Wife, I’ve Been Reborn (GL) - Chapter 7
Chapter 7
Classroom Encounters and a Helping Hand
Before class ended, the group leader came to collect homework, and couldn’t help but steal a few more glances at Xu Liangchen. His delicate cheeks flushed slightly as he whispered to Mu Nan, “You’re so lucky!”
Mu Nan glanced at Xu Liangchen, then nodded. “What’s wrong? Do you want to switch seats with me?”
The group leader quickly nodded. “I dream of it!”
Mu Nan burst out laughing. “Then you’d better keep dreaming!” The group leader playfully tapped Mu Nan’s body with the collected notebooks. Mu Nan leaned closer to Xu Liangchen. “Your Majesty, save me!”
Xu Liangchen’s palm grabbed the group leader’s arm. Her five fingers tightened. Looking at her soft and weak appearance, one wouldn’t expect such strength. The group leader only felt a slight pain in his wrist. His hand was still raised, his face flushed with embarrassment. Xu Liangchen turned to Mu Nan and said, “Stop fooling around,” her tone quite helpless.
It wasn’t until the group leader left that Mu Nan frowned. “Don’t you dislike people touching you? Why did you just grab him then?”
Xu Liangchen looked somewhat puzzled by this. “When did I say that?”
“So you don’t dislike it then?” Mu Nan’s eyes were full of delight, her fingers wiggling. Xu Liangchen’s next sentence made her angrily drop her arms again.
“I don’t dislike it, but I don’t like it either.”
“Weirdo!”
…
An Unexpected Dilemma
After class meant school was out. They were all day students. First and second-year high school students didn’t have to attend evening self-study, but third-year students did. Chen Jiao lived the same way as Mu Nan and would always wait for her at the door after school. Today was no exception. Chen Jiao felt anxious watching the dawdling Mu Nan.
“Mu Nan, hurry up!”
Mu Nan’s face was a little red from holding it in. She raised her hand to beckon Chen Jiao over. Chen Jiao saw her unusual expression and ran to her side in a few steps. “What’s wrong?” Mu Nan was a little conflicted, hesitating.
“What exactly is it? Hurry up and tell me, or I’m leaving.”
“Don’t go…” Mu Nan grabbed Chen Jiao’s arm, pulled her closer, and whispered in her ear.
“Ah!?”
Xu Liangchen sat to the side. Hearing Chen Jiao’s exclamatory sound, she looked up. She glanced at Mu Nan’s expression and knew what was going on. Counting the days, it was also time for Mu Nan’s period. She was still the same as ever. Always forgetting her own date. Later, Xu Liangchen just remembered the dates herself and would remind Mu Nan to bring sanitary pads to work when it was approaching.
Mu Nan bit her lip, not knowing what to do. Although there were many female classmates in the class, asking them to lend her that was too difficult. She simply couldn’t open her mouth. And she could already feel the bl00d flowing freely down there. Her pants must have gotten stained. This was truly…
Chen Jiao patted her hand reassuringly. “Wait for me, I’ll go buy some at the small store.” Mu Nan’s eyes were misty with tears. “Okay.”
Xu Liangchen stood up at this moment. “I’ll go instead.” Her usually beautiful face still showed no expression, but her tone was much gentler. “Chen Jiao, you stay here with her. I’ll be back in a moment.”
“Okay.”
When Xu Liangchen said “a moment,” she truly meant it. About ten minutes later, she returned. In her hand, she carried not only a bag of sanitary pads but also a shirt. The shirt was black and oversized, clearly not Xu Liangchen’s. Mu Nan couldn’t help but ask, “Where did you get that shirt?” Xu Liangchen, in a rare moment of joking, said, “Stole it.” Mu Nan pouted, not replying.
