You Are Really No Match For Me [Fighting] - Chapter 40
At noon,
the three of them gathered together.
“How about it? Did anyone join your side?” Jin Yu was the first to ask.
Liang Yu shook his head. “No. Yesterday they got too close to Scarface’s gang. The moment they heard his name, they were scared stiff. Not a single one dared to come.”
【I just checked over there too. The second Scarface’s name came up, they all shook their heads like rattle drums, hahaha】
【Am I the only one worried? If no one helps Yu-jie, what will happen?】
Xie Fei snorted angrily. “Those cowards. All they want is for us to shield them at the front while they sit in the back waiting to pick up scraps.”
【That’s pretty normal though. Who wants to be the one sticking their neck out first?】
【But if no one dares to act, they’ll all be eliminated in the end. At least working together gives them a chance.】
【Still, surviving one more day is better than nothing. Scarface is way too strong. If he sets his eyes on you, you’re done for.】
“Forget them,” Jin Yu said, drawing in the dirt with a twig. “I tailed them all morning today and mapped out their abilities. Their leader’s name is Scarface—his punches are incredibly fast.”
She wrote the characters for “Scarface” in the mud and drew a fist beside it.
“His right-hand man is Bighead. His weapon is a retractable chain-arm—kind of like your sword-rope, Liang Yu, but more complex and much deadlier.”
“There’s also a tall guy, nicknamed Tallman. He’s equipped with a pair of steam-powered gauntlets.”
“The other three are just enforcers: one uses steel claws, another is good with hidden darts, and the last one’s whip-kicks are lethal.”
“Honestly, they’re twice our number. Winning head-on is close to impossible. Unless we get outside help, we need to drag their level down to match ours.”
“They’re very cautious. They move almost exclusively in groups, even for things like going to the toilet—it’s always two together. And even when split, they never stray far. If there’s danger, reinforcements come instantly.”
Xie Fei frowned. “That troublesome? Can’t we just ambush them—hit and run?”
Jin Yu shook her head. “Even ambushes need precision. If we don’t weaken them in the first strike, we’ll only make them more alert.”
Liang Yu groaned. “Then what do we do?”
Jin Yu fell into thought. “A frontal clash won’t work. We’ll have to sabotage them while they’re out hunting others. Sofas, chairs, beds—those are the things they use the most.”
Just as Jin Yu was analyzing, whistles suddenly sounded in the distance.
Xie Fei grew tense. “What’s going on? How do they know we’re here?”
Jin Yu and Xie Fei exchanged a glance—someone had sold them out.
Jin Yu quickly erased her drawings with her foot.
Liang Yu stepped back, eyes flickering. He immediately declared his exit. “Sis, I’m sorry. My ability’s limited. I can’t help you. I’d better leave now while I still can.”
【Damn, this guy’s not even human—straight up defected】
【Knew he was untrustworthy from the start】
Xie Fei roared, “Liang Yu, you traitor!” Then, turning to Jin Yu: “Sis, I’ll go fetch reinforcements. You hold them off!”
【Holy crap! Xie Fei’s a traitor too!!】
【Sh1t, Yu-jie’s side was already small, now two bailed—how can she fight like this?】
【I really thought Xie Fei was a good one…】
【Don’t panic yet. Maybe the two of them are just acting.】
Wang Tao muttered, “On a battlefield, plenty of people desert to save themselves. I don’t think they’ll be coming back.”
With enemies looming, both had fled, leaving only Jin Yu. Yet she didn’t flinch. She kicked a birch branch clean off a tree and wielded it as a weapon.
The snitch was a pudgy man with squinty eyes and a sycophantic smile.
“Boss, I’ve brought them here. You promised to take me in as a little brother, right?”
Scarface snorted. “Fine, I keep my word. From now on, you’re Number Seven.”
Jin Yu sneered. “Number Seven, I’ll remember you.”
The snitch shuddered and shrank behind Scarface.
Scarface grinned viciously. “Hahaha! You really don’t know your place, little girl. Your people ditched you, yet you still dare talk tough? Be smart—surrender now. If Grandpa’s in a good mood, maybe I’ll spare your life.”
【One against six—and a snitch makes seven. How can she fight this? She should just surrender.】
【Wow, you must be a hater. She hasn’t even fought yet!】
【Then what? One girl against seven men built like bulls—she could grow six arms and still lose. If she doesn’t surrender, she’ll be beaten to death.】
Tong Xinying was visibly anxious, whispering encouragement: “Yu-jie’s amazing. She won’t lose.”
Wang Tao’s tone was flat. “Charging into this fight is no different than suicide.”
Tong Xinying shouted back, voice trembling: “You’re wrong! Jin Yu is strong—she really is!”
