When I was working as a civil servant, I was found out to be a muscle-brained knight by the princess knight and got sent to the front lines - Episode 26
Episode 26
The 7th Legion, upon arriving at Graysian, immediately assumes an assault formation. Seeing this, the 8th Legion prepares to launch another offensive outside the city walls.
While the 2nd Regiment prepares cavalry and chariots, the 1st and 3rd Regiments, who were taking a break, are also summoned to prepare for the all-out battle.
The offensive outside the city is the responsibility of the 2nd Regiment, while the defense of the gates and walls is assigned to the 1st and 3rd Regiments. Commander Finn Morgan of the 8th Legion is already at the walls to coordinate with the 7th Legion.
Upon confirming that Graysian’s preparations are complete, a signal flare meaning “Ready to deploy” is launched from the 8th Legion.
In the Tashman Kingdom, various signal flares and flags are used to communicate with distant allies on the battlefield. While this method is convenient, signal flares themselves are quite conspicuous and can attract enemies, limiting the information that can be conveyed.
Returning to the story, upon understanding that the 7th Legion intends to launch an offensive, Commander Finn Morgan of the 8th Legion prepares to respond and gives the signal.
In response to this signal, a signal flare is launched from the 7th Legion, and Finn remarks, “…Princess René is as fierce as ever.” The signal from the 7th Legion indicates “Using strategic-level magic.” Seeing this, Finn issues additional instructions.
“Everyone, take notice! Prepare heat-resistant barriers! Don’t make mistakes in the retreat!!”
Upon confirming the readiness of the 8th Legion, Princess René orders, “Erin, use strategic-level magic. Withdraw the troops approximately 30 minutes later.” With a smirk and a fierce smile, she gives the command. Upon hearing this, Erin communicates the use of strategic-level magic with a signal flare.
The members of the 7th Legion, with their spirits raised to the limit by the princess’ address, shout in anger as they charge at the enemy. At the same time, the gates of Graysian open, and the 8th Legion advances.
Although they were supposed to be engaged in a siege, the demon army finds itself caught in a pincer attack. Some units of the demon army collapse rapidly under the assault of the 7th Legion, but more demons gather to fill the gaps.
The number of demons surrounding Graysian approaches 100,000. With such a large number, defeating the entire army at one point does not cause the enemy to collapse.
Princess René herself, riding into the enemy ranks, dispatches demons one by one with her sword. Her elite guard, along with Erin and others, also join the fray, crushing the enemies around them.
While some parts of the demon army’s frontline seem on the verge of collapse against the onslaught of the 7th Legion, several Orc Generals rush to their aid.
One of the Orc Generals charges straight at Princess René, swinging a club with all his might, but she easily dodges his attack and channels her magic power into her sword, Flame Sovereign.
“Is that all you’ve got? How disappointing! Ahahaha!”
Ducking under the club swung by the Orc General with a thunderous roar, Princess René channels her magic power into Flame Sovereign and cleaves the Orc General in half from head to toe. “Well, that was underwhelming,” she remarks casually in the midst of the battlefield.
As another Orc General attempts to attack her from behind, she simply says, “Sorry, but could you hurry up and die?”
As a gust of wind blew, suddenly an Orc General’s head fell. The last thing the Orc General, who couldn’t even realize he had been cut, saw was the figure of a female knight wielding twin swords.
“Your Highness, please don’t let your guard down on the battlefield.”
“I know. I left it to Erin,” replied Princess René, making light of the situation while cutting down enemies left and right. Following her were Erin and the elite guard.
About 30 minutes after the 7th Legion began their assault, Flame Sovereign, the sword in Princess René’s hand, began to release magic power as if pulsating, faintly glowing red.
Upon seeing this, Princess René shouted with the biggest smile of the day, “Inform the entire army! Prepare heat-resistant barriers! We’re getting ready for strategic-level magic! Make sure no one gets in my line of fire!!”
