When I was working as a civil servant, I was found out to be a muscle-brained knight by the princess knight and got sent to the front lines - Episode 109
Episode 109
“…Amazing.”
Rio Himuro could only whisper in awe at the battle unfolding before her eyes, a spectacle so far removed from reality. Monsters continued pouring out from the rift in space, and beyond the horde, a Red Dragon was advancing relentlessly.
In a normal situation, she would already be dead. In fact, the monsters would have overflowed beyond the Shinjuku Dungeon. Perhaps the entire city of Shinjuku would have been wiped out. The scale of the disaster was that extreme.
And yet, despite this hellish scene…
“Hahahahahahahahaha!!! Come on, come on! Is that all you’ve got!?”
An angel clad in azure wings danced across the battlefield, battling the crimson dragon.
Meanwhile, a man who looked like nothing more than a competent foreign businessman calmly dispatched every monster except the dragon with his massive spear.
Viewers watching the live stream that Rio had accidentally left running could hardly believe what they were seeing:
<What kind of movie shoot is this? lol>
<Is this a fake video??>
<I get the skepticism, but it’s real lol>
<Even the video analysis team says there’s no editing or alterations.>
<They’ve even issued an official alert, so yeah, it’s legit.>
<The Alchemist in a Cocoon: This is just a walk in the park.>
<Wait, who are you again? lol>
The live stream was now broadcasting this unbelievable situation to the world in real time. It had already garnered over 500,000 viewers, and the number was still climbing. Not just in Japan, but people from every corner of the globe were watching the events unfolding in this far eastern land.
René, wielding her Flame Emperor Sword, continued to freely swing her blade, delivering blow after blow, causing the azure flames to grow hotter and more intense.
It was a tactical-grade Ninth Tier Magic, Azure Flame’s Retribution, that René had used to strike down a dragon which had suddenly appeared in the capital of the Kingdom of Tashman. This magic was the counterpart to the strategic-grade Ninth Tier Magic, Flame of Judgement, which they had used during the battle at Graysian.
The magic used in Graysian was meant for area suppression, while the one used in the capital of Nevorista was designed to slay a single target. Both were extraordinarily powerful spells, but their activation required the support of Lilly’s squad. Yet now, somehow, René was using this magic alone.
The reason was simple. Like Jez, René had donned a suit, allowing her to tap into the Conceptual Armament known as When in Rome, Do as the Romans Do – Economic Animal. This weapon granted a unique benefit: with each action that aligned with the local beliefs or values, the power of the next attack would double.
In other words, after one action, her power would double, after two, quadruple, after three, it would increase eightfold, and after four, sixteenfold, increasing exponentially with each action.
This effect caused the power of René’s Flame Sovereign Sword to steadily rise, and the color of its flames shifted from red to blue. Even René herself was astonished by this transformation. The Flame Sovereign Sword was an artifact, a special type of weapon similar to a Conceptual Armament.
In fact, René and warriors like Serena from the 10th Legion employed such special swords to cast strategic-grade spells. She thought she had a good understanding of these Conceptual Armaments, but…
“This is seriously no joke.”
With every swing of the Flame Sovereign Sword, infused with her will, René felt her strength surge within her body. She was beginning to realize the immense potential of the conceptual armaments crafted by the extraordinary alchemist, Victor Alchemis.
Though she had seen Jez fight and had read the investigation reports on Victor, she had only understood the power of these weapons intellectually. But nothing compared to experiencing it firsthand.
Before her stood the blazing Red Dragon, a being of overwhelming presence and resistant to fire attacks. Normally, handling such a creature alone would be nearly impossible. Back in the capital of Nevorista, it had taken the coordinated efforts of many people to bring down the dragon.
But now, René began to think—Could I take this dragon down by myself?
As this thought crossed her mind, she continued to swing her sword and dodge the dragon’s attacks, all while evaluating her own state of mind. Could she truly defeat a dragon alone? Sure, Jez was handling all the other monsters, but was she being clear-headed about herself right now?
Even as she fought the Red Dragon, wearing a ferocious grin and laughing maniacally, deep down, she remained utterly calm and composed.
Her heart burned with passion, but her mind remained calm and collected.
“And with this, it’s certain.”
René assessed both her own condition and the state of the dragon, confident that she would emerge victorious. Alright, let’s finish this.
As Jez, who had been holding back the horde of monsters from a short distance away, observed the change in René’s demeanor, he realized something was off.
“Damn, this is bad. We need to get out of here now!”
Noticing René’s transformation, Jez quickly grabbed Rio and the others he had been protecting and immediately evacuated from the area.
As Jez’s actions registered in her mind, René increased her magical output even further.
“O azure flame, eternal fire descended from the heavens, answer the call of my soul. O ancient spirit of the dragon god, imbue me with your power and glory.”
The blue flames enveloping René began to shine even more brilliantly, growing in intensity and power. The suit she had been wearing transformed, morphing into a grand and luxurious dress befitting royalty.
“Let the Dance of the Azure Flame pierce the sky, rend the earth, and become the divine fire that purifies all. Here and now, I shall stake my life and unleash the ultimate power.”
The azure wings that had manifested on René’s back expanded dramatically, growing from two wings to six.
“In the name of the Azure Dragon Sovereign, I shall obliterate all enemies and etch my victory into eternity. O power of the Flame Emperor, grant me the flames of infinity!”
The Flame Sovereign Sword’s “Flame Sovereign” responded to René’s will, its blade growing to an enormous size.
“Now, reveal your divine might! O azure flames soaring through the heavens, purify my enemies and grant me endless victory! Strategic-grade Tenth Tier Flame Magic—Azure Dragon Sovereign!!!”
With a dazzling azure brilliance, René swung the divine blade downward.
The sword, a concentrated mass of all the heat energy in existence, slashed through both the Red Dragon and the entire Shinjuku Dungeon with a single strike.
