When I was working as a civil servant, I was found out to be a muscle-brained knight by the princess knight and got sent to the front lines - Episode 55
Episode 55
The Azelion continent, where the Tashman Kingdom exists. The predominant faith in the various countries of this continent is the Divina Religion.
Located far west from the frontline Tashman Kingdom, which is the forefront nation for humanity and the easternmost end of the human survival area, lies the Divina Papal State, positioned almost at the central point of the human nations. Although it is an extremely small city-state, it is recognized as one of the major powers due to its religious authority and formidable Holy Knight Order.
The Divina Religion boasts a pseudo-bureaucratic structure with the Pope at its apex, comprising various positions such as cardinals and archbishops.
While the Papal State itself is a small nation, it has cathedrals in various countries and cities within the human nations, exerting significant political influence.
Well, in reality, it’s not much different from secular political powers in many aspects, but there is one significant difference.
That is the existence of the four saintesses.
They manifest in this world as the agents of God’s will, revered as beings capable of performing numerous miracles.
These four saintesses are not always in the Papal State. In fact, they may spend more time outside the Papal State, residing in various countries or cities depending on political situations or demonic activities. Currently, only one saintess resides in the Papal State, and the remaining three are active in various countries.
One of them is Saint Lucretia Alma. Three years ago, at the tender age of 13, she arrived in the Tashman Kingdom, and now, at the age of 16, she is the youngest saintess.
As a convention, the frontline nation for humanity, the Tashman Kingdom, always has one or more saintesses stationed there. Lucretia was dispatched as a replacement when the previous saintess returned to the Divina Papal State.
Despite her youth, she is full of talent and integrity, flawless in her behavior, truly an ideal saintess. Entrusting the most important stronghold for the Divina Religion, the frontline nation for humanity, to her is the perfect choice. …She doesn’t have any other hidden side, right? She’s just a typical saintess, right?
When this saintess was assigned to the Tashman Kingdom three years ago, one of our civil servant went to the Divina Papal State to welcome her as a member of the Tashman Kingdom’s diplomatic mission. But that’s a story for another time.
…
In the main square of the new city district in the capital, Nevorista, an extraordinary battle unfolds between the king and the civil servant.
If just one more big move had been made, the anti-army barrier would have collapsed, leading to a catastrophe, but the intervention of Saint Lucretia Alma prevented a disaster just in time.
Even if Lucretia hadn’t come, Victor had various preparations, and the Commander of the Royal Guard, Ilyas, still had several trump cards unused.
Aware of these circumstances, both Ramses and Jez were pushing their luck somewhat. However,
“Goodness gracious. What are you all doing? I heard that I was supposed to intervene at an appropriate time, but I didn’t expect you to resort to Conceptual Armament like this,” Lucretia remarks in disbelief as she helps clean up the debris-laden square following the public debate (physical) between Ramses and Jez.
Immediately after Lucretia’s intervention in the battle, Ramses, taking this as a cue, concluded the proceedings by praising Jez’s valor grandly.
Even a civil servant like Jez can display such strength by making secret efforts and utilizing cutting-edge magical tools. The Tashman Kingdom remains unshakeable. People can rest assured and go about their daily lives.
With this declaration from King Ramses, the battle between Ramses and Jez spread across the continent in no time, successfully reinforcing the existence of the Tashman Kingdom in the minds of its people and other nations.
Furthermore, due to King Ramses’ declaration, diplomats and civil servants of the Tashman Kingdom stationed at embassies in various countries began to be regarded with awe by their counterparts from other countries, but that’s another story.
Additionally, especially for diplomats, the number of occasions where they were consulted by military officers regarding military training increased significantly, leading to some troublesome situations.
After the battle, King Ramses used his personal funds to start repairing the main square. He himself, half-naked, with a towel wrapped around his head and gloves on his hands, cleared away the rubble, leveled the ground, and laid bricks again.
Despite various unexpected events and feeling somewhat embarrassed as a golden fifty-something, his genuine concern for the country and its people is undeniable. Let’s forgive him for now.
The saintess, civil servant, and even the princess who had just returned from her expedition in Kohane all pitched in to help with the cleanup and repairs as if it were the most natural thing in the world. Even in such small gestures, the essence of the frontline nation, the Tashman Kingdom, shone through.
Moreover, Saint Lucretia Alma is an active saintess who eagerly participates in inspections and consolation missions on the frontlines. She’s a healthy, sun-kissed track and field-type saintess, not one to shy away from physical labor or establishing bases. …Well, the Tashman Kingdom wouldn’t be able to maintain itself without someone like her being dispatched from the Papal State.
In any case, with the king taking the lead, the restoration of the main square was completed in just a few hours. As it was getting towards evening, King Ramses went a step further and hosted a grand celebration in the newly restored square, using more of his personal funds. Anyone, regardless of their social status, was free to join. Booze and meat were brought in from all over the capital, and a lavish feast was held.
The lingering unease in the air of the capital, stemming from the recent Southern Great Uprising, was blown away by the flashy battle between King Ramses and Jez on this day, followed by the grand festival. The Tashman Kingdom, the forefront nation for humanity and the pinnacle of the frontier, returned to its people with an unparalleled brightness that symbolized the country’s spirit.
…
Now, this might be completely irrelevant, but immediately after the battle between the king and the civil servant ended due to the saintess’ intervention, as the anti-army barrier dissipated, the most brilliant minds of the Tashman Kingdom’s premier research institution, the Academy, surrounded the eccentric alchemist.
Victor Alchemis, the prodigal son of the prestigious Alchemis family of alchemists, who had worked at the Academy for a while after graduating from the Royal Academy but resigned due to disagreements.
Colleagues and members of the Alchemis family surrounded Victor to prevent him from escaping, but with a very absurd remark, he vanished from the scene along with his laughter echoing through the square.
“Too bad. That was just an afterimage.”
And with a resounding laughter reverberating through the square,
“Jez! Be careful with that Conceptual Armament, it has a usage limit! I’m going on a journey until the heat dies down! Don’t come looking for me, okay? Hahahaahaha!!”
“…What a nuisance.”
Jez sighed in exasperation. It seemed like Victor had departed on his journey, but he had one last thing to say.
“I almost forgot! I took the fee for this Conceptual Armament from Jez’s account without permission! But don’t worry, the destination isn’t illegal, so it’s all good! Remember, no gambling, okay?! Hahaha!! Farewell!!”
Victor, even though you can see into other worlds, please refrain from delicate current affairs jokes. …Eccentric alchemists are bound by nothing and no one.
