When I was working as a civil servant, I was found out to be a muscle-brained knight by the princess knight and got sent to the front lines - Episode 202
Episode 202
Hundreds of peace warriors were successively launched from the massive alabaster ships soaring through the sky, heading towards the ground. Thanks to the efforts of the Niemi squad and Halvorsen squad, a base for the assault landing was swiftly constructed within the enemy lines.
The sudden airborne assault by the Northern Front veterans was indeed powerful, rendering a significant number of holy knights incapable of combat. However, the Holy Levia Knights, led by Archbishop Lucius Agrippa, boasted a formidable force of nearly ten thousand—equivalent to two full Legions in the Kingdom of Tashman.
As strong as the Niemi and Halvorsen squads were, sheer numbers held undeniable power. At this rate, they would be overwhelmed.
“Well then, is it finally our turn?”
Taking advantage of the holy knights’ distraction by the brutes being shot from the sky, Jamil Al-Faz’s Al-Faz unit, a hundred-strong team of magic bike riders, began their aerial descent from the Ark Mandjet/Mesektet. Jamil Al-Faz, commander of the Al-Faz Unit, was accompanied by his second-in-command Fatima Kazumi, third seat Karim Najim, and fourth seat Tho Merchant. The hundred riders weaved through the chaotic battlefield with ease.
Together with Jez Norman, Jamil had traversed the Southern Great Uprising from its earliest days, emerging with a miraculous zero casualties. His unit was one of the strongest hundred-man teams on the Southern Front. Though Jamil often told his subordinates not to mimic the Northern Front soldiers, to those from the North and East, the Al-Faz unit’s mobility and survival rate seemed just as insane.
Yet, Jamil himself was unaware of how others perceived his unit. Having always fought alongside the extraordinary Jez Norman, he never imagined they, too, were garnering attention.
At an altitude of about 1,000 meters, Jamil and his men leaped from the ship with their bikes, firing their magic crossbows as they descended. The holy knights, who finally noticed them, responded with anti-air fire. But the Al-Faz unit deflected it with magical barriers. Supported by covering fire from the Ark Mandjet/Mesektet, they continued their descent.
At the last moment, when they reached about 100 meters, they deployed their parachutes. When they dropped below 10 meters, they cut the parachutes, revving their bike engines and landing stylishly at the landing point prepared by the Niemi and Halvorsen squads.
“I thought for sure they’d tell us to jump without parachutes,”
Muttered May Carter, the youngest member of the Al-Faz unit. She was relieved to have made it through the anti-air fire safely. Jamil, exasperated, gave her a stern reminder.
“I’ve told you repeatedly, don’t imitate the Northerners!”
Jamil was determined to make sure that no one in his unit believed the Northern warriors’ methods were normal, especially for the younger members. Their ways were extreme. And this, here, was normal.
After quickly checking their weapons and bikes, Jamil issued a command to the Al-Faz unit.
“Al-Faz unit! Let’s move! Let’s show them the strength of the Southern Front!”
The unit responded with vigor, revving their magic bike engines to full throttle as they surged past the Niemi and Halvorsen squads. They charged directly into the enemy ranks.
At the head of the pack was Jamil Al-Faz. Riding faster and more skillfully than anyone, he seemed one with his bike, like a centaur galloping through the battlefield. He opened the throttle fully, lifting the front wheel and charging into the enemy. The front tire smashed into a nearby holy knight’s face, sending him flying.
Using the momentum, he dropped the front wheel and brought the bike to a sudden stop in front of another holy knight, raising the rear wheel and spinning the bike in a quick, forceful motion—Jackknife Turn.
The knights were thrown aside by the force of the rear wheel. However, as the spin slowed, another holy knight swung a sword at Jamil. He dodged by laying his bike down flat on the ground and immediately revved the engine again to upright the bike—Acceleration Turn.
Maintaining the momentum, Jamil kicked a nearby knight off his bike while gripping the handlebars. And without missing a beat, he returned to his seat, revved the engine again, and continued speeding through the battlefield. As he approached a knight from behind, he released his grip on the handlebars, spun his body around on the seat, and aimed his crossbow at his pursuers—Backride.
He shot through the shoulders and legs of the approaching holy knights. Then, using the momentum, Jamil flipped himself upside down. He balanced on one hand on the seat of his bike while firing his crossbow wildly. After returning to his original position, he noticed a group of holy knights forming a tight formation to counter the rampaging Al-Faz unit. If they didn’t act quickly, they’d be surrounded and unable to move.
The members of the Al-Faz unit, who were speeding right behind Jamil, briefly held their breath.
“If you have a soul, then answer me!!!”
He muttered the line that Victor had often begged him to say before pulling off any big trick during their magic bike training. Jamil had no idea why Victor was so attached to this phrase, though he had to admit it sounded pretty cool.
In any case, Jamil accelerated even more, charging straight into the tightly grouped holy knights. Using a slight bump in the terrain, he launched himself into the air.
720° Front Flip
While soaring above the heads of the holy knights, Jamil spun his bike both vertically and horizontally. He fired his crossbow in all directions as he rotated. He landed smoothly, revved the engine again, and sped off.
“…As expected of Jamil. Guess it’s worth trying to say stuff like that once in a while. That move was pure crazy precision. Seriously though, who knew a bike could even do that?”
Victor watched Jamil’s god-like, insane maneuvers from the sky. He muttered to himself with great interest.
Unaware that even Victor was calling him a maniac, Jamil and the Al-Faz unit’s magic bike team continued to leap through the battlefield as if gravity had completely let them go.
