When I Was Reincarnated, All the Heroines Were Stolen by the Fake Hero ~ The Guy Who Dominated With Original Story Knowledge, and Me Who Dominated With Talent. It Seems the World After the Ending Is My One-Man Stage ~ - Episode 41
Episode 41
After successfully finishing the treatment of the Sacred Tree, Suun guided us to a hall located in the center of the village.
It seemed to be a place where the elves came to relax.
Some sat at the base of a huge tree quietly reading books, some talked peacefully in pairs under the dappled sunlight filtering through the leaves, some lazily ate fruits they had picked up from the ground, and some leaned comfortably against the tree, fast asleep…
It was an overwhelmingly peaceful and serene scene. It was completely untouched by conflict.
As we walked through that relaxed scenery, I suddenly spotted a familiar figure among those sleeping.
While the other elves were dressed in simple clothes made from natural materials, that person stood out awkwardly in a maid outfit.
I slowly approached and gently shook her small shoulder.
“Rururii.”
When I called her name, she drowsily rubbed her eyes as if content. And she slowly looked my way.
“Ah, my Lord~. You’re done~?”
That carefree tone was so typical of her, it was hard to believe she’d just been abducted.
“Yeah, thanks to you.”
Just then, Suun and Forleen arrived.
As soon as Forleen saw Rururii, she ran over and looked at her face with concern.
“Rururii-sama! I’m so glad you’re safe. Are you alright?”
“Yeah. They just sparkled their eyes and asked stuff like, ‘What was the outside world like?’ or, ‘Humans really do exist, huh~?’ and things like that.”
“I see. For all their appearances, they seem to have surprisingly cute sides to them.”
Suun chuckled softly. He was perhaps recalling the Guardians’ behavior.
Hearing that, a thought popped into my mind.
They weren’t uninterested in the outside world.
They simply followed their customs and chose not to leave the village. In that case, if we properly explained our situation, maybe…
Not wanting to miss this opportunity, I turned to Suun.
“Suun, I’d like to talk for a bit.”
I explained the current state of my territory as thoroughly as I could—how we were working on reconstruction with help from the beastfolk, and how we were severely lacking in doctors and healers.
“…and that’s the situation. Would it be possible for you to lend us your help?”
Suun answered sharply and without even a moment of hesitation.
“I’m sorry, but that’s not possible.”
It was such a blunt and unexpected reply that I was momentarily speechless.
Seeing my confusion, Suun calmly continued.
“It’s true that many of us elves have the aptitude to be healers. There are plenty here who can use healing magic or who are well-versed in medicine. However… most of them are extremely lazy.”
“L-Lazy…?”
Forleen echoed back in surprise.
“Yes. Since you’ve spent some time with Rururii, I’m sure you understand by now.”
Prompted by Suun’s gaze, I looked back at Rururii.
Before I realized it, she had already slumped against the tree again. She was looking limp and about to fall asleep.
I see. So most elves are like her.
All I could do was smile wryly at how naive my expectations had been.
So the negotiation had failed.
Or so I thought—until…
“However…”
Suun continued in a suggestive tone.
I focused on his face again.
“If it’s her, you’re welcome to take her with you.”
He said this with a pleasant smile.
“Her,” of course, meant Rururii.
The moment he said that, Rururii—who had been dozing—snapped her eyes open.
“Huh, Rururii-sama? But… does she even know healing magic?”
Forleen voiced the obvious concern.
“Oh, of course,”
Suun replied with a confident nod.
“Chief, don’t just decide that on your own,”
Rururii objected in a voice that was more firm than her usual carefree tone.
Still smiling, Suun gently rebuked her like a parent talking to a child.
“Rururii. I told you to ‘hurry and find the Saint,’ didn’t I? I even told you she should be in the church. I also told you, multiple times, to ignore any humans who approached you along the way. But… weren’t you making detours the whole time?”
He had probably heard rumors.
Cornered by Suun’s calm but relentless questions, Rururii gave a guilty expression. She groaned “Uu…” and looked away. She then began blowing a silent, whistling “tune” with her lips.
It was an obvious attempt to dodge the issue.
Seeing this exchange, I realized that despite his gentle appearance, Suun was quite the strategist.
“But… even though you’re offering her help, are you sure about this? Elves seem to be like something out of a fairy tale to humans—what if taking her to town causes a commotion…?”
“I’ll leave that part to you. Too much trouble for me.”
Suun said this with a perfect smile, as if saying, “Good luck.”
Hahaha… so he’s an elf through and through.
This decision likely wouldn’t be overturned.
Even though it felt like I was being pushed into it by Suun’s final comment, I was genuinely happy that we’d gained a valuable healer.
…………She will help, right?
