When I was working as a civil servant, I was found out to be a muscle-brained knight by the princess knight and got sent to the front lines - Episode 131
Episode 131
“I’ll give you credit for sitting there properly on your own.”
In the easternmost fortress city of Novalis in the Tashman Kingdom, and further east into the unexplored regions of the world. In the midst of the ancient ruins—
After things had settled down, Victor picked up the rope that Jamil and the others had used to rescue Erin and Jez from the dimensional corridor.
With the rope in hand, Victor spun around and became a self-made bundle of rope. Nearby, Miriam stood silently with her arms crossed, her face expressionless. Victor, still wrapped in the rope, approached her and quietly sat down in seiza.
It was only after five minutes of silence that Miriam finally spoke.
Victor would have liked to run away too. Jez and Princess René were saved, the dimensional gate was closed, and the ancient ruins had ceased functioning. It was the best outcome he could imagine.
Wasn’t it actually not my fault this time?
However, there was no more magic power left. That was to be expected. After using a pseudo-divine artifact, conceptual armament, and finally, a world-class unique magic with the explorer from Earth, he was drained.
If anything, he wanted to be praised for having done so much. But reality was harsh.
After saving Jez and Princess René and closing the gate, the remaining enemy forces nearby were wiped out by the units led by the Saint and Erin. Most of the demon forces seemed to have been absorbed into the gate as magic power, but those that remained quickly retreated east. There were many concerns about them, but tracking them down wasn’t practical under the current circumstances.
Once the area was secured, everyone rejoiced at the safety of Princess René and Jez. Victor, approaching Jez, high-fived him to celebrate their safety. Jez also expressed his gratitude.
Amidst the cheerful atmosphere, Jez looked behind Victor and exclaimed.
“Oh no!”
“Hey, after such a long time, isn’t that reaction a bit harsh?”
The owner of the voice was complaining to Jez. But the moment Victor heard it, he reflexively tried to run away.
“You know, if you run away now, it’ll be much worse later?”
Miriam’s devilish whisper reached his ears. Victor quickly calculated everything—his current state of magic power, the events that had just transpired, and what was to come—using his excellent mind.
Victor picked up the rope that had fallen nearby.

As Victor was being reprimanded by Miriam, Jez took a deep breath. He was relieved to be back in the familiar world.
Around him, people continued to busily clean up weapons and inspect items left behind by the demons. The Archbishop and the Holy Knights were leading the effort.
Princess René had been surrounded by the crying Lilly, who was clinging to her and occasionally casting pleading looks for help. Jez pretended not to notice.
Honestly, it was surprising to see Lilly express such strong emotions. It turned out that in this world, over a month had passed since Jez and the others went missing.
Jez had felt as though it had only been a brief two-week trip, but it seemed there had been a discrepancy in the flow of time. In that sense, it was fortunate that they had returned relatively quickly.
“Here, coffee. Drink up.”
As Jez leaned against the wall, exhausted and blankly watching his surroundings, Jamil handed him a warm cup of coffee. It seemed that Jamil had finished giving instructions to the Al-Faz squad and brought the warm drink prepared by the Saint.
“Thanks, I’ll take it. …And really, thanks for everything. You truly helped us.”
“Don’t mention it. Anyone would do the same. I’m just glad you’re safe.”
Jamil grinned as he replied. They chatted about recent events while sipping their coffee. Hearing each other’s stories made them both realize how tough things had been.
When Jez’s coffee was almost finished, Jamil seemed a bit fidgety.
“Seems like you and Lady Saylor had quite a hot time, huh?”
Jamil usually showed no interest in such matters, had asked an unexpectedly personal question. It caused Jez to choke.
“Sorry, sorry,”
Jamil said with a smirk, patting Jez on the back.
But then—
“That story, could you please tell me about it too?”
With a sweet smile, Lucretia Alma appeared. Naturally, Jamil quickly made his exit.

After saving Princess René and Jez and ensuring the safety of the area, Erin embraced Princess René tightly, sharing their relief.
She then left Edelmar and Jamil in charge of the area’s security and took a small group with her to check on the 5th Legion.
Upon reaching a slightly elevated building within the ancient ruins and looking out over the plains, Erin saw the aftermath of a decisive battle. The 5th Legion, with its 3,000 troops, had faced off against a 50,000-strong army of demons. Despite the significant numerical disadvantage, the 5th Legion had apparently suffered little to no damage. The effectiveness of Prince Leo’s right-hand man was evident.
Later, Erin would learn that the 50,000 demon army had begun behaving erratically around the same time the dimensional gate opened. It caused their coordination to break down. Raja Raj, who had been minimizing casualties, saw this as an opportunity to launch a decisive attack and pushed forward.
In any case, the 5th Legion was intact. Erin has achieved her objectives with minimal losses. She signaled with a flare to let the 5th Legion know the situation was secure and that they could rest for a while.
Now, having managed to maintain a semblance of calm, Erin was beginning to relax. Earlier, she had been overwhelmed by emotions and had acted impulsively towards Jez.
Even she was surprised by the intensity of her feelings. She hadn’t realized such passion was within her. …Well, it couldn’t be helped.
Reflecting on it, Jez had always disrupted her pace since their first meeting. And he always seemed so carefree, making it even more frustrating. Erin remembered how unsettled she was during her time at the Royal Academy. With a sigh, she headed back to everyone.

When Erin returned, she found Lucretia and Princess René confronting Jez, while Lilly and Jamil were grinning from a short distance away. Edelmar watched the scene with a warm smile. A bit farther away, Miriam was speaking sternly to Victor. He was still wrapped up in ropes and sitting in seiza.
In the midst of this chaotic scene, Erin took a deep breath. She was determined to face it head-on. She walked briskly across the square, approaching Jez directly.
The people around noticed Erin’s approach and watched with interest. The gaze and atmosphere suggested they were likely curious about what Erin had just done with Jez.
Ignoring Princess René and Lucretia, Erin marched up to Jez. As usual, Jez had a troubled, almost pitiful expression in such situations. And today was no different.
Maintaining a voice loud enough for everyone to hear, Erin spoke to Jez.
“Jez, let’s get married.”