Scarface’s men laughed uproariously, while Jin Yu silently snapped the side branches off her birch stick.
“What, you think that little twig’s enough to take us on? Or are you planning to tickle us with it?”
Jin Yu rolled up her sleeves, gripping the branch. She lashed out, the branch snapping across Scarface’s mouth. Though he blocked, part of it still whipped his lips, leaving a red welt.
Scarface’s rage erupted. “B1tch! You really don’t know what’s good for you. Get her! I’ll make sure she regrets ever crossing me!”
Five men surrounded her. A chain-hand and mechanical arrow fired at once, but Jin Yu blocked and dodged. She stepped on the chain, yanked it hard, then flipped midair, whipping the stick across Tallman’s neck, pricking him with splinters.
“You’re dead!” Tallman roared, lunging for her legs. Jin Yu struck his arm with the branch. He reached again, and she smacked his leg. Using the rebound, she flipped him onto the ground.
Tallman rose, seething, steam hissing off his gauntlets. The hot gust alone nearly warped the air. A single punch to her face would dislocate her skull.
Jin Yu stripped off her jacket, wrapped it around her arm, and caught his blow head-on. She answered with rapid, short punches, driving him back step after step. Twisting sharply, his gauntlet creaked and cracked, and with a scream, he was sent flying by a kick to the back.
The rest staggered back.
Gunshots echoed in the distance. Instinctively, they checked their signal pistols—still there.
But Jin Yu’s presence pressed on them like a mountain. Each couldn’t shake the dread that they’d be the next to fall.
【What kind of boxing is that? She moves slow but the power is insane.】
【Is it Tai Chi?】
【No, looks like Bajiquan.】
【What the hell are those?】
【Ever heard the saying: ‘Tai Chi calms the realm, Baji secures the world’?】
【Still don’t get it, explain please.】
Ma Younian, face flushed with excitement, explained: “Tai Chi is about intent over force—‘stillness controls motion, softness overcomes hardness, slowness counters speed.’ Baji, on the other hand, is all about explosive short-range strikes—direct, fierce, and brutally efficient. Its hallmark is delivering maximum force in minimal movement.”
Scarface’s face darkened. “Damn it! Five of you can’t beat one woman? You want to be a laughingstock? Get her!”
Tallman sat out, but the other five regrouped.
The steel-claw thug charged first. Jin Yu tossed her jacket at him; he shredded it instantly. But she dove at his waist, grabbed both clawed arms, and twisted—his hands fell limp. She kicked his chin, sending a tooth flying.
Then, drawing a deep breath, she planted her feet and hammered his chest with twin punches. He flew back, smashing through a tree as thick as a fist, coughing bl00d. His signal light turned red—eliminated.
【Whoever doubted Yu-jie, apologize right now】
【Sorry! I was wrong. Yu-jie’s a beast】
【Yu-jie’s invincible】
Ma Younian nearly leapt from his chair. “That was another Baji move—the ‘Heaven-Shaking Cannon.’ Straight from the ground up, enormous power. Baji doesn’t rely on flashy moves, just pure force—every strike is lethal.”
The rest of Scarface’s men paled.
From six, they were down to three able fighters, plus one crippled. Scarface snarled and shoved the snitch forward. “You too!”
The snitch shuffled nervously forward, only to be pummeled black and blue within moments. He tried every excuse to hang back, forcing the others to rotate in.
But Jin Yu was like a phantom—swift, relentless, conserving her stamina. While the others gasped for air, she was barely winded, only her back soaked with sweat.
【Ten minutes have passed. Yu-jie’s only damp with sweat. Has she even gone all out yet?】
【Same thought. Everyone else is exhausted—she’s just lightly panting.】
【Her panting even sounds nice. I’d die happy if she breathed in my ear.】
【Too late, she’s already breathing by my pillow.】
【Cut the nonsense—what if Scarface himself steps in?】
【I still bet on Yu-jie.】
【She’s already blown my mind.】
【Forget heaven and earth, I’ll be Yu-jie’s loyal dog.】
【Make that two.】
Time blurred. Sweat dripped from Jin Yu’s chin, darkening the dry dirt.
Her birch branch was splintered, bloodied leaves and broken chain links littered the ground. The battlefield was carnage.
Scarface sneered. “Useless trash. Fall back!”
The five withdrew. Now it was Scarface against Jin Yu. He charged with fists raised—
And then, the mechanical voice boomed: “Weather anomaly commencing in 10 seconds. Duration: 15 minutes.”
Fog descended like a wall.
