“Mrs. Zhou is…” The butler lowered his head and took two steps closer, wanting to speak to Yi Jing.
“Wait.” Yi Jing frowned and cautiously took two steps back.
She had come out in a hurry just now, her clothes were wrinkled, her shirt collar was turned out, and her jacket was still clutched in her hand. The lingering scent of pheromones clung to her clothes, easily detectable by anyone who wasn’t a beta.
Having just returned to the Yi family with this identity, and with an apparently high-ranking aunt backing her, she was undoubtedly at a moment of intense scrutiny. It was best not to draw too much attention.
Yi Jing frowned and stepped back, raising her palm to signal the butler to stop, then quickly tidied her clothes and draped the jacket over herself. “Just tell me directly, what’s the matter?”
The butler looked a bit troubled, glancing at the security team not far away, seemingly hesitant to speak.
Yi Jing paused for a moment, turning her head to look at the team beside her.
She was still a bit concerned about the marks on the hands of the person at the end of the line, but there didn’t seem to be any concrete evidence at the moment…
After wrestling with her thoughts for a while, Yi Jing ultimately decided not to question further. She compromised by waving off the patrol team and then said to the butler, “I just encountered a small incident. I’ll go back to tidy myself up first, then I’ll quickly go see Auntie and the Chairman.”
“Very well,” the butler obediently lowered his head.
Yi Jing let out a small sigh of relief and turned to walk briskly towards her own residence.
It wasn’t far from the main mansion where Old Master Yi lived, and it was quite peaceful. She could tell that not many people lived near her—at least Yi Jing hadn’t seen anyone else so far.
After returning to her room, Yi Jing went straight to the dressing room and took off the wrinkled uniform, tossing it into the laundry basket. Among the monotonous array of plain formal wear, suits, and dull formal dresses for social occasions, she chose an outfit with the stiffest shoulder pads and lines.
There was no help for it; the original body’s aura was far too sharp, and she wasn’t suited for anything slightly more relaxed or gentle at the moment.
Yi Jing carried the clothes into the bathroom with a tense expression, her mind still pondering the various possibilities of why Old Master Yi wanted to see her.
She still needed to prepare in advance. After all, she wasn’t familiar with the butler’s side, and it was obvious she wouldn’t be able to get any real information out of him. At most, she would only hear what the old master wanted her to hear. So if she didn’t want to make mistakes later, she still needed to be mentally prepared…
As Yi Jing was thinking this, she inadvertently turned her head and found herself face to face with her reflection in the mirror.
The moment she clearly saw the image in the mirror, Yi Jing was stunned.
It’s… it’s just…
Are sisters always this fierce when doing that kind of thing.
So many marks.Does this mean…
Did the other person also feel good and enjoy it?
She had thought… she had thought…
Yi Jing stared blankly at the mirror for two seconds, her ears and cheeks slowly burning red. It took her a good while to come back to her senses and clumsily climb into the bathtub.
Yi Jing pressed her hand to her chest, her face flushed, while her other hand embarrassedly covered her face, leaving only the tip of her ear exposed, which was so red it seemed about to drip bl00d.
She had thought the other person wasn’t happy, which was why she had left so resolutely at the time. But now looking at this…
Yi Jing sat dumbfounded in the bathtub, her fingers lightly touching the kiss marks on her body. Her mind was filled with memories of what had happened in the abandoned pharmacy earlier. Occasionally, when she thought about kissing the other person, she still felt a bit of heart flutter…
Tsk! What are you thinking!
Yi Jing berated herself for thinking too beautifully while simultaneously being unable to control her thoughts. It took her a good while to realize she hadn’t even filled the bathtub with water.
She had originally planned to just take a quick shower and hurry over!
Really now, had she thrown away all her rationality?! Yi Jing helplessly climbed out of the bathtub and stood in front of the shower to rinse herself clean.
She was about to face Old Master Yi, and her state of mind absolutely could not be this relaxed.
Yi Jing took a deep breath, tidied herself up neatly, and didn’t dare to look at herself in the mirror again.
