Song Bei ordered a lot of food, and the two of them ate slowly and methodically. There was no sound in the private room. Even the waiters who came in to serve the dishes couldn’t help but steal a glance at the two of them.

Inside the door was a scene of silence, but outside, it was a bit noisy. A few waiters gathered around the one who had just delivered the food and asked, “Hey, I heard the Second Miss brought someone into the private room, right?”

This was big news for them. Song Bei had a weird quirk. Although she had her own private room, she would always lead her guests to other rooms. She didn’t like people coming into this one.

They never expected her to bring a girl in today.

The girl who had delivered the food had a mysterious look on her face and whispered, “Not just that, the Second Miss even gave her some food.”

The waiter who had always admired Song Bei had stars in her eyes. “That girl must have done something incredibly good in her past life!”

The others didn’t comment on this relationship. They scattered when they saw the lobby manager walking toward them, and the doorway was instantly empty.

In the private room, Xu Liangchen fell silent as she watched Song Bei put another piece of food on her plate. Since when did she become so caring?

The two of them walked in silence. Song Bei dropped Xu Liangchen off at her doorstep, and seeing her get out of the car, she had the driver stop for a moment. She took a pack of cigarettes out of her pocket and got out of the car.

The cold wind outside was fierce, making her feel a bone-chilling cold.

This feeling was a lot like how a certain person made her feel.

She lit a cigarette, leaned against the car, and exhaled smoke rings from time to time. The smoke was swirling in front of her. She blew out a breath, brought the cigarette to her lips, took a deep puff, and then threw it away.

She was a bit too impatient.

The driver saw that Song Bei wasn’t getting back in the car. He looked at her outside, saw her throw away the cigarette, but still leaning against the car. He picked up the coat on the side and got out of the car.

Xu Liangchen had been standing in the shadows, and she only came out from behind the tree after Song Bei got in the car. The cold wind made her face even paler.

After standing there for a long time, she slowly turned around and walked toward home.

Before she even reached the front door, she heard a sound coming from inside the house—a bang!

Xu Liangchen quickly walked into the house, only to see a mess of tables and chairs, and heard a man’s voice.

“Are you going to tell me or not?! Where is the money?!”

It was Xu An’s voice!

Then came Ye Jin’s weak voice. “I don’t have it, I really don’t! Please don’t hit me anymore!”

Xu Liangchen strode into Ye Jin’s room, only to see her huddled by the edge of the bed cabinet, her hair disheveled and her head bowed low.

She couldn’t see anything on her face, but her clothes were messy, as if they had been torn, and she looked distraught.

She was whimpering, like a small animal that was hurt and didn’t dare to beg for mercy, so she just huddled in a corner, hoping no one would discover her.

Xu An stood in front of her, stretched out his arm, and grabbed her long hair. Her face also appeared in the light.

Ye Jin’s body trembled, her face became even more terrified, and her whole body shook uncontrollably.

Xu Liangchen clenched her teeth, looked at Xu An, and said, “If you dare to come again, we’ll see whose death day it is!”

Xu An chuckled. “What can a little girl like you do? I’m the one who gave birth to you. Without me, you wouldn’t be anything! You little brat, I’ll make you regret this!”

After Xu An finished, he retreated. Xu Liangchen turned around and grabbed Ye Jin’s arm, a little annoyed. “Didn’t I tell you to run the next time he came?!”

Ye Jin shook her head and sat down on the edge of the bed. “I’m afraid that if I leave, he’ll come looking for you…”

Xu Liangchen’s footsteps on her way out the door paused. Her back was straight, her hands were clenched tightly, and her lips were pursed. A sound came from her throat. “Mhm.”
