Shen Yuanyi leaned back, waving hurriedly. “N-Nothing.”
She scratched her cheek, head lowered. She wasn’t unaware of how much the original owner owed Qi Ning’an—resources, money, all under the guise of patronage without even demanding so much as a bark in return. The debt of gratitude was immeasurable.
Now, proposing to sever ties—putting herself in Qi Ning’an’s shoes—she couldn’t help but feel it was unfair.
Pursing her lips, she kicked a pebble. Original owner, ah, original owner, why must you leave me such a mess?
A sickly sweet voice reached her ears. Shen Yuanyi looked up to see a golden-haired woman and her friends swaying closer. “Wanna play a game with us?”
“Huh? What game?”
Clustered in small groups, disheveled and reeking of pheromones in the dead of night—right after the auction hall’s mass pheromone outbreak—the nature of their “game” was obvious.
Only Shen Yuanyi genuinely pondered what they meant.
“Puppy, I feel so hot.”
Shen Yuanyi’s neck was suddenly pulled into an embrace, her vision blocked as warm, moist breath brushed against her skin. Her attention shifted from the crowd to Qi Ning’an, sending a shiver down her spine.
They were way too close. The villain’s body was so soft.
And now that she mentioned it, she felt unbearably hot too. Qi Ning’an’s pheromones smelled intoxicating.
She wanted to blame the scorching wind for the heat.
What a feeble excuse—as if hugging each other would make it any cooler.
The onlookers, seeing this, left without a word.
“I want to have a relationship with you,” Qi Ning’an murmured, her lips almost grazing Shen Yuanyi’s ear.
“A-a relationship?!” The words made Shen Yuanyi’s heart skip a beat.
“Holding hands.”
At that, Shen Yuanyi exhaled in relief, nearly forgetting how she had explained “having a relationship” to Qi Ning’an in the first place.
She nodded and reached out to take Qi Ning’an’s hand. “Okay.”
“Why so surprised? Isn’t holding hands a relationship?” Qi Ning’an teased, blowing a warm breath into her ear.
“Ah? No, no—”
“Hmm? No? So holding hands isn’t a relationship?”
Shen Yuanyi accidentally bit her tongue in panic and hurried to correct herself. “Yes, yes! Holding hands is a relationship.”
“Phew.” Qi Ning’an relaxed, rising on her tiptoes to rest her chin on Shen Yuanyi’s shoulder. “I thought my little puppy was lying to me.”
“Uh…” Shen Yuanyi guiltily averted her gaze skyward. “How could I? I’d never lie to you.”
Qi Ning’an’s lips curled into a faint smirk, her eyes sparkling with amusement at toying with her.
Before long, the Qi family’s chauffeur arrived. Qi Ning’an checked the time—her next heat wave was due soon.
She loosened her embrace and calmly announced she had to leave.
Shen Yuanyi’s eyes grew misty, looking at her with the pitiful gaze of a puppy.
Qi Ning’an tilted her head in feigned confusion, their eyes locked in silence.
“Something wrong?” Qi Ning’an smiled, hands folded politely over her abdomen.
Shen Yuanyi opened her mouth, struggling to speak. “Please…”
“Please?”
“Please… stay with me a little longer.”
She shut her eyes, bracing for the embarrassment.
Qi Ning’an glanced at the sky, indifferent. “But it’s late. I need to rest—I have an event tomorrow.”
The night breeze only fueled the heat. Shen Yuanyi undid her collar button and impulsively threw her arms around Qi Ning’an’s waist.
“It’s so hot,” she panted, every breath scalding. Clinging tighter, she scrambled for an excuse to keep her there.
Her muddled mind drew a blank.
“Are you asking to come home with me?” Qi Ning’an suggested.
Yes, yes!
Shen Yuanyi’s eyes lit up as she nodded eagerly. “Mhm. Take me home, jiejie.”
“Say it properly. I want to hear you beg, ‘Please, jiejie, take me home.'”
Shen Yuanyi stared at her with damp eyes, wondering if the villain had been possessed.
That innocent gaze was almost too pure.
She cursed herself inwardly—how could she doubt someone so guileless?
Maybe Qi Ning’an just wanted confirmation, afraid she was being tricked.
