When I was working as a civil servant, I was found out to be a muscle-brained knight by the princess knight and got sent to the front lines - Episode 117
Episode 117
Divine Artifacts.
These are the highest-class artifacts in the world, said to have been left behind by the gods. They are a different category from Conceptual Armaments, although they are often confused because both are frequently found in ancient ruins. Their origins and nature are fundamentally different.
As previously mentioned, divine artifacts are magical tools supposedly created by the gods. Their power is overwhelming, and they are not something humans can fully utilize. On the other hand, Conceptual Armaments are also extremely powerful magical tools, but they are typically deployed in real-world military operations. In the Tashman Kingdom, several army commanders possess Conceptual Armaments. There are also a few in the royal family. Similar famous Conceptual Armaments exist in other countries such as the Divina Papal State.
Conceptual Armaments are magical tools created based on specific concepts like strong desires, ideologies, customs, or histories. Nowadays, very few alchemists or magical tool craftsmen can create Conceptual Armaments. But a few famous alchemists did create a certain number of them during the peak of magical tool craftsmanship several hundred years ago.
In terms of danger, Conceptual Armaments can be compared to aircraft carriers, while divine artifacts are akin to nuclear weapons. Both are extremely powerful and difficult to create. The difference is that aircraft carriers are regularly used in combat, while nuclear weapons serve as a deterrent due to their very existence. Divine artifacts are positioned similarly to nuclear weapons, capable of influencing the world itself.
Only a few divine artifacts exist across the Azelion continent, including the Tashman Kingdom and the Divina Papal State. Due to their immense impact, they are classified as forbidden. Treaties between countries prohibit their proliferation and use.
Given that Victor used a divine-class artifact, it’s no surprise that Miriam from the Academy felt disheartened. Could this lead to international issues? It seems that Victor might have even recreated such a divine artifact himself. If an existing divine artifact had been stolen, it would have been a far bigger issue. The absence of such an artifact suggests that Victor either found or created a new one.
Even if a new divine artifact was found, it may not serve the intended purpose. Considering all this, it’s likely that Victor created something akin to a pseudo-divine artifact. Since treaties do not specifically address pseudo-divine artifacts, Victor’s actions might not lead to an international crisis.
In any case, Victor has stepped into the realm of divine alchemists, approaching the level of the first head of the Alchemis House. The Academy had previously considered divine legends to be mostly fictional, but the existence of someone who can create pseudo-divine artifacts would change that perspective dramatically. Miriam, unable to gauge how big the situation might become, decided to stop thinking about it and sighed.
That idiot. First, I’ll give him a good beating. Then I’ll think about it.
This straightforwardness is typical of Miriam Stonewell, a prodigy from the Academy and Victor Alchemis’ classmate from her student days.

While Miriam and the Academy members were grappling with the news of Victor using a divine-class artifact, Erin and Lilly were busy preparing for their expedition to the ancient ruins.
The journey from the Eastern Front fortress city of Novalis, where Erin’s group was staying, to the target point would take about three days if they pushed hard. A safer route would take around a week. Erin wanted to advance quickly to ensure they could find and secure Victor rather than just kill him. However, the area ahead was uncharted territory for humanity.
Rushing into an unknown area with insufficient equipment, preparation, or forces would likely lead to disastrous results. Moreover, the once calm Eastern Front area had recently become tense. The 5th and 6th Legion stationed in Novalis and Voltia had heightened their alertness, wondering if the next conflict would shift to the Eastern Front after the Northern and Southern Fronts.
With around 200 troops, Erin had to suppress her eagerness and carefully consider the risks of a week-long expedition. She decided to first gather information from local adventurers and coordinate with the 5th Legion.
Erin and her group of 208 arrived in Novalis the night before and had rested at the 5th Legion’s base. They had already greeted the 5th Legion Commander, Raja Raj, the previous evening. Since Saint Lucretia Alma and Archbishop Edelmar Solennis were accompanying Erin’s group, their visit was officially a frontline inspection and a morale-boosting event for the troops. This is why the Legion Commander personally came to welcome them. In the afternoon, Lucretia and her group were scheduled to visit and boost the morale of each unit.
Meanwhile, Erin was preparing with a serious expression. She planned to discuss a few more details with Commander Raja Raj.
