The night passed quietly, but at dawn, the baby who had never cried before suddenly burst into tears. In this eerie place, shrouded in thick morning fog that obscured everything from view, the cries only made the atmosphere more unsettling.

“Where did this child come from?” A curious female voice echoed through the mist. A woman dressed in white floated gracefully into view, her lips curling into an amused smile.

“Dear, this child is so adorable.” said a short man standing beside her, pointing to the crying baby on the ground.

“Yes, quite cute. But how could such a lovely child end up in the arms of such an ugly old eunuch?” she remarked, her gaze shifting to the nearly lifeless figure of Eunuch Wang, who had just barely managed to escape with the child. Seeing the two figures, Eunuch Wang’s eyes lit up with hope, as if he had encountered his saviors.

“Please, save this child.” he pleaded weakly.

“Dear, we’ve been quite bored in the Valley of Medical Immortals. Why don’t we take the child back with us?” The man suggested, lifting the baby into his arms.

The woman looked at the child the man was holding and smiled, “I’ve been wanting to find a child to play with.”

“As for this one…” She pinched Eunuch Wang’s mouth open and forced a pill inside. “Whether you live or die depends on your fate.”

Five years later…

“Feng Jiugé!” A loud roar echoed through the air. Outside the house, a little figure hiding by the wall, busy with something, jumped in fright.

Moments later, the white-clad woman stormed over, grabbing the child by the collar.

“Feng Jiugé, how many times have I told you not to go into the medicine field? How many times!”

“Why can’t you remember that?”

“What is that, Jiugé?” she asked, her voice trembling. Please, don’t tell her that the priceless herbs from her medicine field had been boiled into a potion. The invaluable leaves were indeed floating in the bowl.

“It’s your medicine, Beautiful Master. I just used it to save an injured little bird.” Feng Jiugé replied sweetly.

“What now?” The Poison Master blinked, confused by Jiugé’s sudden change of subject.