Xu Liangchen tied the shirt around Mu Nan’s waist. She was much taller than Mu Nan, and as she bent down to help Mu Nan tie the shirt, her hair kept tickling Mu Nan’s cheek, making her feel itchy. Mu Nan’s gaze, unsure where to settle, fell upon Xu Liangchen’s beautiful neck. On the left side of her neck was a red mole, like a dot of cinnabar, exquisitely beautiful. Mu Nan’s nostrils were filled with Xu Liangchen’s scent, fresh and clean, perfectly matching her serene aura.
“Xu Liangchen.”
Xu Liangchen’s movements paused, as if she were nonchalant. “Hmm?”
Mu Nan, somehow finding the courage, suddenly hugged her. “You’re so beautiful!” Xu Liangchen was momentarily stunned by the hug, then pulled away from Mu Nan, her phoenix eyes filled with frost. “Aren’t you going home quickly!”
Chen Jiao had been waiting at the door for a while. “Are you ready?” Mu Nan nodded. “Yes, I’ll go to the restroom, and then we can go home.”
After Mu Nan left, Xu Liangchen cleaned the bloodstain from her stool. A long strand of hair was still wrapped around her pinky finger. She wrapped the hair around each finger, then her wrist, and finally took out a pen to wind it around, tying a knot at the end. Unless one looked closely, it was completely unnoticeable. So good.
…
Dinner, Homework, and Lingering Thoughts
Mu Nan was lectured by her brother when she got home. Such a big girl, and she didn’t even know to keep these daily necessities in her backpack. She truly wasn’t afraid of being embarrassed. Mu Nan glared at her brother, not speaking. At school, they were used to roughhousing with boys. It was a habit for them to rummage through each other’s bags, looking for novels or snacks. How could she put such things in there? If someone saw it, they’d die of laughter!
Mu Yang, who didn’t play so wildly with girls when he was in school, couldn’t understand his sister’s situation. He could only lecture her a bit. “Quibbling.” Mu Nan didn’t argue with him. After eating, she still had to rush to school.
As she was about to leave home, she suddenly wondered if Xu Liangchen had eaten. Xu Liangchen had helped her so much today; it wouldn’t be right not to show her appreciation. She scooped some rice from the pot, added some dishes, and brought it to the classroom.
Xu Liangchen was still sitting in her seat, staring blankly out the window. At this time, there were only a few students in the class. Those who lived in dorms were still there, and day students hadn’t arrived yet. Only two or three students sat together, discussing who-knew-what.
Mu Nan handed the lunchbox in her hand to Xu Liangchen. “Here, I brought you dinner.” Xu Liangchen took it with both hands. “Thank you.”
Mu Nan waited a few minutes, but Xu Liangchen still hadn’t picked up her chopsticks, so she urged her, “Why aren’t you eating?” Xu Liangchen, feeling watched and helpless, opened the lunchbox. Stir-fried shredded potatoes, scrambled eggs with tomatoes. She took a bite and asked, “Did your brother make this?” Mu Nan’s eyes widened. “You, you, you… How did you know?”
Xu Liangchen paused, realizing her slip of the tongue. She then pretended to be nonchalant. “I just heard other classmates say you have a brother, and you don’t look like someone who can cook.” Mu Nan nodded vigorously. “So smart!” Xu Liangchen’s heart subtly eased.
“Is it good?” Seeing Xu Liangchen had finished eating, Mu Nan asked with a smile, her small canine teeth appearing in Xu Liangchen’s view. Xu Liangchen nodded. “It’s good.” The taste was indeed excellent. Besides his academic achievements, Mu Yang’s cooking was also superb; he had inherited all the good qualities of their parents.
She remembered that Mu Nan was very unconvinced when she heard this, asking if she had no优点 at all. She looked like an angry little animal, adorable with her bared teeth and claws. At that time, Xu Liangchen simply pressed her back onto the bed and whispered in her ear, “Even if you’re full of flaws, in my eyes, you are the most perfect.” The little animal suddenly smiled, clinging to her with hands and feet all night long. A whole night of indulgence.
Xu Liangchen suddenly felt a burning discomfort in her throat. She watched Mu Nan clearing the dishes, biting her lips, turning their soft pink color to bright red. So difficult…
