Wish to Get Rich But Wear a Scumbag A - Chapter 4
The moment the notification sounded, Yan He knew she was doomed. The female lead had definitely misunderstood.
“Ah, no, I meant you should wash yourself. I’ll go get the medicine and wait outside!”
“I don’t have the energy for your games,” Qi Xingwan said, frowning, a flicker of disgust in her eyes. “If you want to hit me, you don’t need to make up such flimsy excuses.”
“I’m talking about the wound medicine! The wound medicine! I wasn’t trying to take advantage of you!”
Good heavens, did my explanation really sound so ambiguous?
What exactly has the female lead misinterpreted this time?
Damn the original host!
“I’ll go get you some clothes. Don’t wash yet!”
Yan He hurried out, feeling overwhelmed by the walk-in closet, which was even larger than the dean’s office.
After accessing the original host’s memories, she at least managed to locate the pajama section.
With no time to think, Yan He grabbed a set at random and tossed it into the bathroom. “Go ahead and wash up. I’ll go get the medicine.”
The bathroom door cracked open a sliver before slamming shut, sending a cold draft across the clothes on the table.
Qi Xingwan’s gaze lingered on the silk pajamas. The fabric was smooth as silk, its pearly white surface shimmering faintly under the light.
An ordinary set of pajamas, yet its presence here felt strangely unsettling.
Qi Xingwan tested the water temperature, gritting her teeth as she rinsed her wounds, her mind calculating how much longer Yan He intended to starve her.
In the past, Yan He’s tantrums would last only two or three days. Once her anger subsided, she’d act as if nothing had happened and go out to play. Occasionally, she’d even bring Qi Xingwan along, like to last night’s party, where she’d cruelly tease her.
The water stung Qi Xingwan’s broken skin, causing her to gasp sharply and her mood to darken further.
Ever since that incident had been exposed, Yan He had stopped pretending. Why was she putting on that false mask again today?

Thanks for the invite. I’m in the living room, clutching the medicine kit, ordering takeout, while the system is dinging like crazy, slashing my favorability.
Yan He’s vision swam, and she nearly wished she could just die right there. The last time she’d felt this panicked was when she’d been caught skipping class by a teacher while riding her bike around campus.
Did I forget to flush the toilet? Or did I not flush it properly? Why is the female lead angry again?
“Miss?” Yan He’s sudden silence made the servant’s anxiety spike.
“Ah? Oh…” Yan He snapped back to reality. “Just some light dishes, right? Keep it bland these next few days.”
I wonder if the female lead has seen a doctor for her injuries…
Probably not. That damned Original Host likely wouldn’t even give her medicine.
Her death would have been a clean end, leaving me with this mess.
Damn it!
“Hey, you—yes, you,” Yan He called out to a passing servant. “Get a doctor here immediately.”
“The Second Miss is injured?!” Aunt Wu exclaimed, bursting from behind her with a flurry of concern and venom. “That Omega dared to strike you? Miss, you can’t keep being soft on her. This time, starve her for a few days to teach her some manners!”
“I’ve been saying this all along—what kind of Omega refuses to be touched after months of marriage? It’s a disgrace to the Yan Family! You’ve spoiled her too much. We need to reestablish the rules!”
Perhaps because Aunt Wu was a significant supporting character, Yan He’s mind immediately flooded with relevant memories and plot details the moment she spoke.
Aunt Wu was a Beta, the family’s capable and loquacious housekeeper. With her silver tongue, she had manipulated the Original Host into a puppet, earning her deep favor. Under the Original Host’s tacit approval, Aunt Wu had long harbored animosity toward the female lead, pulling every string to ensure the Original Host’s tragic end.
Yan He silently retreated, dodging Aunt Wu’s spittle, and declared sternly, “Don’t speak like that again, or I’ll dismiss you.”
“Mi-Miss?” Aunt Wu froze, as if unable to believe her ears. After a stunned silence, she turned to a nearby servant and asked, “Has that Omega finally agreed to let the Second Miss mark her?”
“I think so. I saw her wearing the Second Miss’s nightgown when I went up to deliver the medicine kit!”
“Maybe they’ve already done the temporary marking. The Second Miss just ordered the kitchen to make stomach-soothing porridge tonight. She must be worried that the Omega can’t handle greasy food after being hungry all day.”
“Then… should we start calling her Madam?”
“What are you thinking?! The Old Madam doesn’t approve of that one upstairs. They’ll divorce sooner or later!”
“Is all the work done?”
A stern voice cut through the chattering crowd, silencing them instantly. Their nervous gazes darted between Aunt Wu and Lin Tong.
As a highly professional Alpha, Lin Tong felt utterly hopeless about her new assignment as Yan He’s assistant.
If it weren’t for the exponentially increasing salary and the highly valuable school district apartment, Lin Tong would have suspected she’d offended the Chairman and been exiled to serve this Second-Generation Scion.
The Second-Generation Scion consistently shattered new lows, leaving everyone defenseless. His volatile and spoiled temper had only worsened after the marriage.
Lin Tong had even suggested the Chairman set up a minor incident to get the Second-Generation Scion arrested for his own safety.
Unfortunately, the Chairman politely declined and generously offered her a year’s salary as a hush payment—even though the Second-Generation Scion hadn’t broken any laws, just behaved inhumanely.
For the sake of money, Lin Tong suppressed her conscience and cooperated.
To be honest, Lin Tong had practically dragged Doctor Wu here, terrified that the Second Miss might change her mind if she was even a second late.
Despite her frantic efforts, the Second Miss didn’t back out, but the gossiping servants were having a field day.
Exhausted and unwilling to offend the Grand Eunuch of the Directorate of Ceremonial, Lin Tong glared at the nosy onlookers who were clearly enjoying the drama and hurried Doctor Wu upstairs.
She stopped at the door and knocked. “Madam, Doctor Wu is here.”
A moment passed before a reply came from inside.
“Come in.” Qi Xingwan set down the cotton swab she was holding and glanced at the newcomers, a mocking smile curving her lips. “Here to deliver her medicine again?”
