When I was working as a civil servant, I was found out to be a muscle-brained knight by the princess knight and got sent to the front lines - Episode 16
Episode 16
“Are we going to charge in again?”
“Do we have any other options?”
Jamil asked somewhat incredulously after hearing Jez’s statement about destroying the tunnel. Indeed, there weren’t many methods to destroy that tunnel, as Jez rightly pointed out.
To demolish a structure in the heart of enemy territory required significant force. While high-powered magic or long-range attacks might have worked,
“Well, I suppose there aren’t many other options…”
After briefly checking the enemy camp, Jamil glanced at Jez, who was once again stretching on his horse, with a subtle expression. With a sigh, Jamil agreed.
“So, what’s our plan?”
—
That day, the Orc King was in an exceptionally good mood. The tiresome task that had been ongoing for months was finally coming to an end.
Everything was going smoothly – the weather was fine, his body felt good, and his subordinates were working hard. Soon enough, they would be able to capture that annoying human city.
However, just as he was in a good mood, there was commotion at the edge of the camp. Dozens of humans on horseback could be seen. It seemed like their presence had been discovered.
Ordering to capture every single one of them, he relaxed, thinking it would be dealt with swiftly. After all, they had 5000 comrades here. A few dozen riders wouldn’t pose much of a threat.
But after a while, he realized that there were no reports of their elimination. Puzzled, he looked in their direction, only to see a corner of their comrades blown away.
—
Having given 10 riders as an escort to Jez and his infiltration team, Jamil, now with 70 riders left, looked at the Al-Faz’s unit with renewed determination.
“Well then, everyone, it’s time for work. This time, while Jez and his team approach the tunnel entrance for sabotage, we’ll draw the enemy’s attention. As you can see, there are thousands of enemies, including the Orc King.”
Normally, facing such overwhelming odds would be despairing, but the Al-Faz’s unit members listened to Jamil’s instructions with determined expressions.
“For this battle, the use of tactical-grade Magic Arrows is authorized. No limits on ammunition. Fire at will.”
Upon hearing Jamil’s words, the squad members chuckled lightly and smirked. It seemed like the Al-Faz’s unit would finally be able to showcase their true abilities. They had been underutilized due to the weak enemies in previous battles and Jez’s irregular actions.
“As soon as we confirm the success of Jez’s sabotage, we’ll retreat from the battlefield. Everyone, make sure not to fall behind.”
After each one prepared their weapons,
“We were overshadowed by Jez in the previous battles on the road. Let’s show our strength this time. Let’s go!!! Al-Faz’s unit, move out!!!!”
“Oorah!!!!”
—
Leading the charge, Jamil and his 70 riders stormed into the enemy’s reconnaissance range, alerting the monsters almost simultaneously with their presence.
The monster army was taken aback. They outnumbered the enemy by five thousand to less than a hundred, and they had been contemplating how to slaughter the escaping enemies.
While the monster army hesitated in their initial reaction, the Al-Faz’s unit swiftly targeted them within effective range.
“Fire!!!”
Following Jamil’s command, arrows rained down on the enemy camp. Explosions resonated continuously, far beyond the sound of mere arrows.
The monster army, initially underestimating the attack of just a few dozen cavalry, was thrown into confusion in an instant. Magic-infused arrows continued to rain down, causing explosions that turned the outskirts of the camp into scorched earth.
Unable to retaliate against the cavalry from a distance, and unable to respond to the speed of the Goblin Magicians’ magic attacks, the enemy cavalry continued to shoot arrows while galloping along the outskirts of the camp. Concerned that the confusion might spread throughout the entire army, a few Orc Generals emerged from the depths of the camp to the outskirts.
Upon seeing this, Jamil gave orders to his subordinates.
“Use Tactical-grade Magic Arrows with incantations! Support requested!”
Simultaneously, the cavalry changed formation to protect him. Jamil, a genius in mounted combat and a master archer skilled in wind magic, prayed to the wind.
“Oh wind, answer my call and lend me your strength.”
Arrows poised on horseback began to envelop in the wind.
“Become arrows that race through the sky and strike down the enemy.”
The magic-infused arrows emitted a bright, swirling light of pale green.
“Guide my will and my arrows. O spirits of the wind, now, be with me! Seventh Tier Magic, Wind Spirit Guided Arrow!!!”
With the completion of the incantation, the arrows were released. They raced through the battlefield at supersonic speed, piercing through the Orc General.
