When I was working as a civil servant, I was found out to be a muscle-brained knight by the princess knight and got sent to the front lines - Episode 111
Episode 111
Complete Victory.
René vanquished the Red Dragon using the pinnacle of fire magic, while Jez effortlessly wiped out the rest of the monster horde. Though both were equipped with Conceptual Armaments, the fact that just the two of them achieved such results is nothing short of a complete victory.
Jez, feeling relaxed, was preparing to retreat towards the dungeon entrance while carrying René. Despite the slight collapse of the dungeon’s structure caused by René’s attack, he didn’t see it as a significant issue. But then…
“…What was that!?”
The entire dungeon pulsed as if it had a heartbeat, with the collapsed area at the center. The magical energy within the dungeon suddenly rushed toward that spot. Furthermore, the dungeon’s floor and walls that had collapsed began converting into magical particles and converging on a single point.
Dungeons themselves are created by accumulated magical energy. In a sense, it made them vast storage houses of magic. And now, all that enormous magical power was converging on the collapsed area, where the Red Dragon’s corpse had been. The particles became so dense that they visibly shimmered, swirling like a glowing wind throughout the dungeon.
<Whoa, whoa, whoa!>
<This can’t be happening…>
<Isn’t this seriously bad?>
<Anyone around Shinjuku had better start running, for real.>
<The police and the Self-Defense Force are already starting to guide people to evacuate, LOL.>
<You idiot! Stop posting comments and get out of there!>
The viewers, now understanding what was happening, watched with bated breath and were nervously sweating as the event unfolded. At this point, all they could do was observe. The emergence of the Red Dragon and the monster stampede had already been extremely rare occurrences to capture live. But now, something even rarer was about to occur: a Dungeon Break.
Dungeon Breaks had never been caught on film in Japan, and there were only a handful of instances worldwide where footage existed. This rare phenomenon was now being unleashed.
“Gyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!!”
A thunderous roar echoed not just throughout the dungeon but far beyond, reverberating across the surface around Shinjuku.
At the center of the collapsed dungeon a new entity had been born where the Red Dragon’s remains lay. It was formed from the concentration of magical energy and the remnants of the dungeon’s structure.
<Ohhhhhhh!?>
<A mythic-class creature…!?>
<Does it actually exist?>
<No way…>
<I feel like I need to bow, even though I’m just watching through a screen.>
<Is that… Yamata no Orochi!?>
(Note: Should have guessed that,huh)
What appeared was a colossal beast with eight heads and eight tails—a creature from Japanese mythology, one of the top monsters in legend: the Yamata no Orochi. Now, this mythical beast was about to unleash its destructive power.
・ ・ ・
In the upper layers of the Shinjuku Dungeon, where novice adventurers usually trained by casually battling mid-level monsters, the mythical beast was now rampaging uncontrollably and spreading destruction in every direction.
A blonde man in a suit was desperately running around with a blonde woman in a suit held in a princess carry and narrowly avoiding the chaos.
<Wooooaaaahhh!?>
<That was close!?>
<Did you see that? He dodged it by a hair’s breadth!>
The viewers’ stomachs churned in anxiety as they watched the man barely dodge each attack. Jez, still carrying René, was at a loss for what to do. The monster was certainly overwhelmingly powerful, but its attacks were crude. Perhaps because it had just been born, avoiding its strikes wasn’t impossible.
However, with René in his arms, Jez couldn’t launch any counterattacks. Unsure of his next move, Jez pondered his options when…
“…Sorry for the trouble.”
René, looking slightly dejected, apologized to Jez. It was the first time Jez had ever seen her looking downcast. As he noticed this, he replied.
“There’s nothing we can do about this situation.”
Even as he deftly avoided the oncoming attacks, Jez continued to rack his brain for a way out of this mess. That’s when René, still cradled in his arms, made a firm decision.
“We can’t keep going like this. I’ll use *that*.”
