- Chapter 6 - Installing a Pin Hole Camera
“Qi, Qi Ning’an…” Shen Yuanyi’s parted lips closed as her chest heaved, meeting those innocent eyes.
Her fingers twitched slightly, tightening around the medical report in her hand.
Should she just ask Qi Ning’an outright—was it her who drugged her yesterday, causing her to lose consciousness intermittently?
“What’s wrong, puppy?” Qi Ning’an smiled at her, looking utterly harmless.
Would someone who didn’t even know how relationships worked really drug another person?
Shen Yuanyi folded the report in half and slipped it into the yellow duckling crossbody bag on her shoulder before cheerfully skipping over to open the car door and settling into the passenger seat.
“Qi Ning’an, how did you know I was at the hospital?”
“I happened to see you while passing by, so I stopped to pick you up,” Qi Ning’an replied flawlessly, not a single crack in her expression.
“More importantly, are you feeling unwell? Why were you at the hospital?”
Shen Yuanyi clutched her little duck bag tighter and turned her head toward the window. “D-drugged…”
“Drugged?”
“Yeah, yesterday… someone drugged me.”
“Huh?” Qi Ning’an unbuckled her seatbelt and reached over to examine Shen Yuanyi. “Are you okay, puppy?”
“I’m fine.” Shen Yuanyi grinned, spreading her arms to let Qi Ning’an check.
Such a good villain—one who didn’t even understand relationships—couldn’t possibly be the one who drugged her.
It must have happened before she transmigrated into this body. The original owner had likely been drugged beforehand.
Shen Yuanyi fastened her seatbelt. “Thank you for yesterday. If it weren’t for you, I don’t know where I’d be lying unconscious right now.”
“You’re being too polite.” Qi Ning’an patted her head. “Even though we have a patron-client relationship, I’d rather see you soar like an eagle than remain a caged canary.”
Shen Yuanyi lowered her head, fingers gripping her pants in shame for the original owner’s actions.
The villain had poured all her resources into promoting her, yet she had been ungrateful, acted entitled, and even believed Qi Ning’an was just a simp humiliating her with money and opportunities. She had even considered using underhanded tactics like drugging to destroy the very person who lifted her up.
“I’m sorry…”
“Why are you apologizing?”
Shen Yuanyi looked up at Qi Ning’an, fingers twisting her pants. “I was too awful before.”
“Let’s not dwell on the past.” Qi Ning’an stroked her head before focusing on driving.
Her eyes remained fixed ahead, hands gripping the wheel tightly, palms sweating.
She had come so close to being exposed. The thrill of walking on a knife’s edge excited yet terrified her—like playing hide-and-seek with her puppy. But if caught, she would lose her forever, watching her walk away heartbroken.
“Are you staying at my place again tonight?” Qi Ning’an ventured, her voice trembling slightly, as if suppressing some fervent emotion.
Shen Yuanyi glanced at her, catching the confusion in her puppy-dog eyes through her peripheral vision.
She shook her head. “No.”
Qi Ning’an sighed in disappointment. “You’re going back to your place, then? I’ll drive you.”
“O-okay.”
What’s up with the big villain today? Did seeing enthusiastic fans at the event get her this worked up?
If it were her, she’d be too excited to sleep after meeting her fans too.
Qi Ning’an was truly a good person. She would never let the original story’s dark plot unfold.
“You keep staring at me like this…” Qi Ning’an’s ears turned red as she shyly glanced at Shen Yuanyi.
Shen Yuanyi snapped out of it, widening her eyes before hurriedly turning her head away. “Sorry, sorry.”
Qi Ning’an’s ears were burning red now, her fingers clutching the hem of her clothes as she lowered her head, screaming internally—what an innocent villain!!!
“Could I come to your place for some tea? I got thirsty rushing here from the event.” The excitement in Qi Ning’an’s eyes was barely contained, her heart pounding as she subtly eyed the Chanel bag in the car—inside were ten hidden cameras.
“O-okay.” Shen Yuanyi wasn’t sure if the original owner even had tea at home, already thinking she could buy some from a nearby store if needed.
For some reason, her heart raced nervously. The main villain visiting a cannon fodder like her—according to the plot of this BL novel, something was bound to happen. Like… the villain planting hidden cameras to monitor the pitiful life of this insignificant side character.
Shen Yuanyi stole another glance at Qi Ning’an’s serene, elegant profile and sighed in relief. There was no way the current villain would do something like installing cameras in her home.
Expecting such behavior from a pure-hearted villain whose ears turned red just from prolonged eye contact? Impossible.
She smiled faintly, gazing out the window at the fiery sunset.
Soon, the car pulled into the underground garage of a luxury building complete with concierge service, rooftop gardens, and a gym with a swimming pool.
This apartment in the business district had been fully paid for by Qi Ning’an under Shen Yuanyi’s name. A Maserati was also parked there—another gift from Qi Ning’an.
Seeing all this, Shen Yuanyi felt furious at the original owner’s incompetence. With such incredible advantages, how could she have ruined everything?
She wished the original owner could experience her idol group days—surviving on boiled chicken br3ast to maintain weight, crammed in a tiny dorm with four members, eventually counting down the days until contract termination rather than performances.
