Writing Love Letters in the Enemy’s Toilet - A Vow of Eternal Love, Even After Rebirth (Transmigration) - Chapter 19
At that time, in the Celestial Realm, Lucifer approached Zeus for a consultation.
“Zeus, it’s good that peace has returned to the mortal world,” Lucifer began, “but lately, humans have increased too much. If they keep multiplying like this, this planet will not last…”
But Zeus, whose wife had just discovered that he’d been secretly fathering children with human women, was in no mood to deal with anything else. Without even listening, he waved his hand and said, “Lucifer, I leave it to you.”
Taking Zeus’s words as permission, Lucifer turned to Poseidon and ordered him to unleash a great tsunami.
That day, Yoshifushi’s wife and children were playing by the sea. The massive waves came crashing in, swallowing them and the nearby coastal village one after another.
Losing his wife and children all at once, Yoshifushi was overcome with grief and fell ill, bedridden by sorrow.
Hashiba and Hōsen-sai, worried for their friend, came to visit him. As they sat by his bedside, the kingdom’s greatest astrologer, Lucifel, also arrived.
Lucifel looked upon Yoshifushi and sighed deeply. “Even if it is an act of the gods,” he said, “this is far too cruel.”
Hashiba nodded. “Indeed… what happened this time is truly regrettable.”
Lucifel’s eyes darkened. “Can we really allow the gods to do as they please with this world?”
Hashiba hesitated. “But still…”
“You are the only ones capable of protecting this planet,” Lucifel interrupted firmly.
He stepped closer. “You possess power that rivals even the gods! Please, I beg you—protect this world!”
Yoshifushi slowly sat up in bed and turned to his friend. “Hashiba… will you help me?”
Hashiba immediately placed a hand on his chest. “If it is your wish, then of course I will!”
Then he stood, his eyes blazing with determination. “From this moment forth, we will rise up against the gods—to defend this planet from their tyranny!”
Yoshifushi looked at Hōsen-sai. “Come with us.”
But Hōsen-sai raised a hand. “Wait. Calm down first. Do you even understand what you’re saying?”
Hashiba clenched his fist. “We have this power, don’t we?”
“No matter how great your power,” Hōsen-sai replied, “to fight against the gods is utterly—”
Before he could finish, Yoshifushi shouted, “I don’t need your help anymore!”
With that, he leapt onto the back of his white tiger, soaring straight up into the sky.
Hashiba followed, mounting the great black tortoise Genbu, and together they vanished into the heavens.
Hōsen-sai was left standing there, stunned. This is bad… he thought. And in that very moment, a terrifying vision flashed across his mind—a rain of countless meteors falling upon the world, the wrath of the gods unleashed.
He wasted no time. Mounting the red phoenix Suzaku, he turned back toward the castle.
“It’s no use… this planet can no longer be saved,” he muttered under his breath. “At the very least, I must protect my family! Please, let me make it in time! Suzaku, lend me your strength!”
Moments later, a storm of meteors rained down upon the planet.
And thus, the world once called “the Moon” met its end.
