Young Miss from the Feng Family - FJXM Chapter 29
“Your Highness, what brings you to my room?” Feng Jiu Ge asked, surprised at the prince’s sudden appearance—and the fact that he didn’t even knock.
“I wanted to see what kind of deadly illness you’ve contracted that’s kept you from training,” Long Tian Ao replied, sitting down beside her on the bed.
He glanced at her pale face and frowned. “What’s wrong with you?”
“I’m fine. I just need to rest for a bit,” Feng Jiu Ge muttered, sprawling out on the bed. All she wanted was for Long Tian Ao to leave so she could just lie there in peace.
“Fine?”
“Yeah, really, I’m fine.”
“If you’re fine, then get up and go train!”
This guy really had no compassion.
“Your Highness~ Can’t you just let me off the hook? Look at me, I’m all skin and bones—I really can’t handle your training regimen,” Feng Jiu Ge leaned weakly against Long Tian Ao, acting as though she might faint at any moment.
Long Tian Ao’s body stiffened slightly. He’d never been this close to anyone before. He quickly stood up, stepping away from her.
As he looked at Feng Jiu Ge, he noticed just how frail she was—thinner than even a girl. Given the environment she grew up in, though, it wasn’t surprising.
“Fine, rest for now. But as soon as you’re better, you’re going back to training!”
“Alright! I promise I’ll be there on time!” Feng Jiu Ge agreed quickly, elated that she had won this small victory. She had expected to argue much longer.
“Mu Qing, come up with a training regimen that’s more suitable for Feng Jiu Ge.”
“You figured it out?” Mu Qing asked, putting down what he was holding and looking at Long Tian Ao.
“Figured out what?”
Apparently, he hadn’t.
“Nothing, nothing at all. Feng Jiu Ge’s body is indeed too weak. Our regular training isn’t suitable for him.” Mu Qing deflected smoothly.
Long Tian Ao gave Mu Qing a suspicious look. He was certain Mu Qing was hiding something from him, but before he could press the issue, Mu Qing had already made his escape.
When Feng Jiu Ge arrived at the training grounds again, she hadn’t even settled in before she was called away.
“Strategist Mu, what’s going on?” she asked.
“It’s like this, your training is going to be different from the others. After all, you are… you are a girl, so I’ve come up with a plan that suits you better.” Mu Qing explained, looking slightly embarrassed.
“Follow me.”
“Starting today, I’ll personally oversee your training.”
“Really? That’s fantastic. Strategist Mu, you’re the only one who knows I’m a girl, so you have to treat me well,” Feng Jiu Ge said with a grin.
“Of course.” Mu Qing’s face flushed slightly.
Years on the battlefield had left him with little experience dealing with women, making him a bit flustered.
“I’m really curious, who are you, exactly?” he asked, watching Feng Jiu Ge closely. Did the Prime Minister even know that his eldest son was actually a woman?
“Me? I’m Feng Jiu Ge. Just Feng Jiu Ge, the eldest son of the Gu family.”
“Don’t worry, I mean no harm to you or to the War King.”
“As long as you don’t give me trouble, I won’t be your enemy.”
“As for the Gu family, I have no intention of protecting them,” Feng Jiu Ge declared, making her stance clear. She needed to uncover the truth about what had happened years ago, but first, she needed to secure a strong ally in the capital.
“You’re quite the character,” Mu Qing said, a small smile on his lips.
With the adjusted training plan, Feng Jiu Ge found things much easier, much to Xiao Mingyu’s envy and frustration.
“Jiu Ge, why do you get to train separately? Why not me?” Xiao Mingyu grumbled, sprawled out on his bed, thoroughly annoyed.
“Maybe it’s because I’m just more adorable,” Feng Jiu Ge teased with a laugh.
But her easy days didn’t last long. Feng Jiu Ge’s smile faded when she saw who was standing before her.
“Your Highness, where’s Strategist Mu?”
“Strategist Mu is busy. From now on, I’ll personally oversee your training,” Long Tian Ao said, holding the training plan Mu Qing had devised. He frowned as he looked it over.
“You’ve been doing these exercises the past few days?”
“Yes, Your Highness. Don’t be fooled by how simple they look—these exercises are actually quite challenging! I’ve been really tired,” Feng Jiu Ge quickly tried to explain. The last thing she wanted was to go back to the original training.
“No, this won’t do. We’ll change it.”
“Change? Change to what?” Feng Jiu Ge’s voice rose in panic. Why did she have a bad feeling about this?
When Feng Jiu Ge saw the new training regimen, her heart sank.
“Your Highness, I really don’t want to trouble you.”
“You must have plenty of important things to do. I’m just a small fry, not worth your time,” Feng Jiu Ge pleaded, hoping he would let her off the hook. Long Tian Ao just stared at her, waiting for her to finish.
“It’s no trouble,” he said coldly.
Feng Jiu Ge felt her heart drop.
How could a prince be so free of responsibilities?
“You’re far too weak,” Long Tian Ao remarked, placing a large hand on her shoulder. He gave her arm a squeeze.
It hurt.
“Your Highness, let go! That hurts!” Feng Jiu Ge cried out.
Long Tian Ao paused, surprised at how thin her arm was—much thinner than anyone who had spent time on the battlefield.
“Your Highness, if you keep squeezing, you’re going to break my arm,” Feng Jiu Ge whimpered, nearly in tears. Did he have a grudge against her or something?
“How can anyone be this scrawny?” Long Tian Ao withdrew his hand, but the image of her frail arm stayed in his mind.
“Today, we’ll start by working on your arm strength!”
A little later, Feng Jiu Ge was practically lying flat on the ground, utterly exhausted.
Her arms didn’t even feel like they were hers anymore.
She glanced at Long Tian Ao, who was calmly sipping tea nearby, and tried to shift into a more comfortable position.
“Add another hundred,” came the cold command.
“Your Highness, can’t you just pretend you didn’t see that?” Feng Jiu Ge whined, her voice filled with despair. She had never been this miserable in her entire life.
“Your Highness, look, my arms aren’t working anymore. Can we call it a day?”
Long Tian Ao didn’t respond, not even sparing her a glance.
Feng Jiu Ge pouted. How could anyone be this heartless?
Fed up, she lay down flat on the ground.
“Your Highness, I can’t take it anymore. I quit.”
Long Tian Ao looked down at her, amused by her antics. He had never met anyone this shameless before.
“Tomorrow, we’ll double it.”
Feng Jiu Ge’s half-formed smile froze on her face.
As Long Tian Ao started to leave, Feng Jiu Ge quickly got to her feet—only to find her legs giving out from under her. She watched in horror as her uncontrollable body lurched forward, crashing into Long Tian Ao.
She ended up clinging tightly to his waist, her hand instinctively giving his toned muscles a squeeze.
Hmm, not bad.
“Have you had enough?” Long Tian Ao’s icy voice jolted her back to reality, and Feng Jiu Ge realized what she was doing.
She quickly pulled her hand back and didn’t hesitate to offer a compliment. “Nice physique.”
“Certainly better than yours,” Long Tian Ao retorted, his gaze sweeping over her slight frame.
Almost reflexively, Feng Jiu Ge crossed her arms over her chest, muttering under her breath. She had a great figure—curves in all the right places!
