When I was working as a civil servant, I was found out to be a muscle-brained knight by the princess knight and got sent to the front lines - Episode 120
Episode 120
The official broadcast of the Dungeon Research Institute’s (DanKen) channel had finally begun. Given the high anticipation due to prior announcements, within just 10 minutes, the number of viewers had already surpassed 300,000. Jez and René observed this rapid growth and realized once again just how much attention they were attracting.
The first 10 minutes of the broadcast were filled with serious discussions: an explanation of past events from the host, Misaki, followed by an official statement from the Prime Minister, Takajo. Misaki also briefly introduced Jez and René, but it was kept light—given the gravity of the Okutama and Shinjuku Dungeon incidents, the Dungeon Bureau and the government were handling everything cautiously.
Behind the scenes, Misaki’s secretary, Alpha, and the public relations staff from the Dungeon Bureau were analyzing comments and social media posts in real time. If the comments turned negative or if viewers demanded more serious content, they planned to adjust the tone of the broadcast accordingly and wrap it up sooner. However, if the comments remained positive and showed a desire for more in-depth content, they would let Misaki’s intellectual curiosity as a researcher guide the broadcast and turn it into a form of entertainment.
This approach had been planned out before the broadcast. Since Jez and René were fine with either scenario, they had left the decision-making to the Dungeon Bureau and the Japanese government.
As the first 10 minutes were coming to an end, most of the serious announcements had been made. The comments and social media posts remained relatively friendly. There were some critical and extreme posts, but nothing that affected the overall trend. Secretary Alpha and the PR team relayed this information to Prime Minister Takajo, who simply responded, “I’ll take responsibility. Let Misaki do as he pleases.”
The Tashman Kingdom might have been a remarkable nation, but Japan, which coexisted with dungeons, was proving to be quite a fascinating place as well.
In the studio, Alpha passed a note to Misaki indicating the Prime Minister’s approval. Seeing it, Misaki grinned and nodded.
<Huh?>
<Did Misaki just smile, lol?>
<That’s the evil grin I’ve seen somewhere before!>
<Did they get a note?>
<Now I’m excited!>
The comments section buzzed as Misaki’s unexpected smile caused a stir. Jez and René, who also saw the note, nodded along.
“Ah, sorry. I just received a note saying that everything’s been given the go-ahead.”
<Is it safe to let this guy do whatever he wants?>
<The serious part is over now, lol.>
<Here comes the real deal, lol.>
<I’ve been waiting for this!>
<Misaki doesn’t know how to hold back, lol.>
Sensing what was coming, the audience began to get excited. The serious discussions were important, of course. The dragons and mythical creatures were certainly unsettling topics, but Misaki was there, along with the Dungeon Bureau and the government. People trusted them. They had built up enough credibility over time for viewers to believe that, no matter what, they would handle the situation. They would protect everyone.
Watching this unfold, René found herself intrigued. From the perspective of a ruler, she had to revise her assessment of the local government’s ability to build a strong relationship with its people. Even if an unexpected crisis arose, and even if the Tashman Kingdom were to end up in a conflict with Japan, the sheer difference in military power and quality would ensure the Kingdom’s victory. However, René thought it would not be wise to underestimate them. Meanwhile, Jez was privately amazed, thinking, “Does a country really change this much when dungeons appear? The Prime Minister seems far too ready for anything.”
While Jez and René were deep in thought, the broadcast continued. Now that he had Takajo’s approval, Misaki dived into an enthusiastic explanation of the various anomalies detected by the measuring devices during the Okutama and Shinjuku Dungeon incidents, as if he were a fish released into water.
“And so, to summarize, we might be on the verge of discoveries that could completely rewrite the current concepts of dungeon research. It’s truly a historic breakthrough.”
<Sorry, that’s too complicated.>
<Can you summarize that in three sentences?>
<Lol, you guys.>
<Basically, Misaki is super excited because something unexpected happened.>
<That’s terrifying, lol.>
Misaki Kō, a dungeon researcher and a top-tier deep explorer. He is one of the most knowledgeable people about dungeons in this world. Now, he’s so excited about something that it might be the discovery of the century. It’s the kind of thing you’re curious about, even if you’re not sure you want to know. There’s also that thrill of wanting to know just for the excitement.
The comment section starts to buzz, as if heated by Misaki’s enthusiasm. Then, with a smug expression, he declares:
“So, here’s the thing—dungeons might be connected to other worlds.”
<Huh?>
<Huh??>
<Huhhh???>
<Your brain is in another world.>
<Yeah, yeah, sure.>
The listeners, shocked by Misaki’s utterly outlandish statement, try to brush it off with a “Yeah, right.” But the famous dungeon researchers from around the world, who had been watching his stream, looked at the data Misaki presented and started posting on social media, “This might actually be possible.”
The murmurs from the expert community sparked widespread curiosity among the general public, who saw their serious reactions.
<Wait, is this for real?>
<Even researchers overseas are freaking out, lol.>
<Looks like a serious debate has started.>
<This might really be the discovery of the century, lol.>
<The alchemist in a cocoon: ‘Welcome to the new world.’ … Hey, wait a sec! That’s not okay!>
Seeing the world reacting just as he hoped, Misaki grins mischievously and adds more fuel to the fire.
“So, why don’t we hear from some people who actually came from another world? Here we have the Wist couple, who were apparently transported to Earth from another world by accident.”
<For real?>
<No way, lol.>
<Oh.>
<Are you serious, lol.>
<People from another world, lol.>
