When I Was Reincarnated, All the Heroines Were Stolen by the Fake Hero ~ The Guy Who Dominated With Original Story Knowledge, and Me Who Dominated With Talent. It Seems the World After the Ending Is My One-Man Stage ~ - Episode 55
Episode 55
“W-Wait!? What’s with you all of a sudden…?”
Ulrika let out a surprised voice while trying to keep her balance on the broom.
It was understandable. Even I couldn’t recall ever seeing Raiza raise her voice this much.
She was usually calm and composed. She rarely ever showed emotion on the surface.
“What’s wrong, Raiza? Did something catch your eye?”
I asked. Raiza looked back and forth between me and the town. Her expression was as if she’d just witnessed something unbelievable.
“It’s not a matter of ‘what’s wrong’! Why is it that in this town called Kanaloa, beastkin and humans… and, um, that little old man? Why are they all just living together as if it’s the most natural thing in the world!?”
At her words, Ulrika let out a sigh. She sounded exasperated.
“He’s not a little old man, he’s a dwarf. A *dwarf*.”
“D-Dwarf… as in, the kind that appear in the founding legends? But… those tiny weird-looking… are actually real?”
Raiza looked utterly dumbfounded as she pointed toward a group of dwarves working nearby. Her fingertip seemed to tremble slightly.
“Yeah, that’s right. They recently decided to help us with our activities. Their craftsmanship is truly incredible.”
I looked around at the surrounding buildings.
The structures built by the dwarves were not only sturdy but also beautifully decorated in fine detail.
They were true works of art. It showcased their pride and sense as master artisans.
Seeing them here in this town made me feel once again how fortunate we were to have them.
Then, Raiza suddenly turned to me with a serious gaze.
“…Yutaka-sama. This is it. This is what we should promote as the appeal of the Vixel Domain.”
“This…?”
I couldn’t grasp her sudden proposal and asked back. I was still confused.
What exactly was she trying to say?
“Yes. The fact that different races are working hand in hand and coexisting. That alone could become the greatest charm of this land.”
“Well, I guess you wouldn’t see something like this in other places… but would that really create demand?”
To my doubt, Raiza responded in a firm tone.
“Absolutely. Without a doubt, there’s great demand.”
Then she lowered her voice slightly and continued.
“As you may know, beastkin are still—though rarely—traded as slaves. Even if they’re lucky enough to escape, there are hardly any environments that would accept them. Most end up wandering aimlessly and dying alone. Sadly, those cases never seem to end.”
Her words reminded me of Kotama.
If not for Sebas, she might’ve met the same tragic fate… The thought squeezed painfully at my chest.
Ulrika had been listening beside me. She whispered sadly, “That’s awful…”
“But this town, Kanaloa, could become an irreplaceable, comfortable home for beastkin—and for those kind-hearted enough to love them. If word spreads that this is a safe haven where they can live in peace, people will naturally start to gather.”
I see… That’s certainly a perspective I hadn’t considered.
Raiza’s words carried real weight.
I found myself impressed once again by her keen insight.
And Raiza continued.
“And then there are the dwarves. These days, they’re practically like mythical creatures that only appear in fairy tales. But the artifacts and buildings they left behind in the royal capital are still being traded at high prices among certain devoted collectors. If word gets out that dwarves live in this town, those enthusiasts might flood in.”
“There are really people like that…?”
I asked, half in doubt. Raiza nodded confidently.
“Yes. In the royal capital, some merchants and nobles still trade dwarven works as rare and highly valued art pieces.”
The world really is full of all kinds of people… I thought. I was once again impressed by Raiza’s extensive knowledge.
Ulrika had been listening. She then spoke up with a slightly troubled look.
“I kind of get what Raiza is saying… but how exactly do you plan on finding those kinds of people? The beastkin who need help, or people who want dwarven art—how would we even know where they are?”
That’s true.
Even if the demand exists, digging it up and connecting it to the Vixel Domain won’t be easy.
But Raiza responded calmly and confidently.
“There’s no need to worry. I have an idea.”
“An idea? What are you planning to do?”
I asked, and Raiza gave a slightly daring smile.
“Fortunately, I currently hold the position of Royal Treasurer. I plan to make full use of the authority that comes with it.”
The authority of a Royal Treasurer…?
To be honest, I had no clue what she intended to do.
But there was clear confidence in her eyes.
Then Raiza turned to me with a serious expression.
“Yutaka-sama. Would you please appoint me as acting governor of the Vixel Domain?”
The request was so sudden, it caught me off guard.
I felt torn between not wanting to burden her too much and not wanting to reject her when she was offering to act.
I had no idea what she was really planning.
But I knew from our time together that she was someone I could trust. If that’s the case, then…
“…Alright. If you’re that determined, I’ll leave it to you. I’m counting on you, Raiza.”
When I said that, Raiza bowed her head deeply.
“Please leave it to me, Yutaka-sama. I will *definitely* contribute to the revival of the Vixel Domain.”
Her voice carried unwavering determination.