Gritting her teeth, Shen Yuanyi clenched her fists and forced out the words:
“P-please, jiejie… take me home.”
The tips of her ears instantly turned as red as boiled crab shells. Without even touching them, she knew they must be burning hot right now.
After a long silence, Qi Ning’an’s voice suddenly broke through, “Alright, puppy. Big sister will take you home.”
For some reason, she felt like Qi Ning’an was barely holding back laughter when saying this.
Looking up, Qi Ning’an’s face still wore that harmless smile, so she smiled back.
Lowering her head to hide her grin, she silently repeated to herself: The villain is pure and innocent, like a six-year-old child, a blank slate.
“Thank you, sister.” Shen Yuanyi rested her chin on Qi Ning’an’s shoulder, greedily inhaling the fresh, elegant scent of tea.
“You’re welcome, puppy.” Qi Ning’an tightened her arms around the little alpha’s slender waist, deeply breathing in the rich cream-scented pheromones in the air, her eyes gleaming with something unsettling.
The driver got out to help Shen Yuanyi into the car, closed the door, and started the engine.
The soothing car music played softly as the air purifier hummed. Feeling unwell, Shen Yuanyi leaned against Qi Ning’an’s shoulder, then boldly laid her head on Qi Ning’an’s lap.
She couldn’t understand why her body felt so hot. Anyone else would have realized they’d been drugged, but she stubbornly believed in the plot—the story said it was the villain who got drugged, not a minor character like her.
It must be some issue with her original body. She made a mental note to get a medical checkup soon.
Meanwhile, Qi Ning’an was eagerly anticipating their next physical encounter—imagining tying the puppy’s hands to the bedposts, slowly removing her clothes piece by piece, or making the lust-drunk puppy beg on her knees for pheromones before tearfully claiming her.
Her body grew feverish, lips curling slightly.
Hurry home. Hurry! She couldn’t wait any longer…
Her gaze fell on Shen Yuanyi, who was whimpering softly on her lap, and she planted a gentle kiss on the puppy’s cheek.
Shen Yuanyi, who had been pretending to sleep, opened her eyes—glistening with unshed tears.
Qi Ning’an smiled, dispelling the puppy’s doubts.
The drive from the auction house to the Qi family villa took exactly one hour.
By the time they arrived, Shen Yuanyi was immobilized by desire, every inch of her skin hypersensitive, craving touch at the slightest brush.
“Big sister… I feel so awful,” Shen Yuanyi whimpered, clutching Qi Ning’an’s clothes.
The empty villa stood brightly lit, but Qi Ning’an paid no attention, completely focused on the feverish puppy in her arms.
“Awful? How exactly?” The wolf continued playing the innocent rabbit.
“I want to… be with sister…” Shen Yuanyi forced out the words with difficulty.
“Oh~” Qi Ning’an nodded with a pure smile, “Alright, let’s hold hands then.”
Tears welled in Shen Yuanyi’s desperate eyes, “Not holding hands.”
“Not holding hands…” The fake rabbit pretended to think, then brightened, “How about cheek kisses? Let’s kiss cheeks.”
“No.” Shen Yuanyi burst into tears, her lust-drunk expression breathtakingly beautiful, irresistibly tempting enough to make one’s mouth water.
“No?” Qi Ning’an maintained her clueless act.
With great effort, Shen Yuanyi pushed herself up and crawled over, pinning Qi Ning’an against the car window.
“P-puppy…” The wolf’s eyes darted nervously, playing the frightened rabbit caught off guard by this sudden move.
Shen Yuanyi gritted his teeth, unable to care about anything else. Closing his eyes, his soft lips pressed against Qi Ning’an’s, while the creamy scent of pheromones released from the nape of his neck enveloped the person wrapped in the tea-like fragrance.
The driver in the car had sensed the situation was off and left as soon as they arrived at the villa.
Standing by the villa’s glass window was a young woman in a white lab coat, her black hair cascading like a waterfall, gold-rimmed glasses perched on her nose. Watching the scene unfold in the car below, she let out a cold snort and muttered resentfully, “Weren’t you the one who said you’d be drugged? How did it end up being the other way around—someone getting drugged by you?”
