When I was working as a civil servant, I was found out to be a muscle-brained knight by the princess knight and got sent to the front lines - Episode 115
Episode 115
“Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!! Over here, over here, I’m this way!!!”
“Dammitttttttttttttttttttttttttttt!!!”
Victor, the alchemist now known as “the one behind,” was running for his life through the ancient ruins. He had turned the tables by taunting the demons from behind.Â
It had been over 30 minutes since he began his escape. The demons, including those stationed to keep an eye on Victor, numbered twelve in total. They had all emerged in a flurry once they realized Victor had escaped.
However, a few questions arise:
Why was Victor able to run for 30 minutes? And why did he deliberately taunt the enemy instead of sneaking away quietly?
From his previous actions, Victor Alchemus is often mistaken for just a harmless trickster. His behavior, such as playfully tapping the demons on the shoulder or adopting silly speech patterns in the Earth world, seems like the result of a playful spirit.
Indeed, when Jez, Erin, and Miriam first met Victor during their time at the Royal Academy, they thought he was merely a crazy prankster.
However, as time goes on, it becomes evident that Victor is not just a prankster. The more you interact with him, the more you realize that his seemingly frivolous actions are often calculated. When you recognize this, you understand the true extent of Victor’s eccentricity.
In this case, Victor’s reluctance to escape immediately and his decision to provoke the demons were part of his strategy to assess the enemy’s strength. If he were captured by the enemy, he might not see the whole picture and could find it difficult to gauge when it would be safe to escape.
To avoid this, Victor deliberately provoked the enemy while he still had the energy, drawing them out. After 30 minutes of evasion, the enemy forces had been reduced to twelve. No new enemies had appeared for over ten minutes, and there were no signs of reinforcements or messengers.
Given the situation, it was safe to assume that only twelve enemies were nearby. Additionally, after 30 minutes of running, Victor confirmed that the demons seemed very reluctant to attack the ancient ruins.
If the demons were genuinely intent on capturing him, they would have used various spells. However, whenever Victor was near the ruins’ structures, the pressure from the enemy visibly decreased.
Even the dullest of observers would notice this—namely, that the demons were highly conscious of the ruins. Considering the unusual circumstances of their encounter, there must be a reason for this.
In any case, Victor had successfully gathered precise information about the enemy’s strength and their weaknesses within these 30 minutes. By skillfully using the ancient ruins, he managed to stay one step ahead.
From the outside, it might seem like a mere game of tag. But now, he had gathered enough information. He was getting tired of the game and was ready to wrap things up.
“Ha ha ha ha ha ha!!! Demons, what’s the matter? I’m over here!”
“Damn it! What the hell is this guy?!”
Victor continued to mock the demons with a cheerful smile as he darted around the ancient ruins, lightly sweating.Â
And finally:
“Well, my body is warmed up, so let’s get to it.”
He muttered softly while placing his hand on the left lens of his glasses.
“Perception – Ujat’s Eye.”
Victor’s magical power infused into his glasses, causing all the information in his field of view to flood into his mind, like a literal deluge of information.Â
For an ordinary person, the sheer density of information would be overwhelming. But Victor absorbed it all, recalibrating his understanding of the world with his intellect.
With this, Victor had completely grasped the movements and abilities of all twelve demons.Â
This alone would be enough. But the eccentric alchemist wasn’t finished yet. As he continued to channel magic into the right lens of his glasses, he prepared for the next step.
“Possibility – Ra’s Eye.”
Based on the image of the world captured by Perception – Ujat’s Eye, this ability allowed him to predict the future movements of specific targets.Â
It was the power to see all possibilities—this was Possibility – Ra’s Eye.
By activating these two abilities simultaneously, Victor was able to predict the next developments in all the world’s events.Â
First, he perceives. This is both the foundation and the pinnacle of alchemy. Everything begins with perception.
But it’s not just seeing. That alone is meaningless. Simply reflecting the world in one’s eyes will not reveal the truth of the world. One must truly perceive.
Uncover the essence of things. See into the future. Understand the myriad phenomena.
This allows one to comprehend the present world and predict the future moments ahead.
With Perception, he perceives the world, and with Possibility, he calculates all the potential outcomes.
Pseudo-Divine Artifact: Perception / Possibility Horus’ Eye
This is the true power of the glasses Victor Alchemus created. By unleashing these two powers, Victor evaded all attacks and restraints from the demons,Â
“Ha!”
With determination, he delivered powerful hooks to each demon’s jaw, causing them to stagger and fall one by one.
No attack, no spell, no martial technique could elude Victor’s perception.
Yes. One who perceives everything and sees all possibilities can fix the world and determine its outcome. Observation is the world.
This is the ability of Perception / Possibility Horus’ Eye. And the magical power of words that applies the concept of fixing the world.
“Perception – Ujat’s Eye and Possibility – Ra’s Eye. Combining the initials, it becomes Pe-Po. Pepo.”
Muttering this ridiculous line, the eccentric alchemist cut down the last demon’s consciousness.
