Yearning For Warmth, Day and Night - Chapter 37
Chapter 37: Kiss
When Eleven entered the room, Wei Hui was sitting on the sofa taking medicine. She had a few drinks before, which came at a high cost, hence her habit of abstaining from alcohol. Generally, no one would offer her a toast. If it hadn’t been for Luo Zhouping causing trouble today, she wouldn’t have drunk that glass of wine.
The deference she showed wasn’t to Du Yue Ming’s face, but to the entire Du family. This, Du Yue Ming should understand very well.
Wei Hui tilted her head back and swallowed the medicine, hearing a crisp voice beside her ask, “Third Miss, are you feeling alright?”
The gaze cast towards her held concern, soft and delicate, like fine threads intertwining around her chest, spreading little by little, wrapping around her when she wasn’t paying attention. Wei Hui put down the water glass and chuckled softly: “I’m fine.”
“You should wash up and rest early. You worked hard today.”
Eleven stared at her expression steadily. There was a faint blush on Wei Hui’s cheeks, not the abnormal red of a fever, but likely from the alcohol. Eleven felt slightly relieved and nodded: “Okay, I’ll go to the bathroom first.”
She went into the bathroom with her clothes. After closing the door, she felt a bit awkward. The hotel’s decoration was simply too—bold, she thought for a long time before finding the word. Aside from the appliances and decorations, everything else was basically transparent, especially this bathroom. The door was made of glass, with only the middle part frosted, while the top and bottom were clear. If she stood there undressing, anyone in the living room would surely have a clear view.
Eleven was a bit shy. She held her clothes and stood for a few seconds, still clinging to the door, trying her best to hide behind it to undress. Although she knew Wei Hui wouldn’t peek, that sense of shame still extended from her head to her toes. Finally, she managed to undress and hung her clothes on the nearby hanger. Her body wasn’t steady, and she stumbled against the hanger, making a clanging sound. Wei Hui immediately looked over.
She was worried that Eleven might be feeling the effects of the few drinks she had earlier, so upon hearing the noise, she turned her head and called out, “Eleven?”
“Mm, mm.” Two unnatural responses. Wei Hui stood up and looked intently, getting a general view of the bathroom. The nearly naked body of the young girl came into view, long black hair cascading behind her, her fair body faintly visible. She was slender, with a small frame. Standing there and turning her head, her eyes showed a hint of panic, looking very pitiful.
Wei Hui remembered such eyes. When she first brought Eleven into the Wei family, Eleven had looked at her with the same gaze. What had her feelings been then? She had forgotten, but now a strange feeling arose in her heart, unrelated to desire, only pity and helplessness.
She knocked on the door: “Eleven.”
Eleven looked left and right, then immediately grabbed a white bath towel from the nearby hanger to cover her chest. Her face flushed, she opened the door, lowering her head bashfully. She saw Wei Hui step inside without a word and gasped: “Third Miss!”
Wei Hui walked to the door and pointed to a box, saying, “Press that.”
Eleven tilted her head to look at her, then at a green button inside the box. Obediently, she pressed it, hearing a buzzing sound. She looked up and saw a light blue fabric slowly descending from the ceiling, attaching itself to the back of the door and the glass. The entire bathroom changed color and became opaque.
So that’s how it worked. She was so silly.
Eleven’s face grew even redder.
Wei Hui saw her press the button, then turned on the light, softly saying, “Go ahead and wash.”
Eleven bit her lip. Just as she meekly said “Thank you, Third Miss,” she heard the sound of the door closing. She looked up. Wei Hui had already left the bathroom. She stood there, clutching the bath towel, without a single thread on her, inside or out.
After coming out of the bathroom, Wei Hui opened her laptop. The start date for the unfinished building project was already confirmed for next Friday, a chosen auspicious day. Besides various media outlets, the board members and several CEOs of partner companies would be present. Wei Hui hadn’t specifically informed Shen Hao this time, but she received a message from him first, saying he was available and would arrive early, even asking if she needed any help. She sneered; the Shen family never tired of such opportunism.
However, the Shen family was still a major player, so their prestige had to be respected. Wei Hui personally called Shen Hao and set a time.
Eleven emerged from the bathroom dressed in long-sleeved pajamas and saw Wei Hui on the sofa talking on the phone. When she discussed business, her expression was very cold, her voice not loud, but imbued with authority. Her words were like commands, allowing no argument or resistance. Eleven thought, no one would dare to resist anyway.
Even though the person in front of her was ill, and severely so, Eleven just felt that Wei Hui was very powerful, so powerful that nothing could crush her.
Not even her illness could.
The Third Miss will get better.
Eleven murmured to herself, walking over to Wei Hui’s side and softly saying, “Third Miss, I’m done washing. You can go wash now.”
Wei Hui happened to hang up the phone. She raised her eyelids to look at Eleven, then nodded: “Go to bed and rest once you’re done washing.”
Eleven stood by the coffee table: “Are you still working? Is there anything I can help with?”
“No,” Wei Hui lowered her head: “I still have to look at some documents. You go rest first.”
Eleven couldn’t argue with her, so she reluctantly agreed: “Okay.”
She turned and climbed into bed. The bed in this room was by the window, in the innermost corner. The crystal chandelier in the living room was on. After Eleven got into bed, Wei Hui deliberately turned off the main light, leaving on a softer, non-glaring ambient light. Eleven was indeed very tired, but the faint rustling sound of Wei Hui turning pages still affected her. It wasn’t the kind of effect that made it hard to sleep, but the kind that made her忍不住, wanting to secretly look.
