When I Was Reincarnated, All the Heroines Were Stolen by the Fake Hero ~ The Guy Who Dominated With Original Story Knowledge, and Me Who Dominated With Talent. It Seems the World After the Ending Is My One-Man Stage ~ - Episode 56
Episode 56
It had already been about three weeks since I entrusted Raiza with acting as the proxy lord of the Vixel Domain.
I had no idea what kind of measures she had taken. But the results appeared with surprising speed—and in a dramatic way.
Over the past few days, visitors had been arriving at my door without end.
At the moment, I was in the drawing room. I was facing a middle-aged man who introduced himself as a scholar.
He seemed to be researching dwarven history and culture. And his passion came through clearly in every part of his speech.
“So, Yutaka-sama! Are you truly saying that I may speak directly with the legendary dwarves themselves!?”
Overcome with excitement, the scholar leapt up from the sofa. His eyes were sparkling with enthusiasm.
Though slightly overwhelmed by his intensity, I nodded calmly.
“Yes, of course. That is, assuming they’re willing. I don’t intend to charge any sort of mediation fee or anything like that…”
Before I could even finish my sentence, the scholar seized both my hands tightly and shook them with fervor.
“Oooohh! I don’t even know how to properly thank you! I am deeply, deeply grateful, Yutaka-sama!”
He was so overjoyed he literally began hopping around like a child before leaving the room.
As I saw him off, I let out a small sigh of relief. I thought, “Finally, a break.”
Ever since about a week ago, a truly large number of people had been visiting the Vixel Domain.
A nobleman who had married a beastkin woman and was trying to escape society’s prejudices.
A quirky merchant who loved dwarven crafts above all else and dedicated his life to collecting them.
A compassionate woman who took in orphaned beastkin children and raised them with love.
They were people I never would have encountered during my journey to defeat the Demon King.
These past days reminded me again that the world truly is filled with all kinds of people.
—
Just then, I heard the soft sound of a door opening.
“Thank you for your hard work, Yutaka-sama.”
It was the butler Sebas. He entered the room with his usual gentle smile.
“Ah, Sebas… That was the last visitor for today, right?”
I asked, and he glanced down at the documents in his hand.
“Yes. Judging from the letters that have arrived in the Vixel Domain so far, that guest was the final one for today… Though, of course, it’s possible more visitors may arrive in the future.”
If even more people started pouring in, I might just collapse from a *different* kind of exhaustion.
I sighed lightly to myself.
“And, Yutaka-sama. Actually, Raiza-sama has also arrived.”
“Raiza? When did she get here…?”
“She arrived while you were entertaining the previous guest. She said she was happy to wait until your work was done. And she is currently in another room.”
“I see. I made her wait, then. That’s not very considerate of me. Could you bring her here right away?”
“Certainly. At once.”
Sebas gave a polite bow and left the drawing room quietly.
Shortly after, the door opened again. And Raiza appeared.
Her expression seemed to radiate a quiet sense of accomplishment.
I stood from the sofa to greet her.
“It’s been a while, Raiza.”
“It has, Yutaka-sama… And how have things been on your end?”
As she asked, she sat on the sofa without waiting for me to offer.
“Ah, thanks to you, every day has been incredibly busy. It’s what they call a ‘happy kind of chaos,’ though.”
I said, a bit proud. Raiza then gave a satisfied nod.
“That’s good to hear. I suppose things turned out just as I anticipated.”
There was a clear tone of confidence in her voice.
“But still, Raiza… What kind of magic did you use? To attract this many people to a territory that was practically deserted—it’s not something just anyone could pull off.”
I asked honestly. And Raiza responded without hesitation.
“Oh, it wasn’t anything special. I simply made full use of the royal family’s connections and sent letters to the appropriate individuals.”
“You used the royal family’s connections…?”
“Yes. The royal household keeps records of past transactions and information on important figures. From that, I identified people who were likely to have a strong interest in beastkin or dwarves. Then, through them, I asked for introductions to their acquaintances as well. I efficiently sent out letters detailing the current state of the Vixel Domain.”
I see.
So when she said she’d exercise her authority as Royal Treasurer, she was referring to accessing those records.
It was a precise and logical approach. Very much like her.
“But how did you manage to get the cooperation of the royal officials?”
I asked. And Raiza showed a slightly smug smile.
“Regarding that, His Majesty King Felix personally assisted me. Thanks to that, everything went very smoothly.”
“King Felix…!?”
That was unexpected. I never imagined that king to be so cooperative.
“Yes. When I explained the Vixel Domain’s restoration plan, His Majesty was quite pleased. Though… he did say something a bit unnecessary, like, ‘Hmm, Yutaka, huh? I suppose talent can bloom in the most unexpected places.’”
Raiza furrowed her brows slightly. She was seemingly annoyed as she recalled the memory.
King Felix—the very person who had granted me this territory.
For him to call my talent “unexpected” must mean he didn’t have high hopes for me in the first place.
Thinking that left me feeling just a little bit disappointed.
Still, thanks to his help, the restoration of the Vixel Domain had begun to take real shape.
And as I looked forward to the continually improving future of the Vixel Domain, I couldn’t help but feel excited.
