Writing Love Letters in the Enemy’s Toilet - A Vow of Eternal Love, Even After Rebirth (Transmigration) - Chapter 32 – Sortie
When Tia and the others arrived at the scene, they saw more than ten Black Dragons in the sky.
Tia frowned. “There are more than usual.”
Mares nodded. “I’ll leave the civilian protection to Helios and focus on the attack.”
Tia glanced at him. “You sure we can trust him with that?”
Mares grinned. “Let’s have a little faith in our ace.” With that, he charged toward the swarm of Black Dragons. Tia sighed. “Ugh, this number’s too much for just one person.” Then she followed after him.
Helios descended with Suzaku into the town and shouted, “Black Dragons are approaching! Everyone in this area, please evacuate immediately!”
People rushed out from buildings, and Helios continued, “The Defense Force will arrive soon! Follow their instructions and evacuate in an orderly manner!”
A few moments later, Ares and his unit arrived and began guiding civilians to safety. Just then, one of the Black Dragons spotted Suzaku.
“So that’s the new guy, huh?!” it growled, turning toward him.
Ares shouted, “Helios! That one’s coming straight at us! Hold it off until the evacuation’s complete!”
“Got it!” Helios replied. He soared into the sky, positioning himself between the dragon and the town.
“You’re not getting past me!” he declared.
“Heh, let’s see what you’ve got!” The Black Dragon lunged at him.
Helios raised Suzaku’s arm on instinct to block the strike— and in the next instant, the Black Dragon spun out of control and crashed to the ground.
Mares, watching from above, gawked. “What the—?! One hit?!” He broke into a nervous sweat. Good thing we didn’t spar earlier… I’ll wait until he learns how to control that power.
Tia, distracted by Suzaku’s sudden burst of power, muttered, “Maybe I should leave his training to Mares…” But as she spoke, a Black Dragon crept up behind her.
Helios’s eyes widened. Tia’s in danger!
Before he could think, Suzaku fired a beam.
It sliced through the air, grazing the Black Dragon— and barely missed Tia’s Xuanwu.
“Watch it! You almost hit me!” Tia yelled, glaring at him. That idiot! He hasn’t even finished training yet… He’s definitely getting special drills when we get back! she thought angrily.
The beam had only grazed the Black Dragon, yet it still lost control and spiraled down, black smoke trailing behind.
Seeing this, the remaining Black Dragons growled, “We’ve got the data we need. Retreat!”
Without retrieving the fallen, they turned and fled into the clouds—something they had never done before.
Later, one of the Black Dragon soldiers returned to Animus and showed the footage to an executive named Langstone, reporting the entire battle.
Langstone’s eyes narrowed. “Summon Lucifer. We need to accelerate the research.”
