When My Rival Actress Becomes My Obsessive Lover - Chapter 2
When Sheng Mingluo woke up again, she was no longer in the hotel. Stretching out her hand, she groped around the bed but still couldn’t find her phone.
But this bed was absurdly large—comfortable and soft. Stranger still, she seemed to have touched something warm.
Her fingers ventured further, sliding over something smooth.
The texture was delicate and silky. This… this damn thing felt like someone’s collarbone! Sheng Mingluo was instantly terrified. She opened her eyes and saw a beautiful woman lying right in front of her, covered by the blanket, with slightly curled black hair and closed eyes.
This… this this this! Isn’t this Qin Zhi? How could she be in my bed?
Damn it, was she still dreaming? It must be because of all those steamy novels she read yesterday—now her mind was full of that stuff, even in her dreams!
Strongly condemnable!
She pinched her own arm hard, tears welling up from the pain, and couldn’t help but let out a soft hiss.
How… how could this be real?
Fine, one more pinch!
The pain struck again, and Sheng Mingluo was nearly driven to despair. The decor wasn’t from the hotel she’d fallen asleep in either. When had she been kidnapped and brought here?
This was beyond absurd, okay?
Her fair arm was now red and swollen from the pinching, and only then did she realize her whole body ached as if she’d been run over by a truck.
And she felt sticky all over.
Her hand slid downward… Damn it! She really wasn’t wearing anything.
“Greetings, esteemed Host! Welcome to the Fandom CP Wish-Fulfillment System. I am Machine No. 48!”
“Delighted to serve you—welcome to Chapter 1 of ‘My Crazy Rival Falls Madly in Love with Me’!”
A mechanical, programmed voice suddenly buzzed in her ears, startling Sheng Mingluo so badly she almost had a stress reaction, clapping her hands over her ears.
“This is a dream, this is a dream, this is a dream!”
“Apologies, esteemed Host, but this is not a dream. Your CP fans have long suffered from your lack of sweetness! They made a wish! Complete all storylines to return to the real world~”
The voice not only didn’t fade but grew louder.
Furious, Sheng Mingluo retorted inwardly.
“Bro, are you kidding me? We’re just some random, obscure CP—who the hell even ships this? Who? Why drag me into this?!”
“Darling~ This is your CP fans’ resentment, nothing to do with me. Please don’t take it out on the system~”
Sheng Mingluo gritted her teeth in frustration, but just then, the person beside her opened her eyes. Qin Zhi’s gaze locked directly onto her, making Sheng Mingluo swallow hard in fear.
“She… she can’t actually be Qin Zhi, right?”
“That, I don’t know, Host. This is a world written by your CP fans. This system merely follows protocol to supervise and prevent slacking!”
Sheng Mingluo didn’t hear another word the system said after that. Instinctively, she tugged the white blanket over herself and shrank back.
She and Qin Zhi weren’t exactly strangers—at most, they were colleagues from the same company. Though they crossed paths often, they weren’t particularly close, and once Qin Zhi got busy, she often didn’t return to the company for months.
“Stop pulling…”
A cold, indifferent voice rang out—still that familiar tone. Qin Zhi grabbed the blanket that was about to be yanked away from her chest and glared icily at Sheng Mingluo.
“Oh, oh, okay.”
Extremely embarrassed, Sheng Mingluo released her tight grip on the blanket and couldn’t help but glance at Qin Zhi’s state. Was this person also… not wearing anything under there?
But the next second, Qin Zhi threw off the blanket and stood up. Her dark lashes lowered slightly, her smooth back and shoulder blades like delicate porcelain. Sheng Mingluo’s face instantly flushed red, and she immediately buried her head under the covers.
Don’t look at what shouldn’t be seen, don’t look at what shouldn’t be seen.
Still… her figure really does seem quite nice… Sheng Mingluo’s thoughts couldn’t help but wander again.
Qin Zhi turned her back, picked up the clothes scattered on the floor, and tossed them into the laundry basket in the bathroom. With a resigned sigh, she turned on the shower, planning to wash off the sticky discomfort clinging to her skin.
Her mind kept replaying the words that system had just said.
CP, fanfiction…
What even were these things?
The hot water hitting her body brought some clarity to her drowsy mind, steam quickly filling the bathroom. Sheng Mingluo watched the hazy silhouette through the fogged glass, her heart pounding uncontrollably, her entire body trembling. She lightly slapped her own cheek to snap out of those indecent thoughts.
She seemed to recall fragments of what happened last night… The lines and scenarios were exactly the same as that fanfiction she’d read yesterday!
Wait, what had that system just said?
“The Crazy Rival Falls Madly in Love With Me!?”
Her hands shook slightly as she picked up her phone and checked the date. It really was the same as in the fanfiction—June 2023.
Pulling the blanket aside, she nearly fainted at what she saw. Her neck and collarbone were covered in dense hickeys. Thinking back carefully, Qin Zhi had them too. This was terrifying! What kind of things were CP fans imagining?!
Sheng Mingluo frantically scrolled through her phone. Thankfully, the author’s setting was just a parallel world without anything too outrageous. Otherwise, she wouldn’t dare imagine if Qin Zhi had something like… pheromones or whatever.
Struggling to get out of bed, Sheng Mingluo winced at the soreness all over her body, her legs so weak they might as well be jelly. Trembling, she crouched down to pick up her clothes, only to stare in dismay at the torn shirt—the fabric shredded, clearly ripped apart by force, with smudged lipstick stains all over it.
Damn it!
She really wanted to curse. Author, if you have the guts, show yourself! See if I don’t chop you into pieces and feed you to the dogs!
After gathering her clothes, Sheng Mingluo was too defeated to speak. Even if the shirt hadn’t been torn, wearing it would’ve been no different from wearing nothing at all…
Someone, please save her. She had never felt so utterly hopeless in her life.
She couldn’t just wander around naked. With no other choice, Sheng Mingluo wrapped the blanket around herself and sat on the bed, nowhere to go. She wanted to run, but without clothes, how could she even step out the door?
Biting her finger, she considered calling for help on her phone—but then she glanced down at the marks covering her neck and body.
Forget it… Characters in novels can be OOC, but the real person can’t lose all sense of shame.
That’s the final line.
Maybe later when Qin Zhi comes out, I’ll ask if there’s a bathrobe inside—or even just a towel. Anything to wrap myself up with some fabric.
