When I Was Reincarnated, All the Heroines Were Stolen by the Fake Hero ~ The Guy Who Dominated With Original Story Knowledge, and Me Who Dominated With Talent. It Seems the World After the Ending Is My One-Man Stage ~ - Episode 32
Episode 32
A shocking confession came from the girl who called herself Rururii. It left both Forleen and me speechless for a while.
Snapping out of it, I rushed into the mansion and explained the situation to Sebas.
He immediately grasped the seriousness of the situation. Despite the pain showing on his wrinkled face, he nodded quietly and took responsibility for looking after Rururii.
For now, Rururii would be protected under Sebas’ care here in the mansion.
—
I took Forleen to an empty room in the mansion. She seemed restless and clearly worried about Rururii as we waited together for Sebas to return.
After a short while, there was a soft knock at the door. And Sebas entered.
“Yutaka-sama. I’ve spoken with Rururii-sama for the time being. Fortunately, it seems that her interactions with male guests were limited to simple conversations. It had little to no physical contact.”
At that report, both Forleen and I let out a relieved sigh.
However, Sebas continued in a heavy tone:
“But… her ears appear to have been deformed in an unusual way. Whether this is something she was born with, or whether it was done to her later…”
He trailed off. A look of sorrow was overtaking him.
“To think such a young child had to go through something like that…”
Forleen looked as if she were grieving her own pain. Her heart was deeply wounded by what she had heard.
“…Absolutely unforgivable,”
I muttered. I could feel a dark, simmering anger rising within me.
Deformed ears… Come to think of it, from my knowledge of the old world, elves were said to have pointed ears.
But—no, surely not.
If she were an elf, someone as sharp as Sebas would have noticed immediately.
“She’s resting by herself for now. After Ron-sama returns, I plan to explain everything to Kotama as well.”
I nodded at Sebas’ words.
Then Sebas turned his gaze to Forleen, who was sitting beside me.
“And this lady here would be…?”
It seemed he hadn’t realized that the woman with her face hidden under a hood was Saintess Forleen herself.
Since she was here incognito, I couldn’t reveal her true identity.
“Ah, she’s an acquaintance of mine, a merchant named *Folly*. As you can see, she’s rather shy and not comfortable showing her face to others.”
I made up the name and backstory on the spot. But I thought it sounded natural enough.
Forleen seemed to understand my intent right away.
“…I go by Folly. I heard through the grapevine that Yutaka-sama had become the lord of Vixel Domain. Since I was visiting the capital, I thought I’d stop by to say hello.”
“I see,”
Sebas nodded. He was seemingly convinced.
“Sebas, I’d like to speak with her privately for a bit. Could you leave us alone? We’ll have lunch once we’re finished talking.”
“Understood. I shall take my leave.”
Sebas bowed deeply and quietly exited the room.
As the door closed with a *click*, both Forleen and I let out a simultaneous sigh.
“I’m so sorry, Yutaka-sama… I caused you unnecessary trouble…”
“Don’t worry about it. More importantly, if you hadn’t come here, we never would’ve been able to help Rururii.”
“Rururii-chan… I wonder if she’ll be alright…”
“She’ll be fine as long as she’s with Sebas. He’s truly someone you can count on.”
When I said that, Forleen’s expression softened just a little.
“If you say so, Yutaka-sama, then I feel reassured.”
But this wasn’t the end of the conversation.
There was still the matter of why she had come all the way to this remote region.
“So, Forleen. Why did you come all the way out here to the frontier? You said you faked illness to sneak out of the church… but what would you do if you got caught?”
Forleen replied calmly:
“There are people helping me. So it’s alright on that front.”
Then she stood up quietly.
“I wouldn’t want to overstay my welcome, so I should be going…”
She was already preparing to leave.
But she was the *saint*. For her to come alone all this way, at great risk, she must have had a very serious reason.
If she was troubled by something, I wanted to help.
Without thinking, I grabbed her arm to stop her.
“Y-Yutaka-sama!?”
Forleen let out a startled cry.
“You always give your all for the people. If someone like you is struggling… then I want to help you.”
I meant every word.
But her reaction wasn’t what I expected.
Her face—and even her ears—turned bright red. And she became flustered.
She lowered her gaze to the arm I was holding. She then spoke hesitantly, her voice small:
“Um… You once said that you’d visit the church soon, remember? I’ve been waiting ever since… I completely understand how busy you are. But I started to worry that something might have happened…”
That answer caught me completely off guard.
I stood frozen, still holding her arm.
Now that she mentioned it… Had I said something like that? Maybe I had…
But life as a frontier lord had been so overwhelming that I had completely forgotten.
No one could have predicted that the saint herself would travel all this way just to follow up on a simple promise.
