Wish to Get Rich But Wear a Scumbag A - Chapter 30
“Say… what?”
Yan He paused briefly, then said sincerely to Qi Xingwan, “You shouldn’t place too much hope in me.”
Playing games and completing tasks? I’m hopeless at that!
That damn Original Host must have had a screw loose. Why couldn’t she just enjoy being a rich second-generation heir at home? Why did she have to come suffer in the entertainment industry…?
Qi Xingwan: “…You too.”
Zhou Yunuo: “???”
These two are playing good cop/bad cop and completely baffling Sister Zhou, hahaha!
I declare this the ultimate trash talk!
My god, these top-lane wives are already planning where to sleep tonight!
Well, that’s just hopeless…
With the town map in hand, the teams immediately set off, each heading in their own direction.
Their eyes showed no trace of work enthusiasm, only fear of the T-shaped Room.
There were five task locations, and the specific tasks would only be revealed upon arrival.
“Which one do you want to go to first?” Yan He politely asked the Female Lead for her opinion.
Qi Xingwan rolled up the map. “Let’s go to the farthest one first. Fewer people means we won’t have to compete and can start the task right away.”
With five tasks for four teams, the tasks would inevitably be saturated. Staggering the cooldown periods was crucial, since only one team could perform a task at a time.
They should start with the farthest location. If they finished ahead of schedule, it would save them travel time later.
Most importantly, the farthest location had two tasks, making it the most cost-effective option.
Qi Xingwan explained her plan to Yan He and naturally asked, “Can you ride a bicycle?”
“Of course! Left is west, right is east, up is north, down is south…” Yan He was still struggling to orient herself on the map, spinning around with her arms outstretched. “Why is everything east and west? Who came up with this saying? It’s completely useless! Didn’t they realize people would just spin in circles?”
In Qi Xingwan’s memory, Yan He couldn’t drive. She never needed to; she always had a chauffeur to take her wherever she wanted.
Qi Xingwan was initially surprised that Yan He could ride a bicycle, but after witnessing the Eldest Miss’s map-reading skills, she wasn’t surprised anymore.
She pulled Yan He onto the street and pointed at a shop. “Which direction does that mala tang restaurant face?”
“North-facing, south-facing!” Yan He exclaimed, finally understanding. “So the front is south, the back is north, left is west, and right is east. Qi Xingwan, let’s have mala tang for lunch!”
Qi Xingwan: “???”
They hadn’t even started working, and lunch plans were already set? Was it appropriate for the conversation to shift so drastically?
“Oh, can’t you eat high-calorie foods?” Yan He asked, only realizing after speaking that the wise and mighty Female Lead was a disciplined superstar. She thoughtfully added, “No worries, you can just sit and watch me eat.”
Qi Xingwan paused. “You’ve forgotten something.”
Yan He tilted her head.
Qi Xingwan sighed. “We’re broke.”
Yan He: Σ( ゚ ゚)
Hahaha, the Eldest Miss is cracking up.
Even the God of Wealth’s Beloved has to worry about money? Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant!
How exactly does that “left west, right east” mnemonic work? There are buildings on both sides of the street now, and not all shops face south! Aaaah!
I’ll teach you. Find a wife and have her point to a south-facing house and ask you which direction it faces.
Just look at the North Star. That’s what they taught us in school…
What about during the day?
What if you don’t know how to find the North Star?

This town is pretty big. Director Han and Xinxin’s group have already completed half their tasks, and we’ve only just arrived.
Where’s Sister Zhou?
They chose a task location that requires going through narrow alleys. She’s still asking for directions.
Following the map, Qi Xingwan and Yan He arrived at a small elementary school.
Qi Xingwan skillfully approached a staff member wearing a program badge and greeted her, “Hello, what are the tasks here?”
The staff member replied, “There are two tasks at the elementary school. First, the Food Protector Chief for Class 101 is absent today, so you’ll serve as temporary chiefs, handling lunch distribution and cleanup. Second, the students in Class 601 are struggling to decide on a performance for their graduation ceremony. Please help them choose a suitable type of act.”
“Lunchtime is from 11:35 AM to 12:30 PM, followed by naptime from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM.”
Qi Xingwan glanced at her phone. It was 11:03 AM, leaving just over half an hour until lunch.
“Let’s tackle the first task first. Should we head to the classroom or go straight to the cafeteria to get the food?”
The staff member explained, “First and second graders are dismissed at 11:20 AM. Walk straight ahead to the playground, then turn right. The cafeteria is clearly marked along the way.”
Yan He raised her hand. “As the Food Protector Chief, do I get free meals at the cafeteria?”
The staff member sighed in relief. “Yes, you do. If you don’t like the cafeteria food, you can wait until 12:30 PM and eat boxed lunches with us.”
Satisfied, Yan He grabbed Qi Xingwan’s hand and sprinted off.
It hadn’t been long since they left the dining hall, but the cafeteria had already prepared the meals. The Food Protector Chief’s job was to push the cart into the classroom and serve the students.
The cart had three tiers. The bottom tier housed a warming box containing bowls, chopsticks, and a soup bucket, while the upper two tiers each held two stainless steel serving pans.
Qi Xingwan tried pushing the cart. It was quite heavy. Would it be too much for the first-graders to handle?
Yan He fastened the straps, pushed the cart, and asked, “What’s wrong?”
Qi Xingwan: “I was just wondering if the students can manage to push all this.”
“Pfft, back in school, we even held hands to go to the bathroom together. Serving food is way more fun—they’ll be fighting over it! Didn’t you ever help the class rep carry homework to the office or hand out test papers?” Yan He asked casually as she grabbed half an apple from the auntie and started munching on it.
Qi Xingwan nodded, glancing at her worriedly. “Yan He, you… they’re still growing, you wouldn’t steal their food, right?”
Yan He: “? Steal their food? The cart has exactly two chicken drumsticks per person, and there’s plenty of everything else. I even made sure to pack extra—they’ll have enough, and whatever’s left is for us.”
Huh? What kind of person does this scoring system think I am?
Does she really look like the kind of starving ghost who would snatch food from the nation’s precious children?!
Damn it, the Female Lead isn’t being wise and mighty at all today!
Qi Xingwan: “Tell me, how could there possibly be a job as strange as Food Protector Chief?”
“What’s so strange about Food Protector Chief? There’s also Blackboard Beautician, Eye Exercise Junior Doctor, and Back Gate Administrator. The most ridiculous one is Starlight Administrator—do you even know what that job entails?”
A giant question mark popped into Qi Xingwan’s head. “Turning on the air conditioning?”
Yan He: “Cleaning up spiderwebs.”
Qi Xingwan didn’t understand but tried to be respectful. “? The first task is a bit odd. If we complete it successfully, the next group will have to wait for dinner. Wouldn’t that mean only two groups can finish the task?”
Yan He laughed at her. “You’re worried I’ll steal their food? I think you’re the one with food on the brain. After lunch, there’s nap time. After nap time, there’s the big break for eye exercises. And if all else fails, we can have you teach a substitute class. Ke Wenxin could teach the kids singing—what a bargain!”
“Besides, the students aren’t eating in the cafeteria tonight. We’ll have to slink back and devour the Director instead.”
A hint of surprise and suspicion flickered in Qi Xingwan’s eyes. “How do you know the students aren’t eating in the cafeteria?”
