Young Miss from the Feng Family - FJXM Chapter 33
“Your Highness, everything has been taken care of. Gu Jiu Ge has been moved to your side hall.”
“Hm.”
Putting down the brush in his hand, War King looked at the painting he just finished, frowning slightly. In the past, the faces of the people in his paintings either had a baby-like face or simply lacked any facial features. But lately, for some reason, the woman he painted resembled Gu Jiu Ge more and more.
Feeling a bit irritated, he set his brush aside.
“Is there something else?”
The butler remained in place, not having left yet, prompting War King to speak up.
“Your Highness, Young Master Gu used your private kitchen.”
“Hm, if he wants to use it, let him.”
The butler, full of confusion, left. It was hard to understand the prince’s thoughts. In the past, His Highness was extremely particular about others touching his things. Yet now, Young Master Gu used the exclusive private kitchen, and the prince showed no sign of being upset.
At the side hall.
“Young Master, these are the pills sent by the Poison Healer.”
“They arrived so quickly?” Gu Jiu Ge, relieved, took the pills from Xiao Wei.
Thank goodness. If these hadn’t arrived soon, she would’ve been really worried about what might happen in the near future.
When Gu Jiu Ge came out of her room again, Xiao Wei noticed something new around Gu Jiu Ge’s neck.
“Y-Young Master, what is that?”
“Oh, this? Isn’t this something a man should have?” She touched the protrusion on her neck. She hadn’t expected the pill her master made to be so effective—after taking it, she had actually grown such a realistic Adam’s apple.
Not only that, she could clearly feel that her chest had flattened as well.
Aside from the fact that nothing had grown below, she now looked completely like a man.
“Miss, how did you suddenly develop these things?”
“Xiao Wei, don’t make such a big fuss, alright?” Gu Jiu Ge rubbed her ear, slightly annoyed. Xiao Wei was great in most ways, but her voice was too loud.
“If you’re going to disguise yourself, you can’t just look the part.”
“Miss, what if you can’t change back?”
“I will. It’s medicine; it always has an effective period. Once it wears off, I’ll return to normal.”
Hearing this, Xiao Wei finally breathed a sigh of relief. That’s good. She had been really worried that her mistress would end up stuck in some in-between state.
“Xiao Wei, from now on, we have to be more careful.”
That Long Tian Ao is truly not easy to deal with. Last time, she almost gave herself away.
Even now, despite all she had done, it might not be enough to completely remove Long Tian Ao’s suspicion.
“Have Feng’er stay here!”
“Spread the word that Lady Feng has appeared in the capital. Inform Feng’er, and get close to the Gu family, especially the heir, Gu Qingshan!”
“Understood, Master!”
“And investigate Long Tian Ao in secret.”
There was something about Long Tian Ao that was far from simple. Every time she saw him, there was a strange sense of familiarity.
Where exactly did this feeling come from?
“In the next few days, find someone with a similar body type and voice to replace me at the War King Residence.”
“Young Master, are you planning to…”
“I’ve been here for a while now. It’s time to meet the Crown Prince.”
“Master, we just received word that the Second Prince has come to see you several times already.”
“Later than I expected, but he sure is patient.”
“Xiao Wei, who do you think I should see first as Lady Feng—the Crown Prince or the Second Prince?” Gu Jiu Ge’s lips curled into a smile.
“Send someone to inform the Crown Prince that Lady Feng will meet Gu Qingshan for tea at Zui Xian Ju. And leak this information to the Second Prince.”
Xiao Wei quickly understood Gu Jiu Ge’s intentions: “I’ll get right on it.”
Thanks to Xiao Wei’s efficiency, the news soon spread throughout the capital.
All the different factions were ready to make a move, but none were more anxious than the Gu family.
“Qingshan, do you know Lady Feng?”
“Father, I don’t know Lady Feng. I have no idea who spread this rumor.”
“It doesn’t matter if it’s true or false. Right now, our Gu family is a thorn in both the Crown Prince’s and the Second Prince’s sides. Who is trying to frame the Gu family?”
“Last time, when Gu Jiu Ge returned to the mansion, the Crown Prince came to visit. This time, we absolutely cannot afford another misunderstanding!”
“Qingshan, go to Zui Xian Ju and meet with the Crown Prince. Make sure to clear up this misunderstanding. Otherwise, our family is done for.”
No matter who takes the throne in the future, the Gu family will become a target of the royal family’s wrath.
“Master, just as you predicted, Gu Qingshan has indeed arrived.”
“Proceed according to plan,” Gu Jiu Ge’s lips curled into a slight smile.
“Your Highness, the Crown Prince!” The doors opened just as Gu Qingshan had barely finished his cup of tea, and the Crown Prince stormed in with a face as dark as thunder.
“Gu Qingshan! It really is you!”
“Your Highness, I’ve been waiting for you.”
“Gu Qingshan, I didn’t expect this from you. Your Gu family has quite the ambition, getting so close to Lady Feng. Are you planning a rebellion?”
“Your Highness, you misunderstand. I do not know Lady Feng.”
“Don’t know her?” The Crown Prince scoffed coldly. “Then why are you in Lady Feng’s private box?”
“What? Isn’t this Your Highness’s room?”
“Hmph, I didn’t realize Gu Qingshan was such a skilled actor.”
“Indeed. Both His Highness and I were fooled by you.” A new voice entered the room—it was the Second Prince.
At this point, Gu Qingshan felt like even a hundred mouths couldn’t clear his name.
“Where is Lady Feng, Second Young Master Gu?”
“I don’t know, Your Highnesses. I’m here today only to explain on behalf of the Gu family.”
“The Gu family does not know Lady Feng. The Gu family swears absolute loyalty to Tianqi, with no disloyal intentions.”
“The Gu family has always been loyal. Naturally, I believe that. I’m sure my brother does as well.” The Second Prince spoke up first. “Right, Crown Prince?”
“Of course!”
“How could you say you don’t know me, Young Master Gu?” At that moment, a veiled woman elegantly walked into the room.
“Lady Feng?” Gu Qingshan froze.
“You!” How was it possible that a courtesan from a brothel was actually Lady Feng?
“Your Highness, Second Prince, I only wanted to catch up with Young Master Gu today.” Gu Jiu Ge gracefully bowed and sat down under the gaze of the three men.
Not just Gu Qingshan—even the Crown Prince and Second Prince hadn’t expected Lady Feng’s identity to be like this.
“You… are Lady Feng?”
“Your Highness, after searching from rural villages to this bustling capital, how could you not have figured out who I am?”
“I’ve always enjoyed spending time in brothels, and when I’m there, I go by the name Feng’er. I’m sure this wasn’t too difficult for you to find out, right?”
“I simply didn’t expect someone like Feng’er to lower herself to such a place.”
“People are neither noble nor lowly by birth, and neither are professions.” Gu Jiu Ge cast a glance at the kneeling Gu Qingshan. “It seems we won’t be able to catch up today after all, Young Master Gu.”
