Young Miss from the Feng Family - FJXM Chapter 14
“And what makes you think I’ll agree to help you?”
The woman remained silent. Indeed, they were nothing more than strangers.
“The title of the Prime Minister’s legitimate heir comes with many benefits.” she offered.
“Yes, like dying faster!” Feng Jiu Ge replied, leaning back against a tree and looking down at the woman struggling on the ground. It was a statement that was hard to refute.
But revenge? That was something Feng Jiu Ge loved. She tucked the jade pendant, signifying the woman’s identity as the Prime Minister’s legitimate daughter, into her hand.
“Given that we share the same name and similar fates, I’ll help you with this.”
“Thank you…” The woman barely managed to whisper before taking her last breath. Feng Jiu Ge raised an eyebrow, slightly amused. A struggle within the inner courtyards? She relished such things!
The Prime Minister’s Manor! She had been wondering how she might get inside. “Well then, I’ll borrow your name for a while!”
In the Prime Minister’s Manor in the capital:
“Mother, we’ve just received word that the situation has been handled.”
“Are you certain? What about the body?”
“The body, along with the carriage, fell off a cliff. By now, it’s probably been eaten by the wild beasts of the mountains!”
“That won’t do. I won’t be at ease until I see the body. Send more people to search!”
“That bastard child must never return to the Prime Minister’s Manor!” The conversation was between none other than the Lady of the Prime Minister’s Manor and the eldest daughter, Gu Qingqing.
Under a cherry blossom tree, a figure lay on a soft couch. Dressed in a blood-red robe, the figure exuded an eerie aura as the sunlight filtered through the blossoms.
“Xiaowei, how’s the investigation going?” The voice was androgynous, yet captivating.
“Master, our people found nothing.” The woman called Xiaowei frowned. This was the first time their Divine Healer Pavilion had failed to uncover any information.
“Interesting.” The single word from the person on the couch gave no clue to their thoughts.
“Stop the investigation.” It had been a long time since something this intriguing had come along.
Leng Tian Ao—she would meet him in person.
“Master, are you really planning to go yourself? Perhaps it would be better to send someone from the Divine Healer Pavilion in disguise.” Xiaowei hesitated, unsure how to proceed.
Her master’s identity was too important. Going to the War King’s manor for training could easily expose the truth.
“It won’t be that easy to find out who I am.” The person on the couch finally sat up, a lazy aura permeating the space around them.
Their exquisite features were mesmerizing.
“Miss!” Xiaowei began to protest but knew there was no changing her master’s mind once a decision was made. At the same time, she felt a pang of sympathy for her master.
“Call me Master!”
“Yes, Master.” Xiaowei sighed silently as she looked at the stunning profile of Gu Jiu Ge.
Gu Jiu Ge, the eldest “son” of the Prime Minister’s Manor in Tianqi, had been raised in the countryside since childhood, though in truth, she was a girl. Feng Jiu Ge had spent a week in this village, assuming Gu Jiu Ge’s identity. Since taking on this new identity, she had learned everything there was to know about the real Gu Jiu Ge.
The War King had called for all the noble families to send their sons to his manor for training, supposedly to enhance their combat abilities. This had naturally led to much speculation, with each family scrambling to ensure their interests.
That was why the Prime Minister had suddenly remembered the eldest son he had never seen.
“Where are the Gu family’s people now?”
“They’ve just reached the entrance of the village.”
“And the Crown Prince’s people?”
“The Crown Prince’s people have also arrived. They’re asking for you now.”
“Are we going back with the Gu family’s carriage, or are we going with the Crown Prince?”
“Send word to the Crown Prince’s men that they’re too late. The Feng Girl has already been taken.”
There were rumors in the martial world—whoever found the Feng Girl, said to be the number one on the list of renowned figures, would gain the world. Yet no one had ever truly known who this Feng Girl was.
