You Stole My Husband, So I Seduced Your Son - Chapter 31
He strode to the bedside and sat down, reaching out to take Song Xuwan’s foot in his hand.
“What are you doing?” Song Xuwan asked, feigning ignorance.
“Don’t worry, I’m just applying medicine. I was too rushed yesterday and forgot.”
Oh, it’s just medicine, Song Xuwan thought, offering a token resistance before relenting.
She watched as Ji Moyang poured medicinal wine into his palm, rubbed it between his hands to warm it, and then gently massaged it into her ankle with remarkable patience.
His hands were warm, and the rough texture against her skin felt like calluses. How strange for a scholar to have calluses on his hands?
But with her mission weighing on her mind, she didn’t have time to dwell on it. She quickly offered a perfunctory struggle. “Young Master, you can’t do this.”
Ji Moyang, who had been diligently applying the medicine, paused. Before yesterday, his conscience would have been in turmoil, making him feel unworthy of heaven, earth, his ruler, and his Honored Teacher. But after last night’s unrestrained indulgence, he had grown quite comfortable with his newfound libertine persona.
He gently tugged on Song Xuwan’s foot, drawing her closer.
Then his hand slid upward from her ankle, a smile playing on his lips. “Can’t do what? This? Or this?”
Beneath the veneer of a gentleman, this man seemed utterly depraved.
Song Xuwan, her body melting into a boneless mass from his teasing, feigned a shiver and said, “Young Master, you are a virtuous gentleman, having studied diligently for ten years to serve the nation and its people. How could you dishonor a virtuous woman?”
“A gentleman?” Ji Moyang pressed closer, his voice husky. “Let’s be gentlemen again in the daylight.”
“No! You’ll ruin my reputation! You’re forcing me to my death! I’ll have no face left to live in this world!”
Hearing Song Xuwan threaten suicide again, Ji Moyang grew fierce. “What did you promise me last night, hmm?”
“You’re not allowed to die. You’re not allowed to tell anyone. What are you afraid of? I’ll take responsibility for everything.”
The teenage boy spoke with a boldness that defied heaven and earth.
“Be good. Be obedient. No one will ever know.”
In the struggle, Ji Moyang had already shed his outer robe. Song Xuwan desperately pushed him away. “Someone will find out!”
“You won’t scream, will you? How could anyone find out?” Ji Moyang extinguished the lamp.
“Did studying the Sages’ teachings all day teach you to dishonor virtuous women in the middle of the night?” Song Xuwan made one last desperate plea.
Ji Moyang chuckled softly. “Guess what books I was reading during the day?”
“Come, let me teach you one by one. I taught you quite a few last night already.”
Remembering the previous night’s encounter, Song Xuwan realized Ji Moyang was referring to the erotic paintings. Was this man actually planning to reenact every pose from those paintings in full?
How shameless!
“No…” Her final protest was swallowed by the bed curtains.
Within the curtains, a jade-like arm occasionally struggled free, only to be immediately pulled back, causing the curtains to sway violently.
The scalding heat of their passion seeped silently through the swaying curtains, spreading from the fiery interior to the tranquil night outside.
The night was serene and mysterious. The stars, washed clean by the recent rain, shone with exceptional brilliance. Even the occasional croak of a frog failed to disturb anyone’s peaceful dreams.
By the second half of the night, Song Xuwan was certain no one would come to catch them in the act.
Looking at Ji Moyang, still insatiable, she bitterly regretted ever throwing those erotic paintings at him.
“Please, go back now. It’s almost dawn. I beg you.”
“One last time.”
When Song Xuwan opened her eyes again and saw Nanny Yun standing anxiously by her bedside, she felt deeply resentful.
Before Song Xuwan could complain, Nanny Yun apologized, “Madam, I was chatting with Madam Min yesterday. She was performing her evening Buddhist rituals and asked me to wait a while. After drinking a cup of tea, I figured she wouldn’t be done anytime soon, so I went back to check on the Young Miss. I must have fallen asleep without realizing it.”
“Madam, did you sleep well last night?” Nanny Yun asked, her voice tinged with guilt.
Song Xuwan was speechless. She had slept until noon, feeling as if a demon had drained her soul. She looked anything but well.
Too exhausted to explain, she let Baizhi help her dress and get out of bed to eat something and regain her strength.
But as soon as her feet touched the floor, her legs nearly gave way, and she almost collapsed. Baizhi swiftly steadied her, saying worriedly, “Perhaps your sprained ankle hasn’t fully healed yet, Madam.”
“A sprained ankle? When did that happen?”
Nanny Yun, growing anxious, reached out and lifted Song Xuwan’s foot to examine it. When she saw the red swelling and two dark bruises, she froze.
Her face contorted with shock, and she whispered mysteriously, “Madam, could this be… a ghost’s pinch?”
“We can’t stay here any longer! We’re leaving today!”
After waiting two days for Min Rongxue, Song Xuwan was half-dead from exhaustion. Just when their plan was about to succeed, leaving now would mean abandoning all their efforts. Song Xuwan felt reluctant.
“The rain only stopped yesterday. The roads will be muddy and difficult to travel today.”
“If Master can come, we can go too.”
After lunch, Song Xuwan considered whether they should really leave. As long as Green Hills remained, they could always find firewood.
In the mid-afternoon, Zhou Minghai arrived. Before Song Xuwan could speak, Nanny Yun rushed to report to him in a dramatic tone.
“Master, there’s something unclean here. Madam’s complexion is worsening daily, and today she nearly couldn’t stand. There are even pinch marks on her legs.”
Zhou Minghai dismissed her concerns, believing Song Xuwan was simply being overly delicate. Lying in bed all day during the rain had likely caused her ailments.
“Didn’t Nanny say Madam sprained her ankle? Those pinch marks are probably from accidentally bumping into something. There’s no such thing as unclean spirits. We’ve lived in this annex for over a decade, and Madam Min’s family lived here comfortably. Why would Madam suddenly be unwell?”
Nanny Yun also found the situation strange, but witnessing Song Xuwan’s deteriorating condition, she felt compelled to be cautious.
“Master, please don’t think I’m trying to scare you. Just look at Madam’s complexion—isn’t it growing worse each day?”
Zhou Minghai scrutinized Song Xuwan’s face carefully. “She looks perfectly fine,” he said earnestly. “She just hasn’t put on any makeup. If Madam would take the time to dress up properly and apply some makeup, she’d look no different from her usual self.”
His words seemed reasonable. Madam had been bedridden for the past two days, not even bothering to comb her hair, let alone apply makeup. She looked utterly listless.
Zhou Minghai concluded that Nanny Yun was simply getting old and prone to overreacting to everything.
He sat down and asked Song Xuwan earnestly, “What about you? Do you want to go back?”
Before she could answer, he continued, “The rain has stopped, but the roads are still muddy. Even my carriage slipped on the way here today, forcing me to get out and have the servants pull it out of the mud.”
Song Xuwan frowned at the mud caked on Zhou Minghai’s boots.
“The roads are that bad?”
“Yes. Would you really want to get your embroidered shoes dirty?”
Seeing that Song Xuwan hadn’t even gotten out of bed, clearly unwilling to soil her shoes, Zhou Minghai grew anxious. He feared that if she returned home, he would lose his excuse to visit Min Rongxue.
He pressed on, “Besides, Ningning has been so happy these past few days with Liyue. She’s been studying diligently too. Since there’s nothing urgent at home, why not stay a few more days and put your mind at ease?”
