When I was working as a civil servant, I was found out to be a muscle-brained knight by the princess knight and got sent to the front lines - Episode 54
Episode 54
Nevorista, the capital of the Tashman Kingdom. The grand square located in the outer part of the new city.
Normally a bustling bazaar, the grand square was now surrounded by a massive anti-army barrier. Around this barrier, tens of thousands of people had gathered.
Their gaze was fixed ahead.
The King of the Tashman Kingdom, Ramses Tashman, clad in golden armor, unfolds:
Absolute Monarchy Arcadia
Its effect: “No one can harm the king, and no one can evade the king’s attacks.”
On the opposite side stood firm, the Chief Secretary of the 7th Legion and our esteemed civilian officer, Jez Norman.
Overflowing power from his new official attire. It is:
Civilian Control – Enlightenment Leviathan – Chaos Gate
Symbolizing the concept of “battlefield control by civilians.” Furthermore, fully armored, he simultaneously deployed multiple conceptual armaments.
Pen is Mightier than Sword – Jabberwock.
Symbolizing the literal “reversal of strength.” And the power newly gained by the civilian:
Freedom of Speech – Behemoth
Gigantic gauntlets shining in both hands. The concept symbolized by his fists is “the destruction of constraints.”
Namely, securing freedom even by punching opponents into silence. This is the new conceptual armament, Freedom of Speech Behemoth.
Ramses and Jez, adorned with two opposing concepts. Behind Jez, Victor, wearing his master robe, smiles defiantly as his coat flutters.
And after a brief silence.
Jez takes the initiative amid the watching crowd. He flutters his rainbow wings on his back and, while floating gently, gathers magic into the cannon pens on both his shoulders with a high-pitched sound.
As the compressed magic sparks and becomes visibly dense, after a brief pause, a surge of light is released.
This magic approached the power of strategic-level magic used by René and Serena in the recent Southern Great Uprising.
An overwhelming surge of light. Normally, such an attack alone would be despair-inducing, but…
“Haaaah!!!” Along with King Ramses’ fierce shout, golden magic gathers in his fist. He then smashes his fist into the surge of light.
Two forces collide with a tremendous roar, mixing light and sound.
The rainbow light surge and the golden fist are evenly matched, but moments later, a massive explosion erupts. The aftermath of the explosion causes the visibility within the barrier to plummet.
Jez, who had been observing from mid-air after releasing the light surge, suddenly sees King Ramses bursting through the smoke and swinging his fist. Jez tries to dodge, but realizing that King Ramses’ fist seems drawn to his movements, he intercepts it with his gauntlet.
Thus begins King Ramses’ onslaught, but Jez manages to fend off his attacks by repeatedly blocking with his gauntlet.
Unable to dodge attacks due to the influence of King Ramses’ conceptual armament, Jez finds himself equally affecting King Ramses’s attacks, significantly reducing their power.
King Ramses attacks Jez relentlessly as he floats in mid-air. Jez retaliates whenever he sees an opening. Cannon fires. Evaded. Fires again. Evaded. Attempts a cross-counter in response to King Ramses’ approaching punch, but evaded.
Both their attacks lack a decisive blow, and they are in a state of complete stalemate. The battlefield within the anti-army barrier has already been devastated by their exchanges, turning the once grand square into complete ruin.
However, the area around Victor, who was inside the barrier, remains pristine. With his usual masterly smile, he continues to watch the battle.
Though both Jez and King Ramses inwardly wish Victor would disappear, he’s not a man to fuss over such trivial matters.
In any case, this stalemate cannot continue. Jez and King Ramses both decide almost simultaneously to unleash their ultimate techniques.
King Ramses’ golden armor shines even brighter, and even more magic flows into his right fist. Pure gold. He slowly prepares to unleash his fist.
On the other hand, Jez’s pair of rainbow wings shine brightly, and another pair of rainbow wings unfolds. The patterns on his official attire also shine brightly in response, and the cannon pens on his shoulders change direction to point towards his back like thruster packs.
The remaining magic is being gathered into the gauntlets on both hands, and Jez also slowly prepares to unleash his fist.
Now, is it finally time for the showdown?! Amidst the peak of the crowd’s excitement, Ilyas, who had deployed the anti-army barrier, and the members of the Royal Guard were extremely anxious.
In short, if attacks of that caliber collide, the aftermath alone could potentially collapse the barrier. The barrier has already been considerably depleted from the flow of shots exchanged between the two thus far.
Despite shouting to somehow stop the king, Ilyas’ voice does not reach him. Finally, as the king and Jez prepare to move, and Ilyas and the Royal Guard members break into a sweat, a moment arrives.
“Stop.”
Conceptual Armament, Bell of Justice tolls Pax Proelium
(Note:”Pax proelium” combines Latin and Latin roots. “Pax” means “peace,” and “proelium” means “battle” or “combat.” So, “pax proelium” can be interpreted as “peace in battle” or “peace during combat.”)
The solemn sound of a bell resounds throughout the capital. Along with the bell’s sound, all combat actions are forcibly halted.
Jez and King Ramses are astonished. Then, as if the sea were parting, the crowd splits, and from there emerges the Holy Order clad in pristine armor, led by Archbishop Edelmar Solennis. They protect the symbol of peace:
Saint Lucretia Alma.
It is common for a third party to intervene as arbitrators when political affairs become chaotic.