With a determined expression, René operated her smartphone to materialize something. Realizing what she was about to do, Jez panicked and tried to stop her, but it was too late.
Her phone flashed brightly, and in her hand appeared a bottle with a yellow-and-black label: Re: Gain.
This was one of the trump cards that an alchemist had prepared, alongside the famed Seven-Bull. Before Jez could stop her, René downed half of the bottle and forcibly pushed the remaining half against Jez’s lips.
At this point, René’s hesitation to force-feed Jez shows her lack of resolve. If Lily had seen this, she would have been stamping her feet in frustration.
As they moved, Jez was suddenly handed the bottle. He was clearly aware of the danger but still drank its contents. And then…
The magical energy surged out from both their bodies. This overflow of magic enveloped their suits, causing them to shine even more brightly. René, still being carried by Jez, nimbly leapt down and took her place on the battlefield once again. She deflected enemy attacks with the Flame Sovereign Sword still sheathed.
The sense of power was overwhelming. With their enhanced abilities, René and Jez felt as if they could fight for 24 hours straight. Having each drunk half of the Re:Gain potion, the two were now the epitome of battle-hardened corporate warriors. They could likely endure any intense work situation with their current strength.
Avoiding and countering the Yamata no Orochi’s attacks, René and Jez brandished the Sovereign Emperor Sword and the Great Spear (Pen) against the mythical beast.
・ ・ ・
After about 11 hours of continuous fierce battle between the Yamata no Orochi and the two corporate warriors, the situation was such that even the viewers were feeling physically drained. Despite this, Jez and René continued to handle the relentless onslaught from their foe.
The upper layers of the Shinjuku Dungeon had been ravaged to the point where its original state was unrecognizable, with parts of the ceiling even collapsed, revealing the sky above. The Yamata no Orochi lived up to its legendary name, unleashing all kinds of magical attacks and using its physical form to deliver powerful blows.
However, the two corporate warriors, having drunk Re:Gain, had the strength and skill to fight continuously for 24 hours. This battle had the tension of working through a crucial deadline at the end of the fiscal year—the kind of stress that came from being just short of sales targets. To overcome it, they had to use every means at their disposal.
Jez and René unleashed every attack they could think of against the Yamata no Orochi. René wielded the Flame Sovereign Sword, while Jez thrust with the Great Spear. But even this wasn’t enough. What more could they do?
Just as their strength was nearing exhaustion, their previously awkward teamwork finally synchronized perfectly. Both René and Jez had rarely needed to work as a team due to their individual power. While René had received ample support from the Lilly Squad, it was more about them adapting to René’s style rather than her adapting to theirs. Jez, on the other hand, was a complete solo player.
Yet, after 11 hours of non-stop fighting, their coordination started to fall into place. This was the critical moment. They could now intuitively understand each other’s movements. Confirming their positions with a glance, they nodded in mutual understanding.
“”O Gods of Heaven, bestow upon us infinite power. Ancient prosperity, false brilliance, now meet your end.””
Together, Jez and René charged at the Yamata no Orochi, their voices perfectly in sync.
“”Principle of Destruction, in our hands. By the divine sword bestowed by the heavens, grant us its spiritual power. May our souls transform into eternal flames, drawing forth immortal strength.””
Their respective weapons gleamed brighter and transformed into great swords.
“”O Eight-headed Dragon, receive the judgment of the ancient gods. The principles of destruction and the divine might of the sacred sword now merge, unleashing the blade of judgment!””
Jez and René, wielding their shining great swords, struck simultaneously at the Yamata no Orochi.
Wearing their Conceptual Armor and having consumed the special potion Re:Gain, the technique they unleashed was named:
“Show the works of the gods, and annihilate our enemies. Connect the principles of heaven and earth, and carry out the eternal battle! Conceptual Armor Fusion Secret Art: Bubble Burst – Kusanagi no Tsurugi!!!!”
A dazzling neon aurora reminiscent of the bubble era filled the land of Shinjuku. And with a deafening roar, all light was extinguished.