Now that her rationality had somewhat returned, the first thing she did was to search for suppressants.
She couldn’t believe that she would have forgotten about this right after transmigrating. An alpha who had grown up for over twenty years in this world would surely have prepared suppressants.
Yi Jing looked around the suite and indeed found a not-so-narrow hidden compartment next to the dressing room. The temperature inside was noticeably different from the other rooms.
Yi Jing walked into the compartment to take a look and found several refrigerated medicine cabinets storing many medications.
So this is where they were kept!
Yi Jing immediately went over to look through the medications inside.
The variety of drugs in the cabinet was surprisingly rich. Besides some common medications, there were also some rare ones, such as suppressants, pregnancy test strips, pheromone dissolving agents, and even sedatives. Why did the original body keep sedatives?
Yi Jing didn’t quite understand. She warily eyed those injections, then pulled out a bottle of pheromone dissolving agent and sprayed it liberally on the clothes in the laundry basket.
The situation was still unclear, so it was best to be as careful as possible.
After doing all this, only when she was sure there was not a trace of pheromones left on the clothes and that it would be impossible for anyone to find any evidence of another person from her clothes did Yi Jing put the clothes back in the laundry basket. She then took a suppressant with her and left her room.
By this time, the butler had not left. The Yi family estate was still as quiet as before, looking very peaceful on the surface but actually concealing how many people lived there and how many secrets were hidden.
“Miss Jing, this way please.” The butler was well-trained, ignoring Yi Jing’s previous state as if nothing had happened, and naturally bowed slightly while extending his arm towards Yi Jing.
Yi Jing nodded and followed the butler out.
The path to the main mansion was a bit far. Yi Jing emptied her mind, mechanically noting the route the butler was taking her through while quietly pondering in her mind:
The butler’s current silence couldn’t be trusted. After all, she had just arrived, and judging by her aunt’s attitude, she was even still treated like a child. It was obvious that it would be difficult for her alone to make a butler trusted by Old Master Yi keep secrets for her.
Perhaps, she should make the first move?
As Yi Jing was thinking, she followed the butler into a side hall deep within the main mansion. As soon as they entered this side hall, there was a tense and oppressive feeling that made one feel uneasy.
Yi Jing paused for a moment, then discreetly swept her gaze across the room. Several young people who looked like bodyguards or assistants were scattered in various corners of the side hall.
She didn’t say a word, and those people’s gazes respectfully yet cautiously swept over her face and the butler. After exchanging some unknown information with the butler, they carefully opened the door behind them.
Yi Jing was then guided through two unlocked wooden doors under the direction of these people.
After passing through a design similar to an entrance hall, the lighting inside the doors was a shade darker than the banquet hall outside, making it look more mysterious.
Yi Jing frowned imperceptibly, trying to take in the surrounding information into her mind without leaving any traces.
Yi Jing and the butler walked one in front and one behind, passing by the last bodyguard in the corridor. The assistant standing by the final door reached out to open it.
As the door opened, the heavy scent of agarwood rushed out first.
The next second, light projected from inside the room, and Yi Jing, who had been on alert, was shocked by the dark red decor of the room.
There was no other reason—the room was just too luxurious and too dark.
The dark red wall partitions were thick and substantial. One look told you that the soundproofing and security measures were excellent. The ceiling and wall trims appeared to be pure gold, intricately carved with patterns. The carefully placed furniture in the room was clearly antique at a glance.
Yi Jing didn’t understand much about the art of this world, but that sense of ‘expensive’ and ‘antiquity’ couldn’t be faked.
A unique sense of pressure descended upon the visitor’s heart along with the special decor.
Yi Jing was momentarily speechless, her expression indescribable.
This decorating style really looked quite gloomy. Was it intentional? Was it chosen to give her a shock? Or was Old Master Yi’s daily life always this cautious and oppressive?
Before Yi Jing could finish her thoughts, her aunt’s gentle voice, tinged with a smile, came from inside the room.
“—Is that Jing Jing?”
