When I was working as a civil servant, I was found out to be a muscle-brained knight by the princess knight and got sent to the front lines - Episode 51
Episode 51
…There was no response.
Jez had sent Ramses flying with a vital point strike, but he felt no impact at all. Well, having a response against the king would be a problem in itself.
Certainly, he had disrupted the king’s posture and should have landed a perfect blow. But that was it. Jez, feeling a strong sense of unease, remained vigilant without letting his guard down.
And as expected, Ramses, who had been blown away along with the members of the Royal Guard surrounding Jez, stood up as if nothing had happened. He casually brushed off the dust from his clothes and returned to the center of the square.
The large crowd erupted in excitement once again at the sight of the king. Ramses waved his hand with an air of ease as he surveyed the scene. Then, as he gazed at Jez, his demeanor suddenly changed abruptly, as if a ferocious carnivore was targeting its prey in earnest. The atmosphere in the square seemed to crackle with tension.
Ilyas Valenkov, the commander of the Royal Guard, who was quick to notice this change, hurriedly issued instructions to the Royal Guard.
“Royal Guard, deploy anti-army barrier!”
Following Ilyas’s instructions, the Royal Guards, who had already prepared, deployed a dome-shaped barrier surrounding Ramses and Jez.
The deployed barrier was one of the highest-grade defensive magic spells that could even withstand strategic-level magic. Normally, it served as an absolute defense to protect the king. But now, it was deployed as if to confine both the king and Jez within a cage. Ramses, satisfied with the deployment of the barrier, nodded approvingly at Ilyas and then looked at Jez.
“Well, Jez Norman, don’t die now!”
With a smile on his face, Ramses delivered this ominous royal decree.
—
Though Jez had struck Ramses with a vital point strike, he felt a strong sense of unease in the impact. The source of this discomfort was…
“…That armor.”
Jez, realizing the cause of the discomfort, muttered with a cold sweat dripping down his face.
“You’ve noticed? This armor has a special property. It’s one of the secret weapons passed down through generations in our Tashman Royal Family.”
While speaking calmly to Jez, Ramses wore an expression that didn’t match the calm atmosphere at all. Furthermore, magical power condensed around the king, and a violent pressure emanated from him.
“And this armor automatically activates once it exceeds a certain level of damage… So rejoice, Jez Norman. You’ve gained the right to challenge me, the king.”
With Ramses’ words, golden light enveloped the world.
“Let the power bestowed by heaven, the will of the king, shape this reality into my ideal. Manifest my ideals and transform this world into the ideal form.”
A voice filled with overwhelming dominance resounded throughout the world.
“With the power bestowed by heaven, let this reality conform to my ideals. Let the absolute will create the order of the world and lead my kingdom to the supreme paradise.”
Witnessing the majestic and heroic figure of Ramses, filled with overwhelming vigor, the large crowd reaffirmed their belief that our Tashman Kingdom was indeed the greatest in the world.
“O power gathered in the hands of the king, spread absolute rule over this land, and realize my ideals and desires into reality.”
The shining golden light gradually converged into one.
“O utopia, bring eternal glory to my kingdom. My voice is life, my wish is destiny, my power is absolute. Show the path of the king’s hegemony in this land.”
And when that light converged on Ramses…
“My will shall determine the fate of the world. Now, transcend this reality and create the kingdom of ideals! Conceptual Armament Activate. Absolute Monarchy Arcadia.”
A particularly strong golden light was emitted, and there stood Ramses clad in golden armor, displaying the dignity of a king, standing tall.
Furthermore, around him, particles of shining magical power filled the air. Everyone understood at the sight that he was the king among kings, ruling over all.
Despite the frenzy of the surrounding crowd witnessing the flashy and overwhelming conceptual armament of the king, Jez, standing before the king, couldn’t help but think to himself, “Seriously, what am I supposed to do about this?”
Conceptual Armament, Absolute Monarchy Arcadia.
The current king, Ramses Tashman, inherited one of the most famous conceptual armaments on the continent, passed down through generations of the Tashman Kings, symbolizing the martial prowess of this nation.
Of course, Jez had heard the name and knew its effects. The effect of Absolute Monarchy Arcadia was: “No one can harm the king, and no one can evade the king’s attacks.”
In other words, it was an incredible conceptual armament that combined the strongest shield and spear. What an absurdity. Moreover, the means that might have the strength to oppose it, both his pen and official clothing, had deactivated their functions.
Furthermore, his health was not at its best. His magical circuits, activated during the previous no-sword draw and vital point strike, were throbbing terribly. It was a seriously dire situation.
Without showing any concern for Jez, Ramses continued,
“Now then, Jez Norman. I’ve heard you usually fight unarmed, right? In that case, as a king, I’ll compete with you in your area of expertise. Let’s get started, shall we?”
With those words, King Ramses took a fighting stance. Then, as if keeping a rhythm, he lightly stepped forward.
In an instant, Ramses’ figure vanished, and before Jez realized it, he had slipped into his guard.
“What?!” “Huh!!”
A left jab.
Jez managed to withstand it with a cross block, but his arm creaked from the impact.
A right body blow.
He strengthened his abs with all his might and activated his magic to endure it somehow, but his posture faltered. Realizing it was dangerous, Jez recklessly swung his fist in retaliation, but…
A sway.
There was no way such an attack would hit the current Ramses. Evading Jez’s attacks gracefully, the king used the momentum to his advantage.
A left uppercut.
With a flowing series of blows, Ramses finally caught Jez’s chin and sent the bureaucrat flying high into the air.
“…Is this the finish?”
With his fist raised high, the golden-glowing forty-something-year-old goaded defiantly. Today, the large crowd in the bustling square was particularly excited at his words, their cheers echoing throughout the capital.
Ramses Tashman. The current king of the Tashman Kingdom and a pure-blooded infighter. Here, he had just given an admonition (physical) to one of his subordinate bureaucrats. This, too, was the duty of an absolute monarch.