Almost instantly, vision dropped to zero. Birdcalls echoed unnaturally, then came a chorus of clashes and signal flares from every direction. They weren’t the only ones fighting in the mist.
Scarface barked, “Who’s playing tricks?”
Jin Yu’s hand pierced the fog at him; he swatted it aside.
“Fall back! All of you, fall back!” Scarface roared.
But Jin Yu vanished into the mist.
When it finally cleared, only Jin Yu remained—along with the bruised snitch and the returning Liang Yu and Xie Fei. Scarface’s five henchmen were all gone. Only the snitch stood, grinning as he spoke with Jin Yu.
Though his face was swollen, he couldn’t hide his smile. He cupped his fists. “Boss, that was brilliant. I’m impressed.”
Jin Yu smirked. Noticing his puffed-up face, she muttered apologetically: “Sorry… I hit you a lot for realism.”
“Heh, it’s nothing. All for victory.”
Bighead clutched his chest, gasping. “Traitor! You were her plant all along!”
The snitch chuckled slyly. “Oops, caught me. Honestly, I wasn’t planning to wipe you all out—but that fog was too perfect. Leaving you alive would’ve been a waste. You should be thanking me.”
Xie Fei’s eyes curved into crescents, her voice cheerful as she reported: “Sis, Liang Yu and I took care of the rest. Now in Zone 16, it’s just us four… and Scarface.”
The entire audience—both livestream and studio—was shocked. A quick check confirmed it: only five survivors left in Zone 16.
Tong Xinying gaped. “What? When did all the others get eliminated?”
Ma Younian frowned. “During Yu-jie’s fight, I heard a lot of shots… but I didn’t count.”
Wang Tao rolled his eyes. “At least a dozen. And when the fog came, another twenty or thirty were knocked out.”
【Holy crap—when did Jin Yu set up such a huge scheme? An hour ago there were 50 people left. Now just four of them cleared out everyone else.】
【I’m shook—my whole family’s shook】
【I thought Yu-jie was barely holding on. Turns out she was pulling all the strings】
【Why was I even worried for her? I should’ve worried for her enemies】
The broadcast replayed the scene from an hour earlier—when the four had been “discussing.”
【Production team, you monsters】
【Editors, you sneaky geniuses】
“The plan’s like this,” Jin Yu had said. “Xie Fei, Liang Yu, you go find anyone left willing to join us against Scarface. If yes, bring them. If not, fine.”
Ten minutes later, they brought back the pudgy Tang Chaotian.
Tang greeted warmly. “Yu-jie, I’m Tang Chaotian. I hear you’re gathering allies to take down Scarface. You must be confident, huh?”
Jin Yu gave him a half-smile. “More or less.”
Tang grinned skeptically. “Really? You’re not bluffing? Scarface has already crushed several groups. With just you few, how could you win?”
Jin Yu replied coolly, “Then why join us?”
Tang blinked, then grew serious. “Honestly, I’ve heard your name. If anyone in this zone can beat Scarface, it’s you.”
Jin Yu chuckled. “Thanks for the praise. Since you’re here, listen carefully. You’re going to run to Scarface and snitch. Tell him we’re planning to hit him. Emphasize that our skills are evenly matched, and we’re constantly bickering over leadership. Say we tried recruiting other teams, but they were too weak to join. Then lure Scarface to us.”
Tang obeyed and ran off.
Jin Yu turned to the others. “Remember where the players you scouted were? I bet they’ll come watch. Lay traps in their path. Once Scarface and I start fighting, you engage them and fire as many signal guns as possible. The more the better. If we can eliminate them all, we end this today.”
Liang Yu gaped. “Sis, y-y-you’re insane—big guts!”
Xie Fei was thrilled. “Perfect! One big sweep. Let’s see those cowards hide now—they’ll be wiped clean!”
Jin Yu gave final orders. “The beast wave passed this morning. Next is the weather change. Once you’re done, come back and support me. I’ll drag the fight until then. During the fog, take out two henchmen. I’ll eliminate a vice-leader. Then it’s four versus three. Clear?”
Both shouted, “Clear!”
Jin Yu hushed them. Hearing distant noises, she smirked. “Tang’s back. Let’s put on a show.”
She picked up a stick from the ground…
The replay ended.
Suddenly, Jin Yu asked, “By the way, how did you eliminate so many people?”
Xie Fei’s eyes sparkled like a child’s. “Traps! We set up tons of electric traps. They lined up to get zapped!”
Jin Yu ruffled her hair. “Good job. You two really pulled it off.”
Liang Yu puffed with pride. “Sis, what now? Is it Scarface’s turn?”
Jin Yu’s smile vanished, her eyes turning icy cold. “Exactly. Now—it’s time we dealt with him.”