Eleven turned over, glancing at Wei Hui out of the corner of her eye. She saw Wei Hui looking down at documents, her long hair obscuring half her face. The dim light was warm, making her entire figure appear soft.
Her bangs gently fell, covering her sharp eyebrows and eyes. Her nose was elegantly straight; the sensation of it brushing her cheek was still there. Her lips were crimson; the Third Miss always liked to wear vibrant colors. Her skin was as fair as jade, incredibly delicate, and her collarbone was half-covered, faintly visible. Eleven felt her face inexplicably flush, and her heart pounded, unusually fast. She quickly averted her gaze, closing her eyes and feigning sleep.
Before she fell asleep, her phone vibrated. She picked it up and saw a message from Du Yue Ming: “Eleven, have you used it?”
Eleven then remembered the skincare product Du Yue Ming had given her earlier. She scratched her head: “Not yet.”
Du Yue Ming immediately typed: “Dawdling, go use it quickly!”
Eleven had no choice but to get out of bed and slip into the bathroom. She didn’t know where to apply it, but remembering the skincare product Wei Hui had given her, which was for the body, she squeezed out a little and rubbed it on her arms and legs. Finally, she put the bottle away and went back to bed to rest.
Wei Hui watched her wander around, and a faint fragrance wafted over. She didn’t suspect anything and continued to look at her documents until her alarm went off around nine o’clock. Only then did she close her documents and go to the bathroom to wash up.
When she came out again, Eleven was already asleep. Wei Hui had originally intended to grab a quilt and sleep on the sofa, but it was winter, and the night was quite cold. She didn’t want to catch a cold or fever here, so after a few seconds of deliberation, she still chose to get into bed.
The quilt was very warm, and heat continuously emanated from Eleven’s side. Wei Hui was extremely sensitive to cold; winter was often the hardest season for her. Even with ample heating in the room, her hands and feet would be cold before bed and still cold when she woke up. So, when a small warm stove unexpectedly appeared beside her, she succumbed to the warmth and moved closer to Eleven.
As soon as she leaned over, she regretted it, because Eleven, sensing someone beside her, quickly wrapped her arms around Wei Hui’s arm and nestled her head against Wei Hui’s neck, nuzzling. The soft sensation and fragrant scent. Wei Hui lowered her eyes and saw Eleven sleeping soundly, with a faint smile on her lips.
She must be having a sweet dream.
Wei Hui suddenly indulged her boldness, letting her continue to embrace her.
The entire room was quiet, with two steady, long breaths. The atmosphere was serene. Not long after, one of the breaths became rapid.
Hot, very hot, extremely hot. Eleven felt as if there was a ball of fire hidden inside her body, making her so hot that she couldn’t help but kick off the blanket. Wei Hui felt a cold draft. She opened her eyes and saw that the blanket had been pushed down to Eleven’s abdomen. She sighed, pulled the blanket back up, and covered them both. In the darkness, Eleven uncomfortably pushed it away again, hitting Wei Hui. Wei Hui sat up, silent for a few seconds, then turned on the bedside lamp. She looked and saw Eleven’s messy long hair covering half her face, and the top three buttons of her long-sleeved cotton pajamas undone. She was sleeping on her side, and with the fabric pressed against her, one could vaguely see her cleavage.
Looking closely, she wasn’t as thin as she appeared.
Wei Hui looked away, putting the blanket back over Eleven’s shoulders. Before she could turn off the light, she saw Eleven push it away again. After three times, Wei Hui’s expression subtly changed. She called out, “Eleven.”
The sleeping person didn’t respond, only mumbling indistinctly. Wei Hui pushed her: “Eleven.”
As soon as her hand touched Eleven’s shoulder, it was gripped in return. Then Eleven pulled her with force. Wei Hui, unable to dodge in time, bumped into Eleven. A scent wafted over, piercing her nerves. She sniffed. It wasn’t any scent she had encountered before. Her current posture was truly improper. She softly called out, “Eleven.”
Eleven turned over, released Wei Hui’s hands, and instead embraced her waist. Wei Hui thought she was dreaming and didn’t resist too strongly, until Eleven buried her face in Wei Hui’s chest.
And licked it.
The sensation of a tongue gliding over her skin was incredibly sensitive, sending shivers through her. Wei Hui instantly tensed her body and pushed Eleven away.
Eleven’s arms were empty. She opened her eyes, a bewildered look in them, her face slightly flushed. Wei Hui guessed that she had drunk a lot of wine earlier, and perhaps the aftereffects were kicking in, causing this behavior. She softly said, “You sit here and don’t move. I’ll go get you a glass of water.”
Before she could even get out of bed, her wrist was seized. Eleven sat on the edge of the bed like a small dog, looking up at her. Her eyes blinked gently, her long eyelashes like cicada wings, stirring a tiny ripple in Wei Hui’s heart.
Her finger gaps were filled by another hand. Wei Hui looked down and saw Eleven holding her hand with the hand that had gripped her wrist, their fingers intertwined. Earlier in the bathroom, she had seen Eleven undressed but hadn’t felt much, simply seeing her as a child who had just come of age.
But at this moment, her palms were sweating.
Because she realized that she was having different thoughts about this recently adult child!
Wei Hui was startled by her own thought. She turned to leave, but Eleven didn’t agree. She tugged at Wei Hui. After all, Eleven was a healthy adult. Wei Hui was pulled back to sit on the edge of the bed by Eleven. Eleven didn’t speak, just stared at her with those hazy, watery eyes. They gazed at each other, and just as Wei Hui was about to speak, Eleven leaned in with her soft lips, silencing Wei Hui’s words!