The villain is just too good!!!
“Shen Yuanyi? Shen Yuanyi?” Qi Ning’an waved a hand in front of her face. “You spaced out. Didn’t sleep well last night?”
“No, slept fine.” Shen Yuanyi smiled, opening the car door.
The villain’s devastating beauty almost made this cannon fodder’s heart waver. Taking a deep breath, she pressed a hand to her chest, feeling her pulse gradually steady.
Qi Ning’an grabbed her bag, shutting the car door with a smile. “Let’s go up. I want tea brewed by you personally.”
“Mhm.” Shen Yuanyi nodded, pressing her lips together.
The villain must know the original owner couldn’t brew tea, yet still trusted her enough to say that.
How enviable.
Lost in thought, she barely registered taking the elevator to the eighth floor. The original owner’s place had a massive reception area downstairs and bedrooms on the second floor.
In the kitchen cabinets, Shen Yuanyi found a box of white tea sealed two years ago—production date April 5, 2230. Though the box was dusty, the individually sealed tea pouches inside remained perfectly preserved.
She boiled a pot of water and found the broken tea set in the cabinet. It looked quite expensive—probably shattered carelessly by the original owner, that spendthrift, who then lazily left it there to gather dust.
She tossed the broken pieces into the trash, but her chest suddenly tightened, her throat clogged as if stuffed with a stone, an inexplicable discomfort weighing on her.
For some reason, looking at the mess in the kitchen, she felt like crying.
Maybe it was frustration at the original owner’s wastefulness, her inability to cherish things.
“Hiss—” The kettle whistled, signaling the water was ready.
Snapping out of her thoughts, Shen Yuanyi had no choice but to use an ordinary drinking glass for the tea. She carried the tray to the coffee table in the living room.
Scratching her cheek awkwardly, she met Qi Ning’an’s gaze. “There’s no proper tea set in the kitchen, so I had to make do with a regular cup. I’ll buy a new set in a few days—next time you visit, I’ll brew it properly.”
“It’s fine, puppy.” Qi Ning’an took the cup from the tray with elegant grace, blowing lightly on the surface before taking a small sip.
“Your tea is delicious,” she remarked, setting the cup down after just one tiny taste.
Shen Yuanyi leaned back, rubbing her nose, inwardly marveling at how effortlessly the villainess delivered emotional validation. She really knows how to flatter someone.
“Not at all,” Shen Yuanyi chuckled, tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear with her pinky.
After finishing her tea, Qi Ning’an announced she had to leave. Shen Yuanyi urged her to stay for dinner, but Qi Ning’an declined with a soft smile.
Assuming the actress must have evening plans—after all, A-listers were always busy—Shen Yuanyi didn’t press further. She escorted Qi Ning’an to the underground garage and watched the car disappear before returning upstairs.
Night fell. Shen Yuanyi sprawled across the leather sofa, idly flipping through TV channels while her attention remained glued to her phone.
The heat was unbearable. She undid the top two buttons of her shirt, the fabric riding up to reveal her pale, toned stomach. Alone at home, she could afford to be careless.
Unbeknownst to her, a hidden camera in the corner blinked red, recording everything.
In her car, Qi Ning’an hunched over her phone, watching the live feed, biting her finger as her breathing grew ragged.
“Haah… Puppy… I want to devour you…”
She longed to crawl through the screen, to wrap herself around Shen Yuanyi, to lick her neck, to drown in the creamy scent of her pheromones saturating the air.
Her teeth sank into her index finger, thighs pressing together. “Puppy, puppy, puppy…”
One hand cupped her flushed cheek, the screen’s blue light casting eerie shadows across her face. Her eyes reflected nothing but the tiny figure in the surveillance feed.
Meanwhile, Shen Yuanyi pondered the upcoming plot—specifically, the part involving the villainess. She vaguely recalled a scene where the female lead invited the antagonist to a villa party, only for the other female lead’s pheromones to spiral out of control, turning the gathering into an orgy.
Well, this is a PWP world. Uncontrollable pheromones leading to s3x is pretty standard.
This incident was also what pushed the pure-hearted villainess toward corruption.
Hurriedly, Shen Yuanyi fished out a pink skull-emblazoned business card from her bag. She seemed to remember the original owner’s friend mentioning something about Director Zhou hosting a villa party and asking her to keep an eye out.
Hesitating, she picked up her phone, debating whether to call Qi Ning’an and ask if she planned to attend. Before she could decide, her finger had already tapped the call button. Her heart leapt into her throat, pounding wildly.
Qi Ning’an was probably driving and wouldn’t answer, right? Would calling him now be annoying?
She felt like hanging up and backing out.
But Qi Ning’an answered before long, his gentle voice coming through the phone, “What’s up, puppy?”
Hearing his voice, Shen Yuanyi let out a relieved sigh, “You’re driving, aren’t you? If it’s inconvenient, you can hang up. I’ll call you later.”
“At a red light. Got about ten seconds left. Go ahead.”
Shen Yuanyi hugged her phone tightly, sitting up from the couch, and couldn’t resist kissing the screen.
The big villain is so nice!!!
